CHANGELOG - http://www.cmxlog.com/12/moto_msm8960/
This is NOT for those on the JBBL.
This is ONLY for those on the KBBL.
Anyone given this a shot?
I have, works fine. Then I went back to Blisspop.
Is it not that exciting?

Thread should have been created by a CM maintainer. Plenty of talk about CM12 (and L in general) in the the Lollipop thread.

I agree.
One CM12 thread would be useful if you ask me.
Still I wonder which maintainer will create it...
@epinter seems not actively maintaining anymore
@dhacker29 is still supporting moto_msm8960 (and we are grateful of course), but I believe he has moved on to newer devices.
@kabaldan is very active (and obviously, we are also grateful) and probably very busy. He may be our best chance...
EDIT: Sorry, forgot to mention that we are also very grateful for @epinter's previous work on the XT925...
I was hoping this thread would be specific to CM12 as Officially released by CyanogenMod.
Has anyone been able to test the following 'core' functions?
- Bluetooth (audio and phone)
- Camera
- SD Card
- WiFi
- MMS (both on cellular and WiFi)
- Youtube
- Netflix
- Chromecast

CM12 as Officially released by CyanogenMod has Official Maintainers. That's whom we're talking about.
It's theirs to open such a thread in the "RAZR HD Android Development" section.
Your questions belong to the "RAZR HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting" section.

Then why was this thread allowed to be started by a 'non-developer' in the 'Development' section?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/droid-razr-hd/development/lollipop-5-0-runs-msm8960s-kkbl-t2939832
Why wasn't that moved to the 'General' section?
I'll take a guess. It's because the 'Development' section is where people discuss the pros and cons of a specific ROM regardless of your semantical concern with forum titles.

Apparently you didn't read what I posted. All these questions are answered (for the most part) in the Lollipop thread. When a moto_msm8960 CM maintainer makes the CM12 thread, then we'll move it there.
People see YOUR thread and think YOU are the maintainer.
Thats what i thought when i posted. I would rather have a discussion with someone who actuallyvis involved in the development process. Not casting any aspersions on the op at all but cwg has a valid point. But i dont think the op did it for any reason other than info.

Why haven't you guys brought this 'glaring oversight' to the attention of this thread? http://forum.xda-developers.com/droid-razr-hd/development/lollipop-5-0-runs-msm8960s-kkbl-t2939832
How is that situation any different?
Anyway, I don't want to use any ROMs 'based on CM12'. I want to use CM12 because I care more about stability than themes and 'performance at the cost of stability'. So that's what this thread is about. If there are any bug fixes in these other 'based on CM12' ROMs you speak of, they will eventually be added to the Official CM12 code for moto_msm8960. I don't care to be on the bleeding edge so I don't mind waiting till everything that I care about works.
So does anyone know if the following works as of 01/09/2015 Official CM12 Nightly?
- Data (some people using ROMs that use a modified CM12 official release are reporting that during some reboots, data doesn't work and they have to reboot again)
- Bluetooth (audio and phone)
- Camera
- SD Card
- WiFi
- MMS (both on cellular and WiFi)
- Youtube
- Netflix
- Chromecast
- Root (native support through Privacy Guard)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/droid-razr-hd/development/lollipop-5-0-runs-msm8960s-kkbl-t2939832
Read the last 10-20 pages. This thread should be moved or renamed. When the CM12 thread is created by a maintainer, feel free to ask in there. Until then, the thread above is the current running thread for CM12 and those based on CM12.
All the answers to your questions will be found there.
And since you refuse to listen to reason, I will no longer comment on this thread and probably ask to have it moved/renamed.

I'll reply to my own post. A user on the 'other' forum using the Official CM12 Nightly claims he stopped experiencing the 'no data upon reboot' issue after disabling NFC. Though he says he doesn't use data much and relies more on WiFi. Other than that, he doesn't report any problems though he wasn't able to test MMS on cellular, Nefflix, or Chromecast.

No, it is not. You are not a maintainer or even a contributor as far as I can tell.
Hopefully one of the forum mods here will move this thread where it belongs, Q&A.
That'd be the most constructive thing you'll hear all day.

No, it wasn't started by a maintainer nor does it say "CM12 Official Nightly" either like yours does.
Yes, I tested it on a official nightly. I build CM12 for myself, not wait for someone to provide it for me.

Not quite true. The desire HD builds don't have a camera yet, for instance.
I suggest the OP reads each build thread carefully before trying, and searches before asking questions

Read each thread? Lol...if he did that, he wouldn't have created this thread...but anyway, most builds work. They all share similar things. All HD build have no camera is the exception.
For me, almost every Rom in this sub forum working really great...(sure in HD based, they still unstable)...
Just try a couple rom, and you will find out which suit u best....
This, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=824601 is probably the most up to date cyanogen build.
Hey guys I've noticed that a lot of people are reporting bugs and asking for help in Designgears' "[Tech Demo] Gingerbread for Captivate Build-4 (experimental) | CyanogenMod 7 Alpha 2" thread, which is something that he's requested not to happen. Just figured I'd start a user discussion thread so people can post bugs/issues and hopefully get support for it.

