Not quite true. The desire HD builds don't have a camera yet, for instance.
I suggest the OP reads each build thread carefully before trying, and searches before asking questions

Read each thread? Lol...if he did that, he wouldn't have created this thread...but anyway, most builds work. They all share similar things. All HD build have no camera is the exception.
For me, almost every Rom in this sub forum working really great...(sure in HD based, they still unstable)...
Just try a couple rom, and you will find out which suit u best....
This, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=824601 is probably the most up to date cyanogen build.

wtf???!!! i was using one then the page refreshed and its gone and now im stuck with a half done phone...what gives
Everything was merged into the main hero thread.
Thread locked and moved.
This Ridiculous
There were multiple threads, each taking a different approach , about various issues concerning the HERO rom. I know the mods are doing their job but this is extremely frustrating when a thread is actually helping you. I managed to get HERO rom working with Lawrence's thread and then I tried to push a new VK through another Tutorial thread but guess what ? It was removed and now my VK doesn't work. How am I suppose to ask questions? Where did the thread go?
If you are going to delete a thread, move it, or merge it, it would be extremely helpful if there is a sticky or something letting us know.
they were all saying the exact same thing in 40 dialects, it's repetitive useless information and doesn't really do anything but clutter the forums.
I dont see one thread with the information i am looking for? where is the consolidation? where are they merged?

I totally agree. This deleting of the threads is getting out of hand. I was almost done with the step by step instructions by lawrence when the thread was deleted!!
I guess the short answer to your question is don't venture into uncharted waters, i.e. messing around with a beta ROM that you have no idea how stable it will be, and not really having an understanding of exactly how to troubleshoot on your own. This is a developers forum, not a place to ask a thousand questions, each of which has either been asked or answered already.

that's my point. its too bad because the only reason i got hero to run was because of Lawrence thread. now where is it?
--Bakler--
I dont want to ask questions; i just follow the developers own tutorials and thats it. but im forced to ask questions when the thread im using is removed.
JustAnotherCrowd - HERO ROM
There was a thread on a rom JustAnotherCrowd was about to release, looked real promising but now its been deleted.... What's up with that?
i swear people really? are you fing serious?
read the instructions, understand what they are doing, then do it. this stuff is beta, its not even suppose to work on the g1. if you want a stable os on your phone then dont fck with it.
creating threads crying about how somethingdidnt work just looks childish.
if you want to ask a question, goto the irc where people are there to help each other. creating thread after thread or posting after posting isnt going to solve your problems...
As someone who is NOT rushing off to unstable hero builds, I for one do like the cleaning up of those threads. If its hero related, it should be kept in hero thread. There was one hero thread, and 4 'how to fix hero' threads. This clutters up the forum. Everyone is rushing to an unstable build to get to rosie UI and not realizing flashing to hero requires some knowledge and following directions extra carefully.
Either people should STOP making new threads for fixing hero, or people actually read before flashing it to see EVERYTHING that is required to do before loading it.
Thanks mods.
mods are deleting **** for joke lol
stop creating threads asking where threads went.

As I'm using my mattc Android 1.5b build on my HD2 and it works almost PERFECT, I can't stop wondering if a flash ROM will be available in the future..
The reason I am asking about this is because whatever HTC winmo model I'm googling for (TD2 android, Blackstone Android..etc...etc) I ONLY find HaRET boot's.. As I haven't seen any Android flash ROM I'm wondering if that's even possible..?

You should really search before making a new post. Its not possible yet and if it was you would see a thread about it... This question has been asked about 40 times this month alone...When it comes out trust me you will know, So long as you READ and Follw this site like the rest of us
Yes I do read and follow. But I'm abit newbish on theese forums. I just found out that I should have questioned this in one of the stickys.. I apologize..
About that it's not possible, do you mean on the HD2 or in general?
My questions will go to the right thread from now on
As far as I've read it's looking like it MAY happen soonish. Currently, no all the builds are loaded off of your SD.

OR you could search, or even browse the forums for the answer, instead of asking a question which seems to be answered at least once a day here
I'm a 'newbie' too.... and we would forever be 'newbies' without searching/browsing/reading.
Check HTC Kaiser. It has NAND Android, and is/was winmo based.

