[Q] OTA 5.0.2. fails - Nexus 10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

OTA from 5.0.1 to 5.0.2. fails. After reboot, all I see is a robot on his back with a red exclamation mark and the message "error".
After a couple of minutes, the nexus reboots to 5.0.1.
Bootloader is locked, but root checker shows device is rooted.
Is there any way to be able for OTA to complete?
TIA

Download the whole 5.0.2 factory image and flash it with wugs toolkit and set it to no wipe mode. I did it and it works fine.

Same happened to me. OTA failed twice and kept trying to boot to recovery and then eventually into system.
I just downloaded the factory image and then manually fastboot flashed everything except data (to keep my apps/settings). All is good

4.2.1 Update error, now I can't boot.

As a disclaimer I was on rooted stock 4.2, with 160 dpi. Restored backup of build.prop then went to install the system update (worked fine that way from 4.1.2 to 4.2), rebooted and almost instantly had the Android recovery logo with a red triangle and said error. Stuck on that screen, so I held the power button to turn it off, then when I tried to boot it up I just get the Nexus logo and it never boots. I went to bootloader tried to boot into recovery (clockwork) and it said it wasn't there or something.
What are my options?

A couple of things. You could boot into the bootloader and use fastboot to flash a custom recovery, then flash a ROM from there. Otherwise you could download the stock 4.2.1 images from Google and use fastboot to flash back to 100% stock and start over.
Wug's Toolkit may come in handy here if you're not comfortable or familiar with all the command line options.
Think I'm just going to flash the factory 4.2.1 image, will I be able to root 4.2.1?

[Q] Update to 4.2.2 Failed, now won't boot

Device is stock, unrooted, locked bootloader. The OTA update took a really reeeeeaaaallly long time and eventually upon reboot it got stuck on the "Android is optimizing apps" screen. The loading circle at that point was frozen and no longer animated. After an hour or so, I did a long press on the power button and it never booted normally again.
I put it in fastboot mode and tried all the usual steps, erased everything, but it failed on "bootloader locked." Tried to unlock the bootloader and it told me to buzz off (i.e. "FAILED - unknown error"). It won't flash recovery either and the stock recovery gives me the dead Android with the red triangle and "No Command."
Tried the Nexus tool kit and same deal.
The bootloader version is now 4.18 instead of 4.13.
So this thing is an ex-Nexus, right? Is there anything else I could do?

Kitkat failed to install and now I have no recovery

Last night I got KitKat OTA tried to install on Nexus 10, failed and got stuck at that boot screen with the circles. Tried to sideload still failed with some error 7. Tried to flash stock recovery over clockwork, failed the first time, said bootloader ok on the second and now when I boot recovery I just get an icon of the android on his back with the panel open. I just want to install 4.4 please what the hell do I do?
Thanks.
Download nexus 10 toolkit and flash 4.4.

If you do not need to keep your data, just grab the factory image here and extract and run the bat file.
If you can get to the stock recovery and still want to sideload the OTA, once you are the dead droid recovery, press Volume up and power at the same time and then select the "Apply Update from adb" and follow the instructions from the orange text that will appear at the bottom of the screen.
Be sure you have adb installed on your pc and that you can fastboot to your device.
Good luck.

[Q] Lost recovery/boatloader

Rooted/TWRP installed. Updated to 4.4.2, lost root. Rerooted with Wug's toolkit successfully, and I was able to put a TWRP backup on my laptop.
When I went to do a TWRP backup on the Nexus I got a supine robot with an open chest that had a red triangle surrounding an exclamation mark.
Now, if I do a boot to the recovery screen I get to choose "recovery" or "bootloader". However if I choose either one I am taken back to the "choose" page.
Suggestions? I wonder if the root toolkit wasn't ready to work with the update?

Lollipop update has bricked my nexus 4

I did an OTA update of Lollipop on my nexus 4, it got stuck on the 'installing system update' for about an hour, so I tried to restart the phone and it loaded the new lollipop animation, but got stuck there for 20 minutes, so i restarted it and it still didn't want to load into Lollipop, so I went into the bootloader and hit recovery and it came up with 'installing system update' again and still gets stuck. when i'm in the recovery, it won't recgonise vol + and power button press to do a factory reset, it just does nothing. my computer also doesn't recgonise the device... is there anything I can do?
Thanks!
Start into bootloader and try to flash the factory image via fastboot.
boot to fastboot and flash a custom recovery. you can use twrp or cwm to do a standard factory reset and you should be fine.