You can't have the development forum full of support threads for every release.

The thread doesn't necessarily pertain exclusively to the update.zips, but rather to the work being done on Gingerbread and CM7 as a whole. I understand that designgears just packaged the work done by supercurio and others into an update.zip, but that in itself is valuable, as it is easier for the people who have trouble doing all the adb commands and such. On top of that, support offered here is still relevant to people who have installed it via supercurio's method. Having this thread here makes it easier for everybody who has installed Gingerbread or CM7 on their Captivate to get help with either of these two projects.
P.S. I'm sorry, I understand that this thread probably belongs in General, so mods please feel free to move it if you see fit
Its not my position to say what belongs where but I'm glad to have this thread. I would still be running gb but had a cpl issues. My phone wouldn't go into landscape mode for one and youtube videos I was only getting sound no video.
Maybe issues everyone is having maybe not. Can't wait until it's done but I will keep trying each build. Thanks for the thread and happy holidays to all.

Designgears IS NOT working on the bugs. Read his posts. Supercurio and some others are. I'm sure they know the bugs. They also read these forums. Just let them work out the kinks. They'll get there. Or you could always code it yourself
Anyway, I hope to see a stable release soon!

Not sure why it would be in general considering this is highly development and I might add HIGHLY functional. It is a great ROM. But I wanted it in here because there isnt an EVO specific thread on it. I also figured it important to get the google apps link in there because that is not even easy to find from the cyanogen site itself.
People can flame all they want, I dont care. For each flamer, there are probably 10 others of whom it helped.
I edited my post as I didn't realise there was a nightly for CM7 in general. I just rarely look in general.

How is the thread not evo specific when it is in the evo general forum? Way to waste space.

I created one right after CM6 nightlies started back in July.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=729802
I certainly agree that it isn't going to be super noticeable since it is not in the dev section. I spend a lot of time maintaining the OP to consistently provide useful and relatively up to date info, since it is frustrating to not be able to find that stuff. Cyanogen (and occasionally other devs) check in to that nightly thread or the official thread in dev once in a while to see about any issues.
Cyanogen won't create a thread in dev unless he has a "stable" (RC or full) release, and I think the (very) rough moderation policy is that any thread in dev needs to be created by the developer. I created it in dev, and after a few days it was moved to Q&A. It was there for months and then suddenly moved to General. I'm not complaining, the mods here have a ton of work to keep stuff clean. And to their credit, there is a more official thread at the CM forums for the nightlies.

It is in the Evo -> General section, so it is Evo specific. The top of the op has a set of links for nightlies, gapps, etc. They are not in a formatted block so they show up properly on the Tapatalk/XDA app.
Someone else created another one around the time the CM7 builds started spinning.
Hope I don't come across like a dickhead that thinks my thread is more important that this one, I just want to provide what I can to be helpful, and prevent some of the duplicate effort we get.

Oh, you were in the fission thread here within the android development sub section and it wouldn't let you post? or were you trying to add a new thread with your issue? if it's the first one then I think there is a flaw with XDA's new posting scheme.
Yep, that's the thread I was in. I've been frequenting it for a while now, I just never needed to post anything. When I click on reply in that thread, I get this.
Goldfoot, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
1. Please Read: New members (those with fewer than 10 posts) are not permitted to post to development-related forums. The developer forums are intended for experienced users and developers to discuss ways to improve technical aspects related to ROMs and Software. While you may be an expert, we ask ALL users to avoid posting questions about using or installing ROMs and software in the Development Forums. To encourage this new Users can read but not post in these forums.
To ask Questions about developing your device, installing ROMs, software and themes you must go to the Q&A or General Forum.
Remember, your question has very likely been asked already, so please search before posting.

Oh. Well I would assume a reinstall of the ROM will fix it. Or maybe even try SBF'ing your phone if you came from a different ROM or have flashed many ROMs and haven't SBF'd yet.
If someone else hasn't posted anything about it then it's most likely with your set up and reinstalling usually fixes things. Maybe even PM Angdroid but it seems like he hasn't been on recently so...see if we can't get some posts under your belt in this thread discussing the problem so you can post in the Fission thread.
Also if you have a theme on sometimes reverting to a version of your setup with out that theme might fix an issue.
Well, I fixed the issue. This wasn't a huge issue so I didn't really look into it but a few days ago I was going to use some app that needed location info. It took me to the location settings of the phone, which I'd been to many times before, and I still had it checked to use wireless networks. Just to see what would happen I turned it off and then reloaded the app. It took me back to the settings page and I re-checked the option. After that it brought up the screen where I agree to allow the phone to determine my location and now it works.
Conclusion: The ROM has the option checked by default, but this is an issue because it doesn't give you a chance to actually agree to the terms, and thus the option isn't actually active. At least, that's how it was on mine.
It will get official support in few days with no bugs
Current bug is GPS it will fixed soon