Okay, so I recently bought my self an HD2 and I have been reading alot about the Android Builds but some stuff are still unclear to me. I have a couple of questions (probably very noobish) that I would like to ask.
1st. I see that every build has it's own Kernel and that there are many different Kernels. I want to know if I can change only the Kernel of a Android Build and also is there a place to read what different Kernels have to offer. For example what is the difference between MDJ S7.7, MDJ S7.6, Hastarin 8.5.3 and many more?
2nd. I read that I can copy the data.img (which I presume are my settings and stuff, but I am not sure ?) and paste in other Android Build and I want to know if it works with every build. Also what is the difference between 512 mb and 1gb ones and even bigger ones (2gb for example).
3rd. I know this is a very stupid question, but still I would like to here your opinions. Will there ever at any time be an Android ROM on the HTC HD2, cause this would greatly increase the batery life.
Well that's it for now. I hope I am not a complete moron to you guys and if you are lazy to answer me the questions please tell me a thread where I can read the answers, because I couldn't find one .

1. It's not being lazy to answer but you being lazy to read the instructions given in a particular build. If you thoroughly read the thread of each build then you'll know which kernel works and which dony. Also you can check the kernel thread to understand a particular kernel.
2. Same as number 1. Each build has instructions including the possibility to use the old data.img or you much have a clean one. Size has no relevance in speed, it's just the data space, like the internal storage of a native android phone.
3. I dont want to say it but it is a moronic question. Read before you ask, particularly the stickies.
By the way, you should ask in Q and A not in the discussion forum.

I don't see what your problems are, seriously. I really read alot of threads but couldn't find out the answers to the first two questions. The roms only mention the Kernel, they don't state the differences and I couldn't find the Kernel threads. Same goes for the data.img. Even if it is explained I don't see why I'm a moron for missing it and even if u think that I am moron just don't post me a reply. As for my 3rd question I wanted your opinion, not anything based on facts, just what you guys think. Anyways, ban me if you like.

You can't find the kernel threads? Seriously?!? Come on dude!
Read the CHANGELOGS, there you can see the difference. You still can't find it?
Again, same goes for the data.img, it is stated in each build thread.
No wonder you can't find it, you don't even know how to read replies.
I said "moronic question" on the third question not "you are a moron". Why moronic? Why do you ask for an opinion on a factual idea? Devs in XDA are a,ready testing and retesting Android on Nand. If you don't what that is, then that is where you really need to read threads specially stickies.
By the way, we don't have problems last time I checked. How about you, when did you check yourself?
read this for a start, any more question, you can come back and we will answer it

Hey . I would sugest

You can find it on the first page. This rom doesnt require a lot of knoledge of hacking. Everything you need is included. Also, the developer responds very fast.
Only thing I dont like is resolution of the screen. The rom is customised and the author likes smaller density of the screen. Everything is very small but there is an instruction how to change it.
You say dont feed the animals, but your the f**king animals.
Dont like a thread? Dont respond. If its going to get removed, a moderator will remove it. If you have an answer, then give it.
Dont sit there and massflame, nufags.
I suggest MDJ's CM7 2.3 release. Its quick, and as far as Ive seen, troublefree.

haha fagbag...i like that! whats worse that a fag.....a bag of fags. haha. hey you bag of fags!!!! haha that might be the only useful part of this whole thread. yall are right flaming doesnt help, but neither does answering the question in the wrong section. its not that ppl would rather flame than help, i think everyone on this site is here to get help or help others. i do both. I have also doine my fair share of posts in the wrong place and been flamed for it. heres the catch though, xda mods and staff have put a lot of effort into making this site as efficient and helpful as possible. When ppl just randomly post stuff because they didnt bother to search or try things themselves then you end up with random stuff posted all over the place. and the site would be a huge mess....trust me i have seen it. just go into some of the other forums and see how they look.....a mess. No its not nice to flame ppl but............in that thread there are 14+ posts and 1200+ views in less than 24 hrs. so had the question been answered nicely and no one flamed him before it got moved then all those ppl that post the exact same type question in the Q&A will see instead of waiting for an answer in there they can just mnake a post in here and it will get answered by someone as yourself. INSTEAD he got gently flamed and maybe he and the 1000 newbs that saw it learned not to post here. DONT TAKE IT PERSONALLY.
p.s. the 2 that started the name calling...fagbag,****,and dumfag. yall are the ones that really started the flaming. READ the rules before posting. yall have broken the rules as far as what can and cant be said in a post. As a gay american i am deeply hurt by your remarks and i hope you will be repremanded for it.
