5.0.2 killed my smart lock trusted places option - Nexus 10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello to all,
Just upgraded my device using recently released factory image (5.0.2) and now I do not have "trusted places" option available anymore in security -> smart lock (location tracking is on BTW)
I really like if anyone could lead my in the good direction to fix that issue (unless it's a new bug of this version)

Just updated(from 5.0.1) after reading your post. Checked that Trusted places available after update and after stock root. Done no research but are all your "google" apps updated - guessing Google Maps and Google are relevant to the device location (and GPS enabled?)

All applications are up to date, my device is not rooted yet (not sure I'll do it this time) and I've even done a factory reset.

I think this could be your answer. Google play services received a small update after the Android 5 release to add "locations".
Check your "Google play services" https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.gms&hl=en_GB.
The current version is dated yesterday and says:
What's New
6.5
- Maps API Lite mode rendering
- New Location Settings dialogue.......
.......

I think that I already had a up to date version until now since every location based functions were working fine (until I upgrade from 5.0.1 to 5.0.2 yesterday).
And it would have been weird that upgrading Android version leads to a google play service *downgrade*

Oh wait: "trusted places" option is all of a sudden back in my device "smart lock" options (without having changed anything apart from installing very few unrelated apps). That's very strange...

Under advanced security settings there's a trusted agents section and smart lock neededto be checked on from there. Maybe somehow it turned off or on by itself even messing with something.

Since other smart lock options (trusted devices and trusted faces) were still available, smart lock was still functional: only trusted places were missing.

Signs of Youtube Getting Unblocked or Something Else on my S4??

I am in need of some help guys. First of all , Youtube is blocked in my country, Pakistan atm.
Secondly, I havent ever rooted my S4 I9500 ever and have always been on stock since day one. The firmware i am using is XXUBM9 which i flashed a few days ago. Everything went fine but now whenever i connect to my wifi some notification pops up which again tells me to connect to my wifi , which i am already connected to (screenshot 1). And when i click on it, it directs me to a page (screenshot 2) , or i should say an IP (which changes a little bit) or other IP like 173.194.35.99 , which is also blocked on my ISP . The location of that IP leads to Google Inc in USA.
When i kept pressing that Notification, ClickED on APP info, then it shows me that it is generated from ANDROID SYSTEM.[
I have flashed the firmware 3,4 times already which was released for my country PAK few days ago. But nothing is helping. Rest of device works fine. So any help i can get or advice?

i have the same problem on my moto g 2, but i cant do anything and i tried to clear everything earase everything from bootloader and still the message appears! Someone help please!!!
Hope This Is Helpful
I had the same problem on my phone and had found a solution that worked for me.
1st. Simple. After changing rom and/or kernal before turning your phone off disable lock screen.
That worked well for me but i love my lock screen and it kept freezing on me once i added it back on so now we reach a second solution.
2nd. After changing rom and/or kernal before turning your phone off make sure to pick a launcher for home screen and press (ALWAYS).
after having a dedicated home screen launcher the pop up never resurfaced.
If you dont mind not having a lock screen pick the first.
If like me and need a lock screen choose the second.
Good Luck my fellow Android users. :good::good::good:

Yesterday I updated my Note 4 from 4.4.4 to 5.0.1. I did not reset the phone, did not wipe cache in recovery after the update.
Now, on LP, after every reboot I get the pop-up message as shown in the screenshot.
I did'n have this on 4.4.4 and haven't installed new apps.
Does someone have a clue which app is causing this?

can you try this
I think this is related to the RCS service. You can disable it from the settings menu for text messaging -> Open the inbuilt messaging app (the usual place you receive text messages) -> Find the settings menu -> scroll down and disable the RCS Service.

also check out Vodafone Message+ it might be coming from that
Have the same issue here at every reboot @henklbr and I'm thinking it has somehow to do with Vodafone in the Netherlands (we both have the same provider) Btw I did clear my cache before and after installing the update. Oh and I also got 2 german apps showing up which I did not install for sure myself pizza.de and some German Hotel reservation app. Im using standard messaging and I have no hangouts installed

I think Samsung is introducing a service like iMessage. I'm actually excited about it but I don't get the popup. ?
Can you check in Settings, search for "Share with contacts" and see if you have such entry?

Brand new Nokia 6 is "uncertified"/no android pay?

Hi! I'm looking for a little help with my new Nokia 6.
I bought this phone on amazon, and everywhere else I looked said that it worked with Android Pay. (I got the version with amazon ads, because I figured I could always pay $50 to remove them later if I wanted).
So I got it up and running (On AT&T) and downloaded Android Pay and it tells me I can't use it on this phone because "My device is rooted, has an unlocked bootloader, or is running a custom ROM".
I just don't get it. Just to be clear this phone is right out of the box from that amazon link above, I didn't do a thing to it.
I contacted Nokia support (which was painful) and they told me that for some reason the phone isn't updating to the latest security version (It's security version is June 1st 2017). Google Play also says the phone is "uncertified". They have maintained radio silence since then.
I did a factory reset, and that didn't help anything.
Here are some screenshots in case I wasn't clear what I meant:

Hi again
I'll try and keep this post updated in case anyone else runs into this problem. I'm sending the phone off to Nokia repair. I debated just sending it back to Amazon, but I kind of want to ride this out, and I can always return it later if it can't be fixed.
Just factory reset it
And it will be OK.

Then see if OEM unlocking in Developer options is turned on, if it is, try turn it off and have the phone restarted.

Question way to get google pay to work on 1.5.0 EEA BETA?

Sup guys,
as title says, is there any way to get it back to working? Or do i need get back to 1.1.7 EEA? If so, is there any way or guide to do so? didnt got any backup from my prev version, is this even possible? or do i have to wait not?
greets.
Issue originates as CTS fails as it's a beta build.
I'm having exactly the same issue.
A work a round would be to root the phone and run a magisk module to spoof CTS passing, however if you don't want to do that (like me), just either revert to 1.1.7 or wait for 1.5 to be officially released.
Unsure whether it wil show up under OTA updates so just keep an eye on the forums for the update to drop.
Google Pay works here with 1.5 EEA beta like a charm.
Please use a moded universal safetynet module as described here:
MarcoReckless said:
I tried the default Universal SafetyNet Fix and it didn't work, I also tried using a custom fingerprint but it would break my fingerprint scanner, I ended up using a modded version of the fix it CTS is passing for me.

In magisk you should use zygisk with activate the necessary google apps like play store and so on in the denial list.
Please donĀ“t forget to clear the cache of the necessary apps like Play Store, wallet, and so on after the procedure and reboot. then you can activate your wallet and configure your credit cards and everything works.
It doesn't bother me yet that Google PAY-Wallet doesn't work.
I don't want and won't root to make it work for me.
The official registration form has been notified!
I still have a Watch with the Google PAY payment option.
I was also looking for this post. Anyone knows if this will work with 1.5 global beta?
With the next update to Android beta13, Google PAY-Wallet should work

Any beta release by default from any android is not expected to work Google Pay/Wallet , that;s the way Google decided
Just to update for people watching.
New 1.5 beta is out and can be found in another XDA thread.
Google Wallet is now working on the latest update.
