well im sure some of you have read post from this guy. about how he is able to read files from his eight gb sd card in is uni even tho it only says 2 gb on his device. has anyone else gotten one of these supposed magical cards and tried it out? i searched on ebay and it seems to be that only one guy has or sells this specific card . is nuclear advertising for this guy , is he a scammer or is this true and we dont know about it yet. please give input if you have gotten one of these cards and have tested it out.
Even all those 4GB SD-cards are already non-standard and not working in most of the devices. From 4GB upwards they have to be SDHC-cards (SD 2.0) which are not supported by the Universal's reader. Sure, it would be possible to manufacture 8GB SD-cards, but it's very unlikely that they work in a lot of devices since SD was never meant to have more than 2GB.
Cheers,

well i just saw today that a treo that was supposedly not able to support sdhc is now able to because of a firmware update. check engadgetmobile.com if that can be done with a treo why not the universal. if its a software problem im sure there are people in here that are able to help
Sorry about my long post but i am trying to give as much information as i can in one post.
I am requesting ROM builders to start firmware upgrades to support these 4GB and 8GB cards. Windows Crossbow doesnt support 4GB or 8GB SD only cards, instead it reads them and reformats them changing the firmware of the card to 2GB!!!!... I havent tried SDHC yet. Here are pictures of my 4GB Extreme III SanDisk SD only card. I couldnt upload it here so i zipped them and uploaded them to rapidshare. Helmi's AKU 3.5 ROM doesnt read a card formatted using Crossbow... i dont know its just too many details. I cant think. But I just want to let you guys know that you are right so far on your research. Keep the good work up!
http://rapidshare.com/files/8938902/sandisk_tech_support.zip
I emailed sandisk tech support these images. It seems they havent replied yet. Keep a track on all my threads as i keep posting about these cards everywhere.
Trust me its just because i have a lot of money that i am able to get my hands on these things. And i just keep posting my observations. I would even get my hands on the 32GB card if I could bribe the CEO of SanDisk.
It got reformatted to 2GB.. I am unable to make it 4GB again.
My 8GB card as you can see in pictures on ebay is a samsung make. Its also SD only. 8GB SDHC cards are available to be bought. They are a bit slower then normal SD cards and are cheaper too.
32GB cards will be coming soon in SD or SDHC i believe. I read it in news. Like its totally upto you to believe me or not, my information is very helpful to me but i still encounter problems and it seems not even sandisk can help me
Anyways so its a farse that Universal's SD card readers dont support SDHC. And you can file a lawsuit on SanDisk or Samsung for that. They just want you to spend more money into buying a SDHC card reader.... Truly its the ROM.
ok now i know u r full of shyt. u keep popsting that u have this card and it works but i have yet to see ne photos. u just like the attention u get from lieing through ur teeth. thats pretty sad
i dont know about the 8bg but my 4gb is working no probs,
doesnt matter if its empty, only used 900mb, or any amount in between empty or full, screen grab using SPB explorer of my current card status:
oh and to stop arguments there is no reason why nuclear couldnt download the demo of spb explorer then do a screen grab of his mem card section of memory just like i have in previous post!
so erm, as they say "get your cards out for the lads"
this is the card i got, dont know all the bull**** about this format that format, its slower etc, but this is quicker at loading tomtom sat nav up etc than my other card 1gb puremedia sd card, like i said 4gb, no problems http://www.mobymemory.com/proddetail.asp?prod=SD_MOBYMEMORY_4096_001

Daddy k, what's your ROM version info? My 4GB card won't work at all in my Jasjar. I suspect a ROM upgrade will fix this, can you confirm it? Thanks! Cheers,

I have been using a MyFlash Turbo SD - 4 GB for quite some time. I use it for converted dvd movies, mp3, photos, programs, GPS maps. It is 90% full.
It works very well for me.

8GB SD cards work for some people and doesnt work for other people. The best i know it works in digital cameras.

