Permit to Carry Concealed... - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Yeah, I THOUGHT that'd get your attention.
This is probably one of the stupidest questions you'll see, but here goes..
How do you CARRY the Note4? I have NEVER carried my phone in a pants pocket EXCEPT I have slid it into a cargo pocket when wearing cargo shorts in the summer time. I wear a lot of shirts without pockets or, since it's winter, I might be wearing a sweater... no pockets. Do holsters work for this? Never used a holster either. ..
hmmmm...
my wife tosses her S5 into her purse. I don't have a purse.
So where do you carry YOURS?

hi ,
i carry mine in a "moon bag "( @ fanny pack @ waist wallet @ belly bag @ bum bag ...etc )
if i go somewhere and i have either, my Gear watch
connected or Plantronic bluetooth headset connected ( i have an third party app " eCID" on phone ,
that is set to read full sms 's or announce caller id via the bluetooth headset etc ) ,
The reason ,is that i don't have to pull phone from bag,
everytime i get a call or sms ... .works for me!!
good luck

Front trouser pocket. Without a case it's small enough. With a case... forget it lol.

Front pocket, with Otterbox Commuter case. No problem. I sometime use a Targus 10 inch tablet bag to carry my GN4 and a bunch of peripherals/accessories.
Sent from my Galaxy Note 4

So far.... my jackets and coats all have some sort of breast pocket so carrying it around when we're going to the store or whatever is fine. I still have a problem when I GET somewhere like a relative's house for a party. If I don't have a shirt pocket I'm kinda carrying the darn thing around with me. I *might* make something like a "medicine bag" to carry it in. A nice, lined, leather pouch with a flap cover and something to secure the flap against inadvertently dumping the contents (like... in case you like to fly upside down or something...). Even just a couple small dots of velcro would work.

Still waiting for my Note4 to arrive, but it's about the same size as my Note3. I wear a lot of cargo pants, so there's no problem there, however on those occasions where I need to dress more formally I'll put it in my front pocket or the inner pocket of a suit jacket. Girls have it easier on this one, purses hold a lot, but I'm not yet ready to give in and start carrying one, I'll leave that to my wife.
My old boss carried his Note2 (same size) on a belt holster, I would consider doing that when I'm in uniform (people expect stuff hanging off your belt then), but the uniform has cargo pockets so I don't need to. Without the uniform people don't expect cell phones on belts any more.

How do you carry your wizard around?

