Speaker phone, volume, headphone jack issue - Verizon Motorola Droid Turbo General

Whelp today I made a phone call on my turbo, and while on the call pressed the speaker phone button and it didn't work. Didn't think much of it at that moment. Then later did a hangouts call with a friend, and still the speaker phone didn't work. Tried using my ear-buds and they didn't work either. My other pair didn't work as well. Also turning down the volume didn't work for some odd reason. Finally i ended up restarting the phone and everything seemed to be fine again. Anyone have any idea what could have caused this. Anyone else have these issues happen?

It happens when you takeout the headphones slowly or something and the software or hardware thinks they are still inserted hence why speaker doesn't work. Has happened to me twice. It's not a big deal and a restart works fine back to normal.

JASJAR SOUND PROBLEM

Hi,
Am using a Jasjar. One fine morning the phone stopped ringing. No sound from the speakers at all. Though I could hear the other side on recieving or making calls. My voice does not go.
I sent it for repairs to I mate service center in Dubai (am in mumbai), Got back the machine working today. After making 5-6 calls ,the same problem has started again.
Please advice.
thanks ,
AT.
sounds like they didnt fix it, my 5.1 amp has just done similar, well not similar, but similar issue lol, grrrr
amp stopped doing video, sent to yamaha for repairs, got it back !!!AFTER 2 MONTHS WAITING!!! 2 weeks later its doing it again.
Back to Dubai it goes then! This time, try to shout enough so that they actually fix it.
A quick suggestion: (just in case)
In some cases people have had problems with sound loss from their Universals caused by the headphone jack. The sensor that identifies whether a headphone is plugged in is faulty and cuts out the speaker sound.
You could try putting a headphone jack into the socket and wiggling it, or plugging it in and out a few times. That might fix it.
I've had the same problem too a couple of times. I found that it was something weird with the battery actually. It always seemed to happen when I switched batteries. Everything would work fine except the audio. I could make a call but the other side couldn't hear me. When I would "click" on anything like Start all I would hear is a small popping sound. I found that if I took the battery back out, and then put it back in and made sure it was securely set in place & locked it the sound would work again. Sometimes I would have to do that twice before it would work again. I'm not sure if it really is a battery thing or something else that gets jiggled when I put a new battery in/out but that's what's worked for me. Hope that helps.

Stuck in Headset mode

Hey,
Was using my trinity yesterday like normal, and all of a sudden a call came through and i answered like normal but had no sound. The other person could not hear me either.
This continued for all calls and all sounds of any kind. Found a thread of a person who had the same problem and he still had use of the phone when the headset was plugged in.
So plugged mine in and sure enough the phone works fine. Its like it is completely stuck in headset mode.
Anyone else experience this or have a solution? Haven't done a hardreset yet but im guessing that is my next option
Thanks,
Mike
I have a similar issue.
No sound at all coming from the phone ear-speaker. But if I turn the phone speaker on during a call it works fine.
I returned my D810 after the touch screen stopped working properly, got it back 3 weeks later and now this has happened. Only had it back one day!
my phone spontaneously started working again.
didnt hard reset, didn't really do anything except use it with the supplied headset for the night. It is physically impossible for those things to fit in a human ear, theyre useless.
Anyways I have no idea what happened or if it is going to happen again . . . .
Cheers

Most probably its a Hardware failure, your speakers might have faked out, check to confirm and get replaced.

MAJOR sound problem

Hi all,
yesterday, the following parts of my Uni stopped working properly:
- speakers
- phone speaker
- microphone
Not only was there no sound at all coming from the speakers, but when I made a phone call, I couldn't hear the other person and neither did they hear me. The phone was thus rendered pretty much useless. I didn't try it when making calls, but when I turned on music, it played without problems when I plugged in the headphones.
Reseting didn't help so I reflashed the unit.
Everything was fine wor a while, but then the problem occured again.
This time, reseting the device solves the problem, but only for a few minutes - then the sound stops working again. EDIT: oh and now I also discovered that it starts working again at some times for no obvious reason and goes back to not working in a short while *CONFUSED*
Does anyone have an idea what it could be caused by and how to solve it? Many thanks!
I had a similar problem earlier.Try putting ur headphone jack in and out a few times, this generally sorts out the problem. It has to do with a small pin in the headphone socket which diverts the sound to the headset when it is plugged in and the pin has to come back in position when the headset is disconnected. What happens is that the pin gets stuck,so even when u disconnect the headset,it still diverts the sound to headset mode.PM me for more details

try it with bluetooth, if all sounds work fine, then problem is with the receptacle for the headset jack.
Had this problem myself. Took phone apart and repaired.

Thanks, I guess the problem really was in the headset/external switch. It acted like crazy, switching back and forth for no reason, but when I tapped the headphone jack hard with my finger, it usually got ok.
And for the past few hours, the sound worked perfectly, so it hopefully is ok again now. If the problem comes back, I guess I will take it to the service center and get it repaired - I don't think I'd have the courage to do it myself
Anyway, thanks a lot for your help guys.

Can't hear others during a call - earpiece is down

I tried using a handfree and the phone works completely fine, just when on its own I cannot hear from the other side. The other side can hear me though.
I used the phone on its own one night, then without dropping it or whatever that earpiece just failed to work in the morning the other day. I tried hard reset and even ROM flash. How likely this issue to be a software crash?
Thanks!
jacky
I had exactly the same issue, had to send it to repair. Still waiting for it to come back.
