A post to say goodbye... - Galaxy S III General

So, my fellow galaxy users, i am officially leaving the S3 threads after i bought myself an xperia z2...
I do feel like i have to say thanks to everyone who helped me in any way, be it via answering my questions, or by making roms...
I have to specifically thank @Lord Boeffla for his kernels... I must admit that his kernels were the only ones i used while i was using my S3, both at android jelly bean and at Kitkat... And to be honest, i havent seen such a detailed work even at the xperia z2 threads so far...
So, farewell my dear friends, i do hope that i will meet you some day again in the future

FAQ

Dear fellow Galaxy S Users,
For almost a year now it has been my honor and my pleasure to maintain the FAQ and Guides for our beloved GT-I9000.
I would like to thank all those who helped make the FAQ what it is today and all the developers who helped make this phone such a massive success in the modding aftermarket.
As of today I am the proud owner of a brand new Galaxy S II GT-I9100.
As such I am looking for someone to take over maintenance of the FAQ so that it can continue to benefit the SGS community. (I cannot afford to own two high-end devices at the same time so my old I9000 will have to go during one of the next days)
If you are interested and feel you are qualified, please contact me via PM or leave a reply in this post.
Cheers,
Darkstriker
Thanks for creating and maintaining these great FAQs. For many of us they were the starting points in modifying our SGS phones without bricking

enjoy your new phone

From the Moderator... Going Forward....

To all in this Forum...... The Forum has been Running Smooth and the Members in this forum have been extremely civil and helpful to each other......
WE Moderators really do notice and thank you all for being such a great group.
Going forward........ FYI The Vibrant is one of the few older devices that gets to sport ICS on it... it still is a great device.
Jelly Bean is just popping out now and I have talked with some of the devs, and they think it can and will make it to the Vibrant.... Soooo . . . that Original Galaxy Phone is still got some GET-UP still in it......
But, , , Do not expect for at least a month ... and to that please do not post a bunch of ETA threads as I will have to delete them a spam... Just be patient and realize how many other phones who do not have ICS yet......
Thanks All, ~~ oka1
Do you know when JB is coming out?
Just kidding, understood.

To answer that question, The framework is very different and alot of things have changed. 1st they have to figure how to make the new framework fit older platform, then figure if memory size might be an issue.... and so on and so on...... Then when they got it right, then I would guess the Vibrant will be way down the priority list. That's the answer as good as it gets. :cyclops::cyclops:
I am out of thanks for the day on my tablet (I'll have to hop on my phone/tapatalk and hit you up) but thank you very much for posting this.
We are all excited for JB but I have to agree with Oka1, there are still very few devices running ICS let alone ports of Jelly Bean. In the RC forums, there are so many users who are still on Gingerbread and a few who are on Froyo with no hope at all from their hardware, manufactures or dev teams.
The Vibe is almost 2 years old and still blows the doors off many other devices. It is so easy to use, the bootloaders are unlocked and it has External_SD and removable battery (#noGNex or HTC ONE X/S) . It is because of these but also many other reasons that we are able to get working Gingerbread, ICS and now Jelly Bean ROMs for a device that was officially abandoned at Eclair and only got Froyo through a grassroots Twitter campaign.
Viva la Vibrant!!!
I wouldn't worry too much about JellyBean, since Cyanogen and AOKP supports the Vibrant.

The more expensive the devices, the more elitist the fanboys become. So maybe here, but less at SIII and Nexus section.
THANKS:victory:

The Arc/S Community

Its been fun on Arc/S Community on XDA
Cheers to all Arc/S users. The Sexiest Device we ever had. Sleek Design, Handy and Handful device for a Mid Range its pretty Cool.
Upon using the Phone for few months I am still love this other mid range phone out there.
Checking every 5 hrs on XDA and spending many time reading the Arc/s thread. I did developed a ROM though I discontinued it coz of some Annoying dev's out there who don't want any competition about the roms. I mean the site was intended for us to Share and Experiment with our handset. The only thing worked out is my Swap Thread and I really have good time with it and a company notice me then proposed to Buy my developing Swapler app and I give thanks all to XDA forum. I truly appreciate the Motive of setting this forum up and the Moderators on Arc/S are very nice to the users.
Before I leave the Arc/S community I will just make Roms for my Fellow Filipino mates with Chaos. I was still wanting to develop good roms here. I was planing to Tandem with Chaos to make such good roms for Arc/s. But I guess some troll will be Intimidating our Release and again Fire will spark over and over again so I got sick of these (Kid/Infant Attitude) as I guess Iridaki will Agree with me.
I will post my Creations on Android Section from this point. I will make with add Swapler and realease for free but its still on Approval.
Its been fun. I hope moderators will automatically delete Irrelevant topic of Troll here. Hammer theme with Chuck Norris :victory:
Its just when Free sharing become business donation to others.
Ciao Arc/s