let's admit it: it's not very comfortable in the pocket. i was wondering how are you carring it? in the pocket? with a clip-on case attached to your belt (pls share which case)? in your briefcase?
i'm still looking for the most comfortable way...
I can not carry it any place but in the trouser pocket. I have broken many belt cases or holsters.
Gramicci, a company that makes clothing for rock climbing made a pair of trousers with a pocket sewn on the right thigh for carrying GPS or cell phone and it fits the Wizard nicely. I do not know if they still make these trousers but they are my favorite....
I'm just using the clip-on case that came with my T-Mobile (US) MDA. Its plain, but does the job.
Eventually, I play to get a better case, debating between a good metal case like
http://www.thepocketsolution.com/Me...gory_Code=mda_iv_accessories&Product_Count=10
or
http://www.thepocketsolution.com/Me...gory_Code=mda_iv_accessories&Product_Count=12
The latter is most likely what I'll get, as it looks like its fast to pull out, and provides adequate production, but I like the durability of the metal case.
I switch back and forth between the default Cingular 8125 belt-clip case and a PDair Aluminum case. When I use the aluminum, I carry it in my pocket. It's quite a brick with the case.
The PDair case can be seen at
http://www.pdair.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=10100000_900000_200&products_id=2377
Honestly, both cases have their virtues. The aluminum case undeniably provides better protection. However, it also severely degrades signal quality. In order to have a conversation, I have to actually remove the the phone from the aluminum case or else the call quality is abysmal. The aluminum case also ruins the EDGE/GPRS connection. All of that said, sometimes I prefer the aluminum when I want to be sure that the phone is safe.
The belt-clip case keeps the wizard out of my pocket, but keeps me more protective of the phone while it's on my belt.
I use the case that came with my 8125. It works great, I have not had any problems with it.
Just in the pocket of my trousers. I'm not fat, so it's fit just right.
Should not be a millimiter thicker, then I got a problem.
Only problem is to get it, sometimes it's not so easy and sometimes I hit the Red (end call) button when I reach for it
Fits in my pants pocket just fine, even with the BIG extended battery. I just make sure the display is in (against my leg) which is a good idea anyway.
I also carry it in my pocket. It's not as big as I thought it would be. It's certainly bigger than a regular phone, but for a PDA phone it's not too bad. I also always make sure the screen is facing my leg, just in case something hits my leg, at least it hits the back and not the screen.
I carry it in the front left pocket of whatever pants I happen to be wearing (be it jeans at home, or khakis/dress pants at work), usually in its PDAir aluminum case. I have the same signal quality issue as everybody else, but as I barely ever talk on the phone I can keep it in the case all day long.
The only issue I have is when I'm wearing dress pants, as they're of thinner and tighter material. I've been carrying the phone w/out a case as of late (I have a screen protector on it and the housing is already beat up, so I'm not too worried), but I just ordered a leather belt clip on eBay today for when I'm at work. I'm not too worried about looking like an idiot, as pretty much anyone working here (I work for IBM) has their cell on a belt clip.
I bought this case on Ebay to use with my Cingular 8125.
http://cgi.ebay.com/Custom-Fit-Delu...5QQihZ013QQcategoryZ15036QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
When I'm at work, I use the beltclip and wear it on my belt. Other places, I throw it in my purse -- with the case MINUS the belt clip. Since I have individual ringtones assigned to certain contacts, I don't need to flip it open to see who's calling. I can just hit the answer button and start talking.
i want a case that provide full protection not just the screen and not the buttons as well i prefer it to allow the keyboard access while in case
the krussels are almost up to the job but havent yet found the perfect case as i did for my 6620
In my front pocket - but this caused a broken screen.
Yup, watch out all you pants pocket carriers. Not exactly sure how it happened. It was only in there for a few mintues (pants pocket in my jeans) and when I pulled it out it was shattered.
A bit of a pain to get it fixed too, these are the options I've come up with:
$169 USD - http://www.pocketpctechs.com/main~u...pairs-Full+Service+Repairs~item~IMT-LCD03.htm
Over $300 USD - http://www.apexlaptops.co.uk/
Luckily I bought it on good old VISA so will be calling in the 90 day buyer protection feature. You gotta love how our society protects us from our own stupidity.
Cheers.
Looks like I'll stay with the trouser pocket for awhile. They should design clothing with a pocket for these things, they ain't going away....
And thanks for the tip on the Aluminum cases. I'm not pleased with the signal strength on my 8125 as is so the AL case won't help.
And hello to all, I'm totally new to these devices but I like my 8125 so far.
Trouser pocket usually when I'm wearing shorts (bigger pockets, not in the aluminum case). When I'm wearing jeans, it's almost always in its aluminum case hanging from my pocket if I'm not wearing a belt, belt if I am wearing a belt. Sitting at my desk at work, it's usually out of the aluminum case unless I'm wandering over to the other building. Then it winds up in either my back pocket, or the aluminum case. And no, I don't forget that it's there when it is in my back pocket.
After my first 8125 went overboard, I ditched the stock case that came with it and purchased a Sedio holster. This thing is indestructable. I caught my 8125 on the boat's lifeline the other day and I damn near went overboard.....
In a zipped front pocket of my bag (over the shoulder rucksack-y thing)
Not enough space in the pockets of women's jeans!
I use a small (ripstop nylon) digital camera belt case from Tamrac that I got from Circuit City. The case that comes with it is okay for dress, but I don't like the way it leaves the corners of the devise exposed.
I bought the case from Krusell. Everything matches great, I can use all Buttons, there's a little pocket for another MiniSD-Card and the clip-system allows more ways to fix it somewhere. Usually I wear it on my belt.
But it matches only with the standard back (not with extended battery).
I am currently using the magnetic clasped case that came with the device and that has seen me to Japan and then to Scotland, so it seems to work. It has spent most of its time in my trouser pocket and occasionaly in my bag. The only problem is that it's not particulalry easy to use it from inside the case - it takes time to get it out. Also, I didnt use the belt clasp on the side of the case which generally makes the whole thing too bulky. If that was not on there it might be a worthwhile case.
I have also carried it around for short periods with no case on it (which makes it easy to get out, use and then put away), but I was worried of breaking the screen (which has a screen protector to stop me from worrying about getting it scratched).
I did order an aluminium case which was meant to arrive before my trip to Japan, but it didn't. Should finally get to pick it up in August and I am hoping it will be sufficiently small (ie, with no "useless" clasp on the back) for me to use it instead of this leather thing.
Am also planning on getting my old phone unlocked so I can use it as a temporary phone when I need to go somewhere where there is a greater risk of me damaging the phone or greater need for it to be smaller (like black tie events).
I didn't use to use anything. Just carried it in my pocket but after going from a Razr to the Vario, it was strange having something so comparatively bulky.
Since my screen broke and I had to pay to have it fixed, I've been using the magnetic case with belt clip the phone came with. A shirt of t-shirt generally falls loosely over it so it doesn't stand out much.
Would only beinterested in a different case if it were thinner than the standard case.