I don't know that I come to the same conclusion after reading the thread in the link. It seems questionable at best since two of the posters specifically said it did not work for them.
SDHC compliant devices work with SDHC cards, SD devices do not.
You may be lucky to get one that you can read from, but an SD device will not write to it without screwing it up.
The Universal is SD not SDHC

Yo thats a SD card not a SDHC lol. in the email you said SDHD...now you say SDHC... lol
this is total bull, i have came to two conclusions after reading all these post.
1 -now it seems like the only person that sells this specific card that nuclear has is fastmemoryman and he is advertising for him. IF that is the case then i tell u guys not to deal with this scammer cause i bought from him before and was sent a 2 gb card disguised as a 4.
2- Nuclear does indead have a 8 gb card from samsung and is able to put his dvd in it but because sd 2.0 IS backward compatible as i have read it from several sites you are able to use only 4 gb of the 8. so he is putting his dvd in the card but only one movie,
those are the only two possible conclusion there is . so if its not number 1 then its number 2

Yup i think its #2 .... goddamn crossbow screwed up my 8GB card!... Alan knows it. Dont call me a scammer alright... first i am helping you and then you call me a scammer.
Don't bring me into this, I only know what you keep telling me, and what you post here.
I have no way of verifying what you say, one minute things work, one minute they don't, one minute you are developing a crossbow rom, the next you have one from another device.
It might be the language barrier, but half the time it sounds like you tell different stories from one thread to the next.

I'm really not certain about this, but their a limit on the size SD card our hd2's can support. (Either 16 or 32gb which is what I'm uncertain of) try formatting your new SD card into two 16 gb partitions and then see what happens.
Hopefully either that helps or someone with more knowledge than I will comment and give you a better answer

Well the limit is definitely not 16gb because I have one of those and it works fine in Android but it for some reason cannot boot SD Android. Also, if I'm not mistaken MarkAtHome (I've seen him in many of the NAND threads, especially NexusHD2) has a 64GB SDXC card as he was posting something about that a while ago. He'd have to confirm though.

Where did you get your memory card?? You son are a victim of false advertisement. I purposely purchased a "cheap" 16GB sd card from ebay and it wasnt even bigger than like 300MB. There are ways to fake the memory size, and thats why when you try to put the music on your card is says its not there because there truly isnt any physical memory available. And also why it gives those weird readouts. Sorry to bust the news :/

There have been threads discussing how certain sd cards do not perform well in android devices, including the HD2. It has to do with some of the access times the cards are rated at.
I have tested a 32gb patriot class 10 card in the HD2 and samsung vibrant that made both phones freeze and run terribly slow until the card was removed.
Sandisk cards run flawlessly in the HD2 and I have only been using them for the past year, including a 32gb and a 64gb SDXC. The 64gb must be formatted as fat32 inside the phone before it can be used, but the full 64gb is available.

