Kitkat failed to install and now I have no recovery - Nexus 10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Last night I got KitKat OTA tried to install on Nexus 10, failed and got stuck at that boot screen with the circles. Tried to sideload still failed with some error 7. Tried to flash stock recovery over clockwork, failed the first time, said bootloader ok on the second and now when I boot recovery I just get an icon of the android on his back with the panel open. I just want to install 4.4 please what the hell do I do?
Thanks.

If you do not need to keep your data, just grab the factory image here and extract and run the bat file.
If you can get to the stock recovery and still want to sideload the OTA, once you are the dead droid recovery, press Volume up and power at the same time and then select the "Apply Update from adb" and follow the instructions from the orange text that will appear at the bottom of the screen.
Be sure you have adb installed on your pc and that you can fastboot to your device.
Good luck.

[Q] Cannot install rom

I have rooted my magic and have been trying to install CyanogenMod but I can't. This is what I have done so far.
1) Rooted the phone using Superoneclick. This was a success and I got superuser
2) I then installed mod manager and downloaded cyanogenmod
3) I chose to install cyanagen made a backup and wiped data
4) The phone restarted but hung on the red vodafone flash screen, it stayed this way for over 20mins
5) I got the phone working again but messing around with the battery turning it on and off
6) I then thought to install the mod from recovery and so I booted into recovery but I was met with a triangle and exclamation mark with a phone lying on the side
7) I got through this by holding home and power
8) I got into recovery but now I can't install because when I go to apply sdcard:update.zip I get the message E:signature verification failed Installation aborted
I have the update.zip in the root of the sdcard but nothing works. What can I do next? I have also tried to install custom recovery using this guide but when inputting this command: adb push C:\roottools\3.22Radio\recovery-RA-sapphire-v1.7.0G.img /sdcard
I get the message that it failes because sd card is a directory. Any suggestions as to what I can do would be most appreciated.

[Q] Stuck in Fastboot mode - fresh image

SOLVED!
Well, after installing 4.2 OTA update on my Nexus 7 everything went fine until I installed Franco's kernel from his app.
Then I got stuck on an infinite booting process. I tried to re-flash the OTA .zip but I got an error because of the modified kernel I had just installed.
In Franco's official thread I read that the problem got solved by flashing the boot.img included in the OTA update, so I extracted the "boot.img.p" in the zip, renamed it to "boot.img", turned the tablet in fastboot mode, connected it to my PC, in which I'm running the "Google Nexus 7 Toolkit", and flashed that boot.img. Instead of solving the problem, I've got a beautiful "Booting Failed" line in the fastboot mode.
I decided to go further and do a fresh install. I downloaded the 4.2 factory image directly from Google, and flashed it using "Google Nexus 7 Toolkit". Now I can't even access the recovery mode.
Is this toolkit what is messing things up? What would you recommend??
EDIT:
I re-downloaded the factory image, and re-flashed using the Toolkit. Now the process ended pretty well, but now I'm on a boot loop (the X has been glowing for 15 minutes and counting). Then, rebooted into bootloader mode and Installed the CWM recovery using the Toolkit. Rebooted into the new recovery, and after a full wipe, solved!
Hope this helps to someone someday.

[HELP}Nexus 4 Recovery Mode Issue

Alright guys this is pretty frustrating and scaring me completely.
I unlocked the bootloader no problem. Then I wanted to flash TWRP recovery by typing in this command "fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.3.2.3-mako.img" so I could root.
Then when I rebooted into bootloader mode and selected recovery I got the Android laying down with the red triangle exclamation mark.
So I downloaded the Nexus 4's factory image and re-flashed the stock recovery by typing fastboot flash recovery recovery.img and the same thing happens.
I even tried booting into stock recovery by typing fastboot boot recovery recovery.img and the same thing.
Any help will be appreciated and its urgent lol.
EDIT: FIXED! Forgot to type in fastboot erase cache after flashing TWRP. Not sure if it was required but I did and all is well now.
Thanks again guys
Thanks
Edit: Another issue - I installed CWM SuperSu v0.98 via TWRP and I hit reboot. Now I see the Google logo for a while. Then the Nexus logo. It doesn't boot into the actual phone. Still stuck on the Nexus logo. Any takes folks?
The android laying down with the red triangle is the stock recovery. You usually press volume up when on that screen to get stock recovery options.

Ya but even before when I flashed TWRP, I couldn't even get to TWRP. I went to the bootloader mode. Pressed the vol keys till I got to Recovery. Then I pressed the power button to select it and that's when I got the red triangle with the Android laying down both on stock and TWRP recoveries even when booting into the recovery vs flashing.