Titan Holster/Carry Case Needed...Device slips off mine

Titan Holster/Carry Case...
OK...I have lost my VZW HTC-6800 for the last time. I have just a basic PDA holder I got from the Verizon store. You put the PDA in the pouch and it has magnet lid the covers & close it. It is a belt clip style and the PDA sit long ways, horizontal not up/down vertical. The issue is that the clip which goes over the belt just slips right off at times. It is not a swivel clip nor does it have a hook on the end of the clip to keep it from slipping off the belt.
Mine keeps riding off my belt when I sit down and rub again something like a seat, etc. I need a good holster for our HTC's. I do not want a swivel clip and I do like a case that cover the device to protect it keeping it in the horizontal position on the belt and has a catch on the clip where it does not clip off the belt..
Any recommendation?????????
Is this the blue and black leather one? I've had no problems with mine. Actually, it's a bit of a pain in the butt to get the thing off my belt at the end of the day...
Verizon does have a few more that I looked at that I believe would accomodate your wishes. Go back to the VZW store, and actually take them out of the packaging, put your xv6800 in them etc and try them out before you leave the store.
Also, don't forget, this is not a phone specific thing, so you could go to a Sprint store, etc to look for their accessories for their PPC6800 phones...
I have used one of these since I got mine. It even has a place for an SD card adapter and I slip a Sandisk Micromate USB adater in the other slot.
It has a wrist lanyard that I run my belt through.
I ride a motorcycle most days so I needed something secure. It has been on my belt for thousands of miles, with no problems.
It is a little bulky, but not bad.

I understand you dont like the swivel, But you might take alook at this case.
The swivel is locked in one place unless you really want to move it, I think it is great, IMHO

Who carries their uni in their pocket?

Just curious.
Do you carry your uni in your pocket where ever you go?
Ive had my uni for almost a year and I carry mine in my side pocket everywhere I go. Its creating a very big bulge. Especially when i wear my tight jeans. (Which can be very embarrassing sometimes)
I carry it all the time on my pocket since 2005
If jeans is too thight I take it on my hand (Not very confortable...)
I always have it in my side pocket ...
I carry my Universal in my back pocket of my jeans.
My job allows me to use jeans on a daily basis and I just put the Universal (which is in the shipped leather sleeve) in my left back pocket.
The size is big enough to remind me I do have the Universal there, so I don't sit with it fitted in the pocket, while being small enough to allow handling it, as it doesn't get like stuck in t he pocket.
I have other, smaller, devices and the problem is that sometimes I almost forgot that the phone is in the pocket and I was about to sit on them...
I do own a Athena now and sadly it is a little to big to fit the pocket. I had thought otherwise before getting it.
And yes, to balance it out, the right back pocket of my jeans carry my wallet.
Cheers,
vma
I'm always with the uni and the wallet on the hand. The uni goes protected in the original leather casing
I use Gomadic's carrying case. Slightly oversized - to allow larger batteries I guess.
T-Mobile belt pouch. VERY BULKY! But oh well.

Does your LEO fit in your pocket..???

