i hav installed s4 rom. i dono how but softkey of phone starts to work on touch screen.
i mean the all three soft buttons a working but in wrong ways. when i click home button it response on the screen clicks the button just above it.
all three buttons are not doing its own function and responding on the screen at the button just above of it.
i have changed my rom. i have tried multiple rom but the problem is as it is... i dono what to do.
plz help me to fix the problem....

hello everyone, i have the cingular 8525 and i noticed that when i press the green button with the phone logo to open the "phone" application (or to makes calls), it does not work...i dont think its the button itself but an issue with the software. i figured this out because I went to settings and and tried the "buttons" application to try to remap the button to the "phone" application however, i can only (re)configure button 1 (which is messaging) button 2 (which is internet explorer) button 3 (which is comm manager) and button 4 (which is the camera).....and there are no more buttons to reconfigure after that....i know i am suppose to have button 5 and 6 but they dont show anymore... any help would be deeply appreciated...thank you
I have the same prob, but my keyboard have a Italian setting. I think that this prob it's very annoying! Anyone could help us?

Ive had the same problem, and my front buttons doesnt work, and it was hardware problem, send it to warranty.

I have HTC TyTN and the same problem with call(green Button) it doesnt work at all.
When I want to enter the phone I press video call button , but could not make cals with green talk button , I should use talk button on screen.
Is there any help with this prob ?
Just fixed that problem.
The button didnt respond to normal presure , pushed it hard and it worked.
Pushed it hard 50 times or more and now it is working.
Probably the button needed some action to start working.
So what happened to "i know i am suppose to have button 5 and 6 but they dont show anymore" ? Oh, you just realized there was NEVER an option to change those buttons ? Ah, okay.

please could someone help me out here. all my buttons do not seem to work when the phone is on, the only button that works is the camera one. but wen phone turned of i can still load up boot screen (using volume button) but volume button doesnt work when phone is on. also the keyboard doesnt work, can only type d and o.
so please could someone help me out as i dont want to send it off to be fixed.

Have you tried hard resetting or reflashing your ROM?
Hard reset will delete all your data and installed programs (except anything on your memory card). Press the two silver buttons + the stylus reset button under battery cover simultaneously to do it.
this is like the horror senario of our keyboard problems

thank you for your suggeestions, i did a hard reset and ROMed it bck to warrenty rom but this still didnt fink it. i was planning on takin the phone in 2day but mysteriously this mornin when woke up the keyboard and phone was working, its a mystery but im so glad its working.

some of the hardware keys stopped working on my htc diamond...the only keys that work are. the power button, voluime buttons, up pad down pad and the center/ok button....everything else does not work, even the touch pad doesnt work...can any one please help me, OH and the buttons somtimes work for example when i somtimes press any button on the left side it will go to the home screen, for example when i press call button it will go to the home screen, same with the right side if i press the back button it will press the call end buton wierd eh? So basicly the buttons do respon (the litghts turn on when i press any hard ware button but they do not do anythin 99% of the time and if they do it is the wron function HELP GUYS!
Have you tried restarting the phone? Press and hold the powerbutten (if it works), and answer Yes to the question about shutting down. Take out your battery for 10 seconds, put it back in and fire up your phone... It might help

I have the same problem but it is only the home and answer buttons that stop working. If i do the restart it wirks but why should i keep having to do this

Hehe, can't answer that. I've had the problem only like twice in three months, so for me it's not a problem... I guess it's a software problem. Remember, it's not a Nokia The inside so much more complicated, so I guess we just have to live with some bugs...
Are you guys sure that this is a hardware related problem? I have the same prob and i was quite sure that i f**ked up the capacitative panel by playing kevtris manickly for quite a long time.
The capacitative screen is comprised by two parts folded.
I have opened the diamond and i found out that there is a lietle piece of metal that binds them together. This was bent(from kevtris probably) so istraightened it out with my bear hands. But it did not fix the problem. Do not try it anyway. Too messy if you have two left hands like me.
Have you ever seen a calibrator for the capacitative screen?
had the same problem only the power button would work , hard reset fixed it.
Have u installed S2U2..try uninstalling it...or install latest version 1.68 of S2U2
hi everyone:
i have a strange issue with my atrix, idk wich option i move in cmw recovery but now the buttons are part of the screen, if i open the gallery i can slide it with the buttons as if they are part of the screen, the problem is that i cant return to home screen or do something else cause the buttons are working, any ideas how i can fix this??
Also before when i was in recovery it let me use te button back to retur to other menus, after that they didnt work in the rest of the rom

since yesterday, i have this nasty problem with my touchscreen. when i press the power button to wake the phone, or to get into the power-menu, the touchscreen stops working. this does no happen if i press any other button.
sometimes, i can use the phone again if i wait until the screen turns off and then wake it up by pressing any other button, but most of the time i need to pull out the battery and restart the phone. even when i pull out the battery, the screen won't work sometimes, and i have to restart the phone again.
when i first experienced this problem, i was using the nexushd2 v2.0 rom, i then updated to the v2.1, which didn't help. i tried reinstalling the rom, wiping the /data/ , the cache and the dalvik cache (multiple times) and eventually changed to the typhoon cm7 rom (with repartitioning and reinstalling the magldr), the problem is still there.
the phone did never get wet, fall down, or anything the like. pulling out the sd card makes no difference.
i hope someone can help me there
May be it´s a hardware problem, some HD2 have it.
You can test it, if you go back to windows.
its the good old digitizer its right under the power button press the end button hard and it should work again but if you press it again it will corrupt use softkey or remap your hardware buttons

@OP, in future please use the search button before posting. There are far too many threads in this forum with exactly the same issue as Kamerius has just proved, so why couldn't you save both us and yourself some time and search first? Anyway, what you have is a digitizer issue, but a quick temporary solution is to simply press as hard as you physically can on the end call/power button. The screen should work after that. Use a button remapper or some sort of widget to enable you to use the phone without ever touching the end call button, and make sure to use other buttons to wake the screen.

i have the same problem with the endkey but with the rom in my sig
it actually has a softkey button that can be setup with a power softkey ..longpress on the softkey and it pulls up the power menu
just like it would do if you used the hardware power button
Yeah I thought there were softkey power buttons but I wasn't sure and I'm on my phone so couldn't be arsed to search

well, sorry dunno why i didn't search the forum before
pressing the power button hard worked , but i think i'll keep using soft buttons and wake the device pressing any other button (i don't think the brute force method is a good idea as i want to keep my phone some time longer )

Well i had HTC HD2 and i had install Android 4.0.3 and it was working fine from last 1 month but today suddenly it stop working touch screen and after 1 hour it started again but i wont able to touch every where it randomly working
So after then i read you reply and i try it i had press Hard Power button and then its started working fine and its work for 1 hour and then again stop so i again press hard power button and its started and also iam not using power button for any use
so you can let me know what is the permanent solution for this do i need to change touch screen completely it is damaged
pls let me know i will very thank full to you because 8 month back i already replace touch screen once and today again same problem

I am facing the same issue except no matter how hard I press the red button....LCD doesn't works. I have even replaced the thin metal strip which rests under hardware buttons.
Anyone?

I tried changing the metal strip too. But it still the same. Doesn't work.
