Hello,
Can onyone that owns a Nexus player tell me if the power supply has multi voltage e.g. will it accept 220V next to 110V as well? Just ordered a US version that comes with US plug and probably 110V of input power. The plug is not an issue, there are adapters for that, but the voltage could be more of an issue.
Thanks,
Mark
No problem with 220V input on the US adaptors.

So did it work ? I want to order Nexus Player too from US and i wonder if it will work with simple travel adapter.
I'm using NP ordered from Amazon with US power supply in Australia (240v). It's a universal voltage power supply and it just needed a simple plug adaptor to make it fit our sockets.

Hi anyone can help me here,
I need to know what is the voltage and current for charging a xda2. I am looking at modifying a nokia phone car charger to charge my xda2. From what i have read, it the output 5V and 2A (i took this from the cradle) but can the current be lower than 2A to charge. Thanks.
I do not know how you could do this, but have you tried this?
http://www.pdamods.com/proddetail.asp?prod=XDACC
It is a car charger and sync cable in one, so looks like good value..
5-6V, 500 mA should do it.
Just take care you use the correct polarity on the connector.
Car charger for XDA2
Why bother? Standard O2 USB sunc cable is only £12 from eXpansys and will charge the XDA from any powered USB port (eg your laptop/desktop) and you can buy generic cig lighter USB adapters for about £8. No risk, no hassle

Because there are always people who like to experiment.
And why throw something old away if it can be adapted for something new with minimal effort?
Good answer!!

Yes it can. All the old XDA stuff was only 1A. A USB port (powered without external power) is in the region of 500ma.
The only thing with lowering the current is that tha XDA2 is sensetive to discharge.i.e. less than 25% battery power and it wont charge via USB!!
Hope this helps.

Thanks all for the help. I think my only answer to not spending the dollar is more towards wire management. My current charger wire is retractable and when i am not using it, it retracts back and keep the dahboard clean & neat. As i charge my BT and also xda2 in my car, the number of wires sticking out is quite messy. Not sure if all has the same problem but it's just me wanting to be neat.

Hi Pete... Well... i don't think this is the case... pls look at this post
... i've got the solution to the non-charge bug... the XDA II will charge regardless of the battery level...
Best regards,
I'm going to look stupid here, but ...
Received HD today in USA and wanted to charge it. But I do not know HOW ???!!!!
I plugged USB cord into HD itself, and other end - into AC Adapter.
Now AC Adapter looks strange to me ... the pins are INSIDE of adapter, so I cannot plug it into the wall electric outlet !
I do not have any plug to put it into AC Adapter! It suppose to come with one ?
What do I do now ?

Did you plug the power-pin adapter into the AC adapter? You have to put the wall-adapter onto the AC charger itself, then connect the usb cord to the ac adapter, then plug in the phone...
Petrov.
I just received mine today too. The piece that goes into the wall plugs into to piece that you plug the USB cable into. Now the plug that comes with the HD is for the UK or maybe Europe in general I am not sure. Mine came with an adapter that plugs into the two round pins that come standard with the HD. I hope that is clear. In other words if you did not get an adapter that looks like a regular two bladed electrical plug then you will have to get one or you will have to plug it into your computer for now.

That power-pin adapter which I suppose to plug into the wall AND into AC adapter ... it suppose to come with the package ?
Where can I buy USA plug that I can insert into wall outlet (one end) and other end goes to HTC HD AC Adapter ?

go to bestbuy or circuit city or radio shack and purchase a wall charger for the motorola razr. that will work, too.

early on, some owners noted that the HD wouldn't charge that way, even though the display said it was charging.
Don't recall if we ever got to the bottom of if it was via direct USB socket on the PC, or via a USB hub - but basically the phone wasn't getting the full (5.5v?) voltage from the PC.
To charge the HD from the mains, you need 3 pieces of kit, which should all have come in the box.
1) the USB lead
2) a small box sized unit, about 5cm by 3cm by 3cm. It has a USB socket on one end, and the other end has 2 prongs inside a cut out section.
3) the plug bit. This should look like a regular plug, but on the back (the other side to the prongs), you have just a small box, with 2 holes in it. These holes align with the 2 prongs on item 2 above.
Slide 3 into 2, and 1 into 2 too
Depending on where the HD was sourced from, them item 3 may have 3 prongs (if its UK spec) - which obviously won't fit into a US socket.
The writing on item 2 seems to indicate that it will take an inout voltage of 100 - 240V - 0.2A 50-60Hz.
No idea if this means it will work with US mains voltage, sorry.

