So, what should we (those who have not received 4.4.3 )expect ,a direct 4.4.4 update or 4.4.3 first ?

hope direct 4.4.4 update...but not sure
These are just some bug fixes, I don't see why so much fuss about 4.4.3 and 4.4.4
There are not much significant changes, specially in 4.4.4

Security issue is not important to you ?
I think we will get 4.4.3 update and then 4.4.4 cz Motorola is working on 4.4.3 for moto devices...
and then they will work on 4.4.4...
or if we directly get 4.4.4, 4.4.3 features will also b ter in that, that's obvious!

Thats the only site that said moto x,g,e will get 4.4.4. Its not true. Yes they will or might get. But nothing has been announced yet. Besides its just security fix. about your question doesn't it concern you?
No. because the security hole is not applicable for most users who dont use that feature. The 4.4.4 security fix is for 4.4.3. we havent got 4.4.3 itself so nothing of that matters really. we will get 4.4.3 or maybe a direct update. But i dont think it matters either way. If new version does appear on I/O, that will be what that matters as it'll have some major change.
Only one major update and a few minor updates
Motorola promised only one more major update for Moto E. And I suppose, that one update will be for Android 5.0.
Android 4.4.3 has some bugs with openssl modules. Hence, Google made an unexpected update of Android 4.4.4 to fix that security issue.
So probably, we can get directly Android 4.4.4 update and then Android 5.0 update.
And future updates for better Android versions will be provided by developers.
moto e
Good 4.4.4 update in moto e
Extstcard now can read and write with 3rd party apps
This was the thing I was waiting for
For my Moto G got update of 4.4.4 update yesterday
is this anything we should care about? don't think so.
stop bombing the forum with another 4.4.4 threads!!

Hey all,
I recently bought a moto g (2014) and when I went to update the software from 4.4.4 to 5.0, it says there are no update. The version I'am running right now is 21.11.17 titan_retuaws. When can I expect the update for this device? Almost all the other moto g second gens have been updated. Also for my last phone, I was able to flash directly from Google's stock rom website. Does Google or Motorola do the same for this phone?
Same thing here:
- new phone
system: 21.11.23.titan_re.....
Android: 4.4.4
whats goin on?
Same where. Indian users are lucky ...

The soak test for 5.1 has started.
Update 07/July/2015
ATT are sending survey invites for Motorola Feedback Network users of Moto X 1st Gen. They will later select some users for Moto X 5.1 soak test.
Update
A xda forum Lieutenant_Dan quoted motorola's D. Schusters google plus update on att moto x 1st gen
From schusters's google plus
Here is an update on the Android 5.1 Lollipop upgrades for Moto X (1st Gen)
- We are ready to enter Verizon labs next week to start their approval process
- We entered AT&T labs last week, waiting for their approval
- We are still in soak testing in India, we are investigating a potential issue and want to make sure we understand it fully before moving forward. Should have more details in a couple days.

I m also one of those . will keep checking 3-4 times a day for the update .
I don't want to be a pessimist, but I think we are at least a week or two away from carrier branded update, although I hope I'm wrong.
You aren't wrong... I wish u are, especially this year, att is very slow in upgrading their devices.
Let's keep our fingers crossed.
i check my phone for update 5 times a day. i am very optimistic about ATT bringing the update. went back to stock 4.4.4 since 3 days and after using its not that bad than cm12.1

we'll probably see at least a soak (hopefully an open pull one) this week.
found this http://www.att.com/esupport/article.jsp?sid=KB422438&cv=820&_requestid=1207586
but it refrences the 1st gen along with the 2nd gen, as if someone copied it and then forgot a few bits here and there (build numbers refrencing the victara (2nd gen)

I also found this http://www.att.com/esupport/article.jsp?sid=KB422438
the links point to moto x 2014 it seems that they've copied the content there and forgot to change the links. in content they've shown that after installation of update it shows victara instead of ghost thats weird.
i got moto boot services updat from the store

The best thing you can do is backup all your things and manually flash the latest stock rom https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/how-to/stock-rom-npjs25-93-14-4-march-1-t3608138