Even though I don't know much about your work or your support for the Arc / Arc S, it's sad to see guys leaving thanks to a bunch of morons that's envy on other guys quality work. Yes, your SWAP application is joy and quality (at the same time) that has saved me a lot of times when struggling to make ICS worth my time, and to avoid making this too fanboyish - I wish u all luck with whatever you now are going to do!
Thanks for your support, Patambiz! And a lot of greetings (hopefully) from the Arc community.

[ROM] the best JB 4.1.2 ROM for the SGS3 GT-I9300 in my opinion

Hi all
I am new here, and yes I am not a developer, as well as, I am so happy that I have been moved to SGS3 after using iPhone. Android world is amazing. The reason I am posting such thread, its because I want to share my little experience with ROMs for the SGS3.
I used to use the Cyanogenmod 10 the nightlies, with some issues and bugs are there, and I was looking for such ROM which can handle the Daily use without any problem, finally I found this one Resurrection Remix JB v3.1.2, which is the best in my opinion for those who are using the CM10 nightlies until they CM team come out with the stable mode.
it is in this thread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1815285
I used it, it is stable, battery friendly and smooth, no issues at all.
I am just sharing my experiences, because I was mistaken when I was thinking about CM10 is the best yet, but when I try the RR I found out, the truth.
I would like to thank the management of the forum, and the members as well, and I am so sorry if there is any typos mistakes or such things, because my native language is the Arabic.
I am from Dubai, and I am so happy to be a member here.
regards
Nasser
Still, the words "best" and "rom" shouldn't be used in the same sentence. "best rom" threads aren't allowed whether you're asking for the specifically or you're stating which the best rom is. It's all a matter of one's own preferences.
Not one of these threads again.

Welcome to xda.
First of all, congratulations on your phone choice. It was certainly a change for the better. :good:
Now, on the topic of ROM preference, please visit this thread and read about "Best ROM" is considered around here.

Hope you enjoy Android as much as we all here do. I picked S3 over iPhone 5 and do not regret my decision one bit.
So sorry guys, I wanted to help others. Thats why I used these words.
Again and again, Thank you very much.
appreciate all the replies.

Nasser

[CENTRALIZATION]Post your Contribution :)

Hi guy,
Again me with new idea of thread,
i invite all Master of DEVs, Themers and other great people who have been contribute to give us the best of our ."PRECIOUS" to post here .
i hope you could understand that i want 1 post by "contributor" , or owner (everybody not 'contributor' yet can post sure !)
We are not here to have exchange about anything, just we let each contributor to make its post like he want or need.
Yes, posters have to waste a little time, not sure they want repeat again what they have mentioned in their own thread, but maybe some of them need/want to be find easily by this way here, in GENERAL and they can post summary here too.
i you will ask me my contrubution ?
Imagine that in XDA S2 Forum, when you ear about @Troubadour666 , you can be sure people are refering about dualboot roms with @dorimanx kernel.
that's my contribution, make experience dualboot easily for everyone on S2.
i think i can let this thread alive one month to see evolution and then i will decide to close it or not. maybe moderator will decide it before .
i will touch this post later.
thanks.
My contribution to xda(interms of ROM/themes/tool/icon pack was started after inspiring from great devs of Neat ROM family.
And I have worked more with s2 i9100 .

Guides and passing what i have learned in building mods are the most important thing to me. I just enjoy seeing that spark of interest in members when they stop asking for mods and choose they want to build themselves. Thats the best and after some time they have there own threads teaching more members. Makes me proud
Sent from my GT-I9500
i dont need to brag about my contribution , already 3 phones sections knows me (lg p500 , s2 and g2) plus few other iphone designed threads
let's just say that my contribution meant sharing my mods , themes and roms with the dear xda users
Well I'm not a dev but I leaned so much from xda and the people over here. Got so many good friends too. Just want to contribute more but my personal life is so buay in these days. ?

Very good! I've benefited from many of your threads and posts and I'm grateful for your contributions.
EDIT : Many thanks to @Troubadour666 and the others here.
I actually thought I was posting to another thread and only realised it went here after I submitted it. Apologies for trespassing in this esteemed company from a (as yet) non-contributor.
