I've installed this value added installer and it changed my whole phone to arabic. How do I get it back to english?
well the only way to solve the problem is to install the whole rom.. i.e. rom in english.. if thats difficult you can live with two lnguages.. in programs go to multilingual support.. unclick disable multilingual support then set ur language to English with arabic support

Don't panic mate. You can still return some english parts of it but not all. Try this first:
1.) Go to the Settings tab (that's the last tab in the slider, far right after the footprints tab)
2.) Count 10 from the very top of the settings and click it.
3.) From there Choose the 1st menu and try to choose english from the 1st drop downlist.
If this doesn't help just try to download this stock rom:

or if that is not the stock rom that you are using try to search here:

That happened to me before, i have managed to put back some english parts but still it's irritating if you cant understand something that you are seeing on your phone. I have managed to restore my stock rom back then.

i have downloaded the first link but it doesnt run on my htc hd2. the other link is an index... what am supposed to search for in that list?
well I've installed the value added installer and it did turn my phone to arabic,
disabling Arabic suuport means you're back to zero. however, you just need to change a few parts and all of the English interface will be back:
enable English with Arabic support from the multilingual support option, you'll find it in Misc in the settings tab, or in system in the winmo settings page (that's whn you click menu>all settings when you're in the settings tab).
now soft reset.
go to the settings tab again and choose locale and text > Regional. Personally I set it to UK because it's quite closer to what I use but if you want more advanced options, go again to winmo settings choose system and then regional, you'll be able ro maually adjust each value, even choose how the date will appear: Arabic, English names in Arabic, or plain English.
soft reset and you're good to go

note that the value added installer will be automatically installed whenever you hard reset, which means you'll have to do these all over again, a better idea is to install some of these backup programs which will restore the mobile to it's state at the time of the backup.

EDIT: Tested, works for a few seconds, then FCes. Would be great if it worked, as I don't think the official Swype supports QVGA. What is LS fix?
Tattoo has a QVGA resolution, I tested it on Wildfire in the official version does not work landscape mode.

If on (tattoo) the official version works in landscape mode please delete the topic.

I'm trying this right now. I also tried the version without LS fix (with PT fix) and that FC as well, so the problem isn't in the LS fix.
EDIT: No luck Would be great if someone got this going...!

I installed swype, then I went to settins> regional settins & text> In text settins check SWYPE box, but when I need the keyboard always is showed the native one.
What is it wrong?

tap and hold on any text field and tap on "input method". Then choose swype.

Thanks. But I have an other problem. I choose Swype, then the Keyboard is diplayed during a second, suddenly some swype help boxes are displayed and at last Android say that the program must be closed.

This one just gives me wrong resolution error, doesn't even start.

Worked _____ on my U8100. Are you sure this isn't w___z? Is this time trialed? It's unbelievable. Landscape works great too.

Hello,
If you are having problems with your Swype where it shows a message every time you change language about database: "There was a problem opening the Swype database. It may be corrupt or in the wrong format".
Don't panic, don't go rushing and reinstaling/flashing firmwares, this has a very simple solution which by the way I couldn't find in the forums so I'm posting it here.
All you have to do is this:
MENU -> Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications
Here you open the context menu and make sure the Filter options is set to show ALL applications.
Search for Swype, select it, and click on the Clear Data button.
That's all, next time you open a input text screen, you might get an error and Swype will Force Close... just open again the input text screen and All languages will be working fine again.
Note: YOU WILL LOOSE ALL YOUR CUSTOM WORDS ADDED TO EVERY SWYPE DICTIONARY (be warned). But at least you'll be able to use Swype again
Hello.
I have installed stock Gingerbread by tytung and didn't like the new keyboard. Desipe many ppl report it's better I find 2.2 stock keyboard more comfortable for me as it has bigger buttons(russian has more letters and they are easier to hit then).
I actually found an .apk but I didn't find the way I can install it. I tried using EasyInstall that is able to install apks from SD card but it didn't worked.

What do u mean with "didn't work". Do u get an error message or just nothing changed with the keyboard?
If just nothing changed do the following:
1.Go to the main android settings and there you should have a menu called "language & input" (just a guess cause I have only a german menu). There you have to select the new keyboard.
2. Then just open the message app and tap AND HOLD in the field where you would write the message. A popup will appear. Click on it and change the input method.
Then you should be ready to go.

I meant it's not installed. I choose it to install but at the end I get "Application wasn't installed". That's it.
Just to clarify I want to change Gingerbread stock keyboard with Froyo stock keyboard as I like its layout.
Putting .apk with Froyo keyboard in /system/app didn't work at all - Android OS simply doesn't recognize it. I guess because of exect the same system name - Android keyboard.
Afte i have update from 4.4.4 to lollipop the menu in messages settings, sms, "input mode"

automatic
was working great....
my phone was rooted with some modifications that cause me some troubles so i deside to reflash Lollipop from the bigging
After that the menu "input mode" from sms settings dissappear and now i cant send messages in Greek language with 160 letters. ..except of that the phone working great
Does anyone know how to fix that?