I agree with elesbb. Infact the same thing had happened to me about 4 years ago. What they do it put a memory hack in the SD card fooling it to think there is more memory. I would say if you bought it from ebay contact the seller first and
tell them you think it might be fake and you wish to get a real card asap. If they don't send you one or sound like they may be un-willing to then you should report them. Here's some information found on ebay's site about fake memory cards.
If you bought it from a different online seller you should still contact them about it and say you did some research and believe you recieved a counterfit item. In the link i shared above there are a few examples of how to spot fake cards including some pictures if you go through the links. I've read somewhere that if you have a sandisk and the class rating is in the corner then you more then likly have a counterfit one. Sandisk's class ratings should be centered in the middle of the SD card.
Okay, i've just sent email to him, hopefully he will just re-send me new, (working..?) or give money back!
So I have a few questions. I recently just got a Samsung Galaxy S4 Active and I have a Sandisk Ultra 32gb class 10 UHC-1 MicroSDHC card that was previously in a rooted Motorola Photon running CM10. I already wiped all the data and it is almost ready to put in the S4, I just wanted to reformat it just for the piece of mind and to restore it to out of the box condition. While I was googling how to reformat it to make sure I did it exactly right, I came across a bunch of forums on how Sandisk microSD's malfuntion and don't seem to work right in Samsung smart phones. Specifically the Galaxy line and the Note's. Has anyone experienced this problem? And is there anyone out there that has one of these cards in an S4 that actually works properly? I was so excited to gain 32 more gb of storage space on my phone, and now I'm scared =[ looks like I may have bigger problems now than just reformatting the card.
But speaking of reformatting. How do I reformat this card properly? And I also read that you should format it as exFAT? is that right? And I also read that formatting it through Windows can mess it up as Windows reformats it to work best with their system, not for phones. So is there a program anyone can recommend to use to reformat it? And could you also please give step by step instructions on how to reformat on said program. Like down to every option I should select, or shouldn't select. I want to make sure I do this exactly right and don't mess up my card. Especially with all of these horror stories I've been hearing.
Thanks =]
I haven't seen a specific thread/posts on doing this. Google didn't help much.
I would recommend, however, getting a 64gb Samsung card from Amazon. Already exFat and works perfectly. Very fast--
Samsung Electronics 64GB Pro microSDXC Extreme Speed (UHS-1) Class 10 Memory Card (MB-MGCGB/AM)
The Sandisks, some anyway, have had problems--
Ehh.. I dont really need a 64gb card and don't really want to pay extra for space I dont need. Also I'm confused about exFAT. Ive seen a lot of posts on that as well and have read thst exFAT doesn't play nice in smartphones and that the only time it's really recommended is if you're rooted and on a custom ROM, which I'm not. I just gave up on reformatting and just put it in my phone last night as-is. It was completely wiped, so good enough. I don't want to take the chance messing with any of that. So far its been fine. But from what I've read it usually doesn't strike until a few months later. For right now I will keep my photos set to save on the internal just in case and the only thing im really going to put on the card is music, which I can easily get back off the computer if the card fails. Worst comes to worst sandisk has a lifetime warrenty and I have a reciept of the purchase so if anything happens I will just buy a 32gb Samsung or go with sandisk again. Apparrently the issue was with the ultra cards manufactured before or in December 2012 (which mine was). I also can't confirm this as I only saw one person say it in one forum, and it was neither confirmed nor denied by anyone else, but I saw someone say recently, I think last month, that the most recent huge update At&t pushed fixed the problem with Sandisk cards. So hopefully thats true. I guess I will just wait and see. Lol

As an update I have seen it mentioned to take card out of phone and put in card reader. Then plug into pc, right click and your will have your format choices. Also, there are Formatter programs to dl from web too. Been so long since I did that--kinda forgot--lol
I have recently reformatted my 32 gig card to exfat. Only been a week but no problems so far. Why did I? Because I down load movies that are over 4 gig on accasion. Plain fat doesn't let you store more than 4 gig. Hope that helps. Took me a while to figure out why my file transfers kept falling.

Hi.
I recently bought myself a 64GB class 10 Sandisk card from Amazon which I was going to use with my Note 3. When I first put it in I formatted the card in the phone. And then I took a few pictures and videos and all seemed to work fine.
The next day when I was taking some photos it suddenly switched over to the internal memory and I got the message that it was unable to save to SD card. I checked the gallery and the last picture i took was corrupted. So after this I tried taking the card out with the phone turned off, put it back in and started the phone. I was able to take some photos but when I was going to record a video it corrupted the file again.
After this I put the card in my PC and did a full format to exFAT and tried filling all ~59GB with pictures, videos and other files and from what I could see no files were corrupted.
Then I formatted it once again in my PC to exFAT and put it in the phone. After a few pictures it once again corrupted the files, even the camera app (default one) crashed at one point. Formatted the card in my phone again but same problem.
I then tried the card in my Gopro camera, first formatted it in the camera then recorded several videos in both 4K, 1440P, 1080P and took several pictures and everything was fine.
I'm not sure but the card seems to be working in other devices. Do you think the problem is the card or my phone? Before this I've used a 16GB class 4 Sandisk card with no problems at all.
Any tips on what I can do?
Thank you in advance!