Hmm sounds like the same boot loader problem I had with the nexus 7 and it was fixed with the 4.1.2 update
Try flashing cwm recovery I normally don't use TWRP because I never really liked it too much but see if that works.
Okay so I was able to boot temporarily into TWRP by typing fastboot boot openrecovery-twrp-2.3.2.3-mako.img. Now I'll see if I can flash it... and try booting into recovery mode.People on the Nexus 4 Dev threads and on the Paranoid Android threads recommended TWRP since it works properly with Android 4.2 vs CWM and they said TWRP is a step better.
Mods please lock thread. Thanks

Could you please be more specific on how did you fix it?
I've got my N4 maybe a month ago, I installed the 4.2.2 OTA as soon as I got it, the I proceeded to unlock it and root it, one day someone recommended to clear the cache of the phone using the stock recovery (which I thought I had / to fix another problem that I was having) I went to fastboot and tried to access recovery, BOOM, just an android laying down with a red exclamation mark, no "no command" error at all. I downloaded CWM touch and flashed it using Nexus Root Toolkit, that worked fine, but I didn't want a custom recovery and also I needed to fix a 3G latency problem that I was having, after some reading I saw that someone recommended a full flash using the stock google image.
A couple of days I proceeded to flash the factory image, I installed it, after that I did a factory reset from android itself. After doing all that I wanted to clear the cache with the stock recovery just in case, BOOM, an an android laying down with a red exclamation mark and this time with a "no command" error. Tried the trick of holding the power and pressing the volume up, NOTHING HAPPENS!
Right now I am using CWM Touch.
Any suggestion?
Thank you.

[Q] Stuck on "Google" screen during 4.4 OTA -Tmobile/NoRoot/TotallyStock

I selected to install 4.4 from my OTA notification and after it restarted my phone and then had the animation of an Android working it then went to the black screen with the white "Google" and it has been stuck there ever since. I held down the power key for ten seconds and it restarted and seems to be stuck in a bootloop. I tried entering recovery but i get a broken android animation saying i believe "no command"
So what can I do?
My phone was stock, so this should have been a simple update right?
I am pretty much a noobie.
I followed a step by step set of instructions for sideloading the update via a zip file, but when I get to the point I need to enter recovery mode nothing happens, i cant get to where i need to be. And my computer doesnt see my phone anymore when I plug it in via USB
Any advice would be greatly appreciated
thanks
Sideload the flashable zip of stock rom or any rom with the same android version in recovery ( guide )
Then flash back stock factory images (optional) ( guide ).

Good luck.

[Q] Nexus 4 stuck in No Command bootloop after Kit Kat OTA update

So, my phone was stuck in No Command bootloop. I’ve done the power+volume up and had cleared cache and even done a factory reset. Those did nothing and my phone is still in stuck No Command loop. I think I’ve made it even worse by trying to Flash Recovery and Reboot options in the Nexus Tool Kit because my phone won’t even get to the No Command screen. It just turns on and turns off after Google comes on. Currently it stuck in that loop and only stops once the battery is completely drained. Please help.
Same problem here (ROOTED NEXUS 4)
Hi yeah I have the same problem as you just to clarify all i see is the new kitkat 4.4 logo over and over again I tried to factory reset it using TWRP didn't work. I think that the mistake I did was once TWRP installed the new system I clicked on "restart system" instead of "restart bootloader". Its still stuck at that stage and wont get past the bootscreen plzzz help
Hold vol down and power........can you get to download mode?

like the above poster has mentioned you will probably have to get into bootloader mode and then factory images...

My power + down volume brings me to FastBoot Mode. So only, Start, Power Off Restart bootloader and Recovery mode are the only available option. Recovery Mode does nothing but bring me to the Google loop. Also what do I need and do exactly for "factory images?" I'm a total newb here.

Think about whether noon or expert your first step is to search your issue. Where do you find factory images for a nexus 4 well search that. How to flash factory images search that. I am driving so can't point you to it but do t hide behind noob tag you caaaaaan doooo it...
It just feels so overwhelming and hard to dissect which of the hundreds of hundreds of posts is what I'm truly looking for.
Anyways, I've been reading this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2010312
I also have Nexus Tool Kit by skipsoft.
Hello,
I have the same problem with "no commands" screen...
Later, I tried to update with "OTA.zip" file from recovery mode (apply update from ADB), but I got this error:
"set_metadata_recursive: some changes failed
E:Error in /tmp/update.zip
(Status 7)"
I guess I can flash a clean image from flashboot, but before that I would like to recover all my data :S
How could I backup the device if adb is just working in recovery mode where I can just execute sideload commands?
(I have root, but I have not custom recovery)
All kind of help will be welcome!
Thanks!
IS ADB something I have to download?
Same "no command" here after OTA (I am forced ota and I think this was the problem)
I solved flash manually stock room of 4.4 KitKat then I rooted with nexus toolkit (I lost 7 hours of my life find the solution)
What I caught "never force framework in future", have you forced too guys?
