Lollipop OTA just dissapears?? What gives? - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I was on 4.4.2 and rooted. Started getting OTA notifications about lollipop a few days ago. So, I reverted to stock/flashed KDZ. Now my phone is unrooted, stock 4.4.2 again (clean install, with factory reset).
Now, for some reason, when I go to Settings > System Updates to look for lollipop (or any update), it doesn't find anything! Same exact phone, same exact software (VS98027A).
Why is it saying my phone is up to date when just a few hours ago it was finding Lollipop??

you should have DL'd it and pulled from your phone. Are you sure it was LP?

It did download--every time. But of course I didnt back it up (not that I'd know where it downloaded to anyway) since I naturally thought there would still be an update to find after i flashed the phone.
I can't be 100% sure which update it was, but it was at LEAST a couple hundred megs, most likely more.

4.3 ota prompt popping up after already updated

Hey all,
I installed the 4.3 ota update back when it was first released in August, and it was rooted, lost root and rerooted. Nothing else I have changed.
Today is the 3rd time since updating back then has my phone recieved the ota prompt. First time I just went through and it restarted. 2nd time it gave a boot error and this time it just restarted the os. Like I said it doesnt come often but I just wanted to know if anyone has had this issue and Im going to assume I need to wipe the phone and a stock image?

[Q] Why can't I seem to take Sprint OTA?

I've tried to take the sprint OTA several times now. I'm normally rooted and de-bloated. But I've tried unrooting and un-de-bloating my phone, but the update always seems to fail. It seems to start flashing then suddenly reboots and I'm back to normal, but no update. At this point am I going to have to manually flash my updates?

Note 4 Update Dilemma

Hey guys,
New here, obviously.
My note 4 is currently running 4.4.4, around 2 weeks ago, my friend accidentally hit update on my phone while he was using it, instead of "do not remind me" which I always pressed, cos I never wanted to update to lollipop. Now, the update has been downloaded and the notification to install the update cannot be removed (application settings are greyed out).
Have tried the method of clearing cache in recovery mode, but to no avail.
So my options now are to either install the damned update, in which case I'm wondering if it's still really problematic and irritating.
Or I can factory reset the phone and (hope) the update file will be removed and I can just disable the update stuff.
Thanks for any help in advanced.
i think factory resetting will fix this and then you can disable the update stuff. Don't worry you can always flash stock 4.4.4 firmware even if you update. (unless you update to coj5 build of 5.1.1 which makes downgrading impossible)

sm t337a suddenly started freezing ALOT, touchwiz

I have an At&t (though no at&t mobile service currently) Samsung tab 4 8inch. In the last few days it has started freezing SEVERAL times a day. it doesnot matter what app, its likely to freeze on any of them. I would say it probably happens most when Im backing out/exiting an app. When it freezes I can stilll shut screen off but when I turn it back on I am just where it froze -not lock screen, it wont acknowledge plugging charger in, and cant click restart. Touchwiz has stopped message may or may not come up, but I cannot click on it even if it does. The ONLY way I can shut it down then is down vol +power for about 15seconds. Then it restarts and may do it 5 minutes later or 5hours later.
It just started this suddenly. I also had not just installed anything.
If a custom ROM or something would fix it, I wouldnt mind doing that if someone could possibly give me the link(s) to 1 that works for this model and links to how to do so/what I need.
I dont know if it is related or not, but about 3 or 4 days before this started, by battery life & battery charging went suddenly TOTALLY to hell.
Please help me fix this irritating &aggravating problem. Thank you very much for your time &assistance!
There are no custom ROMs for the SM-T337A unfortunately. Is your tablet on KitKat or Lollipop and are you rooted?
You should back up your internal storage and then factory reset and wipe cache in stock recovery. If you are rooted, you should remove system apps that you don't need with titanium backup or something similar. If you are on KitKat you might want to consider either updating to lollipop or factory resetting and reflashing the stock KitKat firmware with Odin.
No im not rooted. However i would like to, but didnt know there was a method of rooting the t337a.

Settings > About device > Android version. If it says 4.4.2 it's kitkat, if it says 5.1.1 it's lollipop
Thanks for the help.
Yes its kitkat then because it says 4.4.2 . I think 1st I'll go ahead and search how to update it to Lollipop then go from there... Does that sound like a wise decision to you??
STOOPID Question: I went to the posts at bottom of your posts (granted, I didnt go thru all 59 pages, lol) but I have a brain-fart question... would I try to root and then update to lollipop or vice-versa??
I have found temp root for lollipop. Just look in the general section. As you wouldn't be able to ota lollipop while rooted anyways.

Can I downgrade from stock nougat? Or..

Hey there so recently I have upgraded to stock nougat but I'm getting tired of the lag I'm getting on it, I'm getting it more so than MM before. I didn't bother with custom firmware before as I could tolerate the lag on MM and I could use android pay.
Now browsing around the forums I have gathered that there is a chance if I downgrade it could brick the phone? Am I stuck with the stock firmware for the moment?
Is there any way that I can improve the phone's performance in the mean time?
(I have cleared the cache, it improved for a few days until it went to the normal lag again)
I downgraded the other day just fine from stock 7.0 to stock 6.0.
gpt.bin and bootloader.bin cannot downgrade once updated to the latest (I just ignored the errors and went ahead). Everything else flashed with no errors.
Once back on MM 6.0 I reflashed Lineage OS 14.1. Wasn't impressed with stock 7.0 like I thought I would be.
Just remember, if you downgrade there is no going back to Nougat, and if you happen to mistakenly update via OTA it is instant hard brick... at least until we can manage to get a full factory firmware image of Nougat.
Honestly, if you are willing to go that far, why not start with a simple factory reset?
Factory reset is a must with this update to 7.0 anyone willing to downgrade vs trying a factory reset needs their head examined.