Yeah I've tried that a few times as well and it didn't help. But as I mentioned the card seems to work just fine it other devices. But in my note 3 files get corrupted.
Do you know of any program or any other way to test/confirm that it is the card that's bad?

What write and read speeds were you getting in the PC? The Sandisk models are among the most faked models and that is by far the most frequent problem that I have seen. There have been also certain batches with problems, but Sandisk is always replacing those almost no questions asked if it is a genuine card.
I also have a 64GB Sandisk Ultra which was used about 1 year in my i9300 and now almost 4 months in the N9005 and so far I have never had any problems (but I am keeping an eye on the 128 GB models if those seriously go down in price).

I just ran a test in the program H2testw 1.4 and got these results:
Warning: only 60872 of 60874 MByte tested.
Test finished without errors.
You can now delete the past files *.h2w or verify them again.
Writing speed: 8.49 MByte/s
Reading speed: 17.5 MByte/s
H2testw v1.4
So the reading speeds seems fine I guess, it also filled the card with files and verified it.
I would assume that if it was a fake it would have slower speeds and maybe only 2-4GB of space?
I am using the SD card adapter that came with the SD card, and then I put it in a USB SD card adapter in a USB 2.0 port.
Is anyone else having problems with 64GB SD cards? It's as if my Note 3 wasn't compatible with the card since it is working fine in other devices and isn't a bad card according to the test I did.
Sorry .deleted.
Sounds like a hardware fault on the Note 3... I've been using both a sandisk and a samsung 64gb class 10 card on both my note 3's with no problems from the start...
Never had a problem with file corruption....
sdhc and sdxc are 2 different formats - sounds like you could use a 32gb sd card fine but it has issues with the 64gb sd card.... 64gb sd card is the newer format sdxc....
Unfortunately here you hit a snag... Unless the samsung sites list 64gb as ok to use on the Note 3 then they may just say to to warranty repairs.... If 64gb is the listed size (generally "up to ") you should have no problem. It does sound like your card reader doesn't like sdxc... Unless you can get your hands on another 64gb sd card to find out you not be able to use your 64gb sd card...
Hello there,
My Sd Card Recently unmounted unsafely through boot.
I was using the rom Omega v25, SD was damaged.
Is there any solution to fixing it?
I had tried formatting it but there is no media to format.
Any help would be appreciated.
I can not see it in recovery totally invisible, Ive tried mounting it through Phone settings and it will not mount.
Can not mount it through recovery either.
It does not show up in Partition Wizard for me to change the format.
I Have attached a Image for what it shows in disk management.

Simply buy a Samsung SD, format it using Fat32, don't look back

Ridata yes. Isnt enough good for you? Or you only know Samsung maybe? Rude. Learn some culture. Ridata is a subcompany of Ritek (but you dont know nothing about either for sure, lol) around the world, no only of SD Cards: HERE
*EDIT: Im not here for waste my time with idiotic people. Bye then :highfive:
Yes yes yes... if I can add, I'm just awaiting for my super duper 128GB micro SDXC card which will be delivered to me by man with big red flag and trumpet, followed by special courier riding the golden donkey. They have to move slowly on motorways, so they are moving in the police escort, but today, finally, I will have my card.
did I mentioned that it will have the warranty covering the lifetime of 4 generations?
Going back to topic: I always think that ppl can be divided into the two categories:
Cat 1: those who are making backups regularly;
Cat 2: those who will learn that they shall do...

Of course I know Ritek. A brand that also makes writeable media. A brand I also avoid like the plague as it's substandard.
So, still waiting for an a-brand micro SD card, 32GB, 5 pounds.
Anxious!!!