Well I know this question is really dumb but just wanted to know how you all fellow HD2 owners carry your phone..???
Well the I LOVE my LEO but it doesn't fit in my pocket as it is HUGE, so I always have to keep it in my college bag..!!!
How do you carry your HD2..???
I keep mine in jeans at all times - front right pocket without the problem. I'm 6.3 and about 210-220lbs - driving, moving, running - no difference for me between my old nokia e71 and new HD2... I also keep it in pocket at work when I wear dress pants - even weight is not that bad! - LOVE THE PHONE!!!
Ocassional reset? Who does not reset these days lol
Stop wearing those skinny jeans, LOL
It fits in my pocket, but I much prefer to carry it without the gel case that came with the phone, as it makes it bulkier and a bit um... sticky. I usually wear carpenter jeans, with a phone pocket on the right leg. Without the case, it just fits in that phone pocket! FWIW
Fits in my slim jeans around college no problem, regular waist.
Fits fine in my jeans..actually feels lighter and better in my pocket than any phone ive ever owned including iphone and the motorola droid.
It fits everything I wear.... seeings how big men's pockets are in America. I can fit my entire TI 84 I use for school in most of my pockets lol.
If you're a girl, well that's another story...
I carry mine about in a shopping trolley.
Fits better than my N95 ever did.................
Never had any problem carrying my HD2 around. Slips into my jeans pocket easily.
For ladies? 9/10 of them carry their phones in their handbags. Size doesn't matter I guess..
fine in all my pockets!
I keep mine in my crotch
But seriously, fits fine in my jeans pocket with a PDair case!
pocket
Front right pants pocket, with Imagnum case, no problem.
It fits in my pants pocket and shirt pocket..Just be careful leaning over
Luckly, had the reflexes of a cat and caught it as it decided to take
a dive...but, thanks for insurance..didn't need it that time but,,...
fits fine in my 31" waist 506's either pocket -with silicon case or plastic car holder mount.
It's so thin it's fine. It's a bit of a bulge, but it means people stare more at my phone rather than my errr....sock draw.....
As for resets - my netgear router has a firmware feature where it resets at 3am every night. My nokia E65 would automatically crash and soft reset itself every 72hours or sooner.
At least my HD2 does not soft-reset until I tell it to!!!!
Easily, my Archos 5 Android is bigger and has ample room as well. Its so slim. Its the fatties that are difficult to pocket! Like the Tytn 2!
I have to wear skinny/slim jeans to work and HD2 has always fitted into my pocket, albeit a tight fit sometimes.
My HD2 fits in my pocket very easily.
32" waist shorts, never had an issue fitting any of my phones in my pockets.
Is that a HD2 in your pocket or
My wife asked me "Is that a HD2 in your pocket or are you happy to see me?"
I am trying to figure out what she meant?
On an avg everyone keeps their HD2 in pocket with any casing I presume..!!!

I'm torn...how to carry my N7?

I picked up a pretty nice case for my N7. Black, leather, lots of folding options but it makes it feel like I'm carrying a binder. I have a binder and a man purse and I hate to carry them both.
I do wear baggy jeans, so it fits perfect in my back pocket. The problem is that I have to take it out to sit down and I'm scared I'll forget and crush it with my butt.
The only options I can think of are to start wearing cargo pants every day, keep the thing in my man purse and carry said man purse or just not carry it.
I carry a gun most days, so belt clips and the like are not options.
I carry mine like a book.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
This isn't an iPhone, you can carry it however you like
I also just carry it around like a book but maybe you could use a small backpack or something?
As long as you carry a gun, you could carry the Nexus 7 in an Easter basket if you wanted.
I just put mine in a slim sleeve and carry it like a book. Had to make sure it was a slim sleeve, because the first one I had kinda looked like a ladies handbag.
Use a sleeve and carry it around like a big wallet if that's your thing. But yeah, be careful picking out some sleeves, they will look like clutch bags.

Easter basket is an option I did not think of....
I'll check out the sleeves. Come November I'm trading my phone for a tablet, so I need to get used to carrying it every day
Target sells mini travel bags in the 20 to 35 dollar range. I have a $24 swiss airplane bag that works great for tablets under 8 inches.

I carry mine in the blurex slim case, the one that doesn't cover the screen up... and then I put it in this mofi android sleeve. It's nice and padded.

Hahaha! Classic
I carry mine in a side compartment in a briefcase and sometimes 'Murse'.
Shopping for a rugged case when one is available.
Otherwise, I carry mine like my old Daytimer.
I carry it in either my back pocket, side pocket of backpack, or cargo pocket of my shorts. I wouldn't be afraid of cracking it unless you're planning on falling on your @$$ a lot.

I been struggling with trying to find the right case until you said this... I'm so getting an Easter basket now! Yep, I was class clown. But this idea is so halarious I can't pass up the oppurtunity!
cargo pants/shorts
I use a case for the Kindle Fire:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005DOL0R0/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00
It fits the N7 perfectly, has adequate padding and has a small band on the outside that you slip your fingers through that helps you hand hold the case without strain.
Very happy with this case....
A backpack is not really my style... easter basket is for sure!

I just carry a laptop bag always. I ironically don't even carry a laptop.... Just nexus keyboard and other necessities.
How about a Little Red Riding Hood basket?