Mine does, I've never charged it off the mains
Having said that, a lot of motherboards don't allow charging off them, for whatever reason. Maybe they shut down power if there's no data connection after a while, or don't provide enough current etc etc.
could be
Mine seems to charge ok off the (powered) USB hub - but some owners have reported that theirs didn't
I'm just paranoid about batteries (probably overly so!), and like to make sure that the very first charge is a blinking good one
Thats not an issue with lithium ion or lithium polymer batteries, they dont have a memory effect, the first change is not important.

It seems that I'm missing piece# 3 - the plug. Is this some specific plug for HTC HD, or generic ?
If it is special for HTC HD - where can I find it ?
I recommend purchasing the TC P300 International Travel Charger Kit. It's available on Expansys or HTC's accessory store. It's the highest quality kit available and the TC P300 is the actual charge provided with the Touch HD. You only get the EU or UK plug. I could not find a kit of just plugs. A cheaper alternative is the HTC TC P200 International Travel Charger. Also, available from HTC accessory store or Expansys.
This is driving me nuts. Go to an electronics store Best Buy, Future Shop, Circuit City, and take your charger with you, they will hook you up. You might even be able to get a universal charger, I think the ones for Iphones have a USB attachment on them.
I have plenty of USB chargers, so I don't mind UK plug. You may buy a new 1000mAh USB charger here: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.25 just for $5.25 or just adapter for $3.46 http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.17840
Any recommendations on what I should do to keep my TF charged while in Europe? Do I just need a turn-around or do I need more than that? Thanks!
You can just use an adapter that changes the plug into the european standard and it'll charge fine.
Yes, no problem as been told.
Just a plug adapter. The AC charger will accept the 220 Vac that a lot of countrys supply without problems.
Regards.
I bought a mojo w/o any accessories for around 80€. Since the power supply is also missing I'd like to have the exact dimensions of the on-board socket as well as the power specs for the supply itself. On the FCC test sheet I read something about 5.2v and 3000mA.What about the Watts? Would it be possible to power it via an iPad USB charger if i had a matching male USB to whatever dimension plug? The iPad Charger comes with 2100mA. Could anyone post the exact specs of the stock power supply? Thanks in advance!

Hi,
That info is correct, the wattage doesn't matter, it's what the mojo draw's and can fluctuate on load ( I think anyway).
Power supply has: +5.2 @ 3A (neg external, pos internal)
The plug dimensions, you'll have to test on your mojo , but it's a common one, found on many multi-adpter and other adapters.
Maybe call up a second hand shop, they sometimes have a box of random adapters.
If you can find a power supply with the same spec, that fits, it will work, if the -/+ are reversed you can just, cut, reverse the wires and tape it up.
Good luck.
Edit: 2100mA isn't good enough, it will work but crash on load.
Thanks for your help! I'll get an universal power supply matching these specs today.

I pulled out my MOJO after letting it collect dust for a few years and can't find the power cord. I searched for hours for a replacement and then for something matching those specs but I'm really confused by them so I really need help. @zeyentology did you manage to find a power supply for yours and if you did could you send an Amazon link or anywhere else I could find one? If not can anyone tell me what exactly I need the power supply to read because the specs on my MOJO just don't line up to the power supplies I can find. Thanks anyone for any kind of help!!!

***Edit***I see in an above post the 5v3a should work. I'm still convened about the plug though. So if anyone can send a link to one they know or think will work I would really appreciate it!! Thanks again!
This is a very old thread revived not long ago and one of very few results in multiple google searches. But am posting with helpful information to complete the discussion.
A 5v supply with 2.3 amps or more will work. The MOJO lists on the sticker as 2.5 watts max which is absolutely wrong. I am currently using a power supply from a USB hub. It is old so won't bother with model numbers.
Jack size is 3.5x1.35mm. If it is needed, the depth is just shy of 8.5mm.
Here is a supply that would work.

Anyone know how this would be charged in the UK? Are there special USB-C chargers, would a shaver adaptor work with that 2 pin charger the phone comes with?
I already have a USB 3.1 hub with charging ports so using the cable on it's own should be fine just want a plug charger for in the work.
I live in the UK, my two prong adapter is plugged into a shaver/euro adapter and it works fine.
Thanks for that, just wondered if a shaving adaptor would be able to handle the power required but I suppose a shaver's power requirements are probably comparable to a phone
Go to Sainsburys. You can buy a European to UK adapter, rated at 10watts. Lot safer than shaver plugs
BTW I read yours has not come yet. Mine came with a separate box, I wasn't expecting with a proper UK charger in. I looked at the zuk official website and they have the fast charge ones for this - 5.3v +2amps. Or might be 3amps..the one that is in the box is not a fast charge. I got some plugs off Amazon that send power down the data usb wire. They just plug in line and help alot
