I'm currently using Moto g2 but i definitely buy yureka on 13th. If I get one I'll tell you which one is better. But for now I think yureka is better.
And one more thing if u want to buy moto g2 I'm gonna sell mine

Concerns with MOTO G 2014
Chipset remains unchanged from 2013 edition
phone is light 2070 mAh battery and its made out of plastic
there is a slight gap in the speaker grill area
Concerns with YUREKA
People show weird expressions by hearing "MMX" Chinese REbranded phones.
U may want to wait to check the phone in ur hands ...
......but later on high demands company will hav to ramp up production in large no.s and there is risk of getting faulty hardware as there is no "QualityControl"
IF u wanna buy it immediately you may take a gamble on itz feel & the words of reviewers...
SENSOR "MYTHS" ....Lollipop update ''hav 2 wait till feb"

Battery Comparison???
Can u compare battery life of moto g 2nd gen and yureka on mixed usage.

I think yureka. It has top notch features in comparison to g2(everyone can google it and see obviously). Both r made of plastic and i doubt about the hardware toughness of micromax phones.?
U should probably wait for 1 to 2 months till these phones are popularised and sufficient reviews are uploaded by developers.

Every device has it's own pros and cons... like in this case Yureka has impressive specs for the price bracket, but since people are claiming that it's a rebranded Chinese device I'd question the build quality ?
About the Moto G 2014, it has good build quality but the device specs remain the same for the price bracket (snapdragon 400 for 12k ). Also you should consider the after sales service of a phone, now here yureka is offering warranty even when your phone is rooted... so that's a good point versus the traditional saying that "Rooting your device will void the warranty." But since it's micromax backing i'd doubt their sales service
But the main thing is that's its your decision , listening to other people's views or opinions will confuse you more (trust me i had experienced this). Just buy the device which suits your daily needs.

Moto G will be upgraded to android L

Motorola announced on their hangouts chat that it will be bringing android L to (old) moto g as well. But IMO we will probably get it later than the new version..
That's some great news!

Yup, listen the video from 21.00 mint.
He told past version can also expect/ will get the next L upgrade after New Moto G update:good:.
What i think is "Probability for Legacy Moto G upgrade is more, since New & Legacy version have same base H/W configuration, Except Camera & SD card slot (On major end of change) so If 2nd Gen is updated than it will not be a big deal for Motorola to upgrade the legacy product also.. "
That's all I wanted to hear.. Thanks again Motorola for this awesome device!! Switching from Sony to Motorola was one of the best decisions I've made...
very good news for a very good phone :good:
Shouldn't be a issue as the new one has same spec as the old one except the screen size and SD card
Great! I couldn't be happier with this phone
Yea we would be getting l but how long is the question! I think next year mid June

Are you serious? Motorola tends to roll out Android updates rather quickly. I would guess by this November or December at the latest.

I thought he meant how long will it be supported til rather than when the L update would be released. Anyhow, either way, the L update would probably occur after the Moto G2 so dec/ Jan does seem reasonable. Of course it might take longer if you're locked with a carrier as we've already seen with 4.4.4.
Sorry I meant how we'd still get support for the device as seen in the pass where a lot of Moto devices lose support quickly

They will at least support it as long as L is the active release. I'm guessing at least another year. And since the new Moto G is the same basic chipset as the current version, maybe even longer.
Awesome news.. So it's probably not too far fetched we may see cm12 and more..

So I can see many people are happy with the moto g, I just got mine and actually felt bad, like I was a trader to Sony! They have always been my favorite since cell phones first came out pretty much, I am however enjoying the G for the most part, only thing is....I thought the G was the x I think. Is the X a better phone than the G? Should I stick with the G, or get the X? Honestly tho, I'd really like if the G had T9 as well, any apk suggestions for good t9 keyboards? The ones in play all suck.
Thanks everyone! I am kind of glad I made the switch from Sony,? lol

The Moto X is the higher end phone to the Moto G. Not necessarily better however. Better for some people might not be better for you. The Moto X has a faster SoC and more RAM, a slightly larger screen and additional always-on voice functionality. Software wise they are essentially the same.

I just ran away from Sony's side because the lack of updates.. That's why.. Besides, I started to like a lot more the AOSP UI rather that NXT UI on Sony devices... Just took a look at Xperia Z3 UI.. that battery icon is awful... too bad.. and that new launcher that looks like stock Android launcher just doesn't fit there, looks like Z3 comes with Nova Launcher as stock launcher.. That new UI on Sony (which will be present from now on in every Sony device) made me think I've made the right choice..

If you want t9 u can try smart keyboard pro.i am using that keyboard since my 1st smart phone.qwerty layout just not for my big thumb.

adios moto!

nothing worse than a promising device , the moto x has a brilliant screen , I like how it feels , the size is just too small and the boot loader issue is a game breaker , I tried the chinaman , no luck and I dont blame Motorola , i dont even have att , but they wont unlock the bl~
Great devs in here no less , this was first (and last Motorola device) , was usually sticking with Samsung , but I dont like the idea of the Dev phones or the gpe phones ,so I bought a OnePlus One ! The OPO rocks in every category and I am not a slave the carriers and there bs (i have straight talk anyway) , but unlocked is the only way to go!!!
Ill be cleaning out my moto x and [probably selling on craigslist )

Got that Griffin dock? If so i will buy it
Cya! I bought a Droid Maxx after playing around with the wife's Moto X. I was looking at everything from LG G3 to iPhone 6 but none had Active Display and Touchless Control. Her Moto X was unlocked using Sunshine, mine is still locked but I'm running 4.4 so I can unlock anytime I want. For me, functionality trumps benchmarks. The Moto X's battery life is impressive, she doesn't charge her phone for days at a time. I'm a much heavier user and my Maxx has plenty of juice left at the end of the day. Motorola has impressed me a lot under the ownership of Google. The Assist software is also very cool. The new Moto X and Maxx/ Turbo looks great but I need an unlocked boot loader and I don't know when that will happen on the new machines. Hence, I scratched the new Moto X off my shopping list. Also read that the battery life is laughable, even though it is still decent when strictly on LTE and is actually a little better than the 2013 Moto X.
Enjoy your new phone. However, imagine if everyone made a thread like this after they changed phones? It would be swamped with these threads burying useful information.

Is the LG G" still worth it?

Hi, I can't make up my mind. Should I buy this phone LG G2or should I go for a moto g 2015?
I don't like the G3 because it heats up insanely...
Thanks for the help.
Edit: sorry for my mistake in the thread title. It should be "Is the LG G2 still worth it?"

Coming from someone who owns both a G2 & Moto G, get the G2.
Moto G 2015 is a good phone no doubt but no match for the G2.
I was in the same dilemma a fee weeks back, if you're well versed in rooting and roming then definitely get the G2(that's what I did), has a more powerful processor, higher resolution display, bigger screen, better screen to body ratio, etc.
The only issue is the software, as I said if you want a good software experience you'll have to root it.

I'm planning to get one as a 2nd phone for work
The g2 is great to be honest I like it more then some of the phones that came out this year maybe because I get ROMs without ruining the phone or having hard flashing directions
The device itself is great, but be careful where you buy it from. Some people (myself included) have purchased 'frankenphones', devices that are made up of parts from different model G2's.
Thanks. I'm buying it from Amazon. Should be original.
Did you buy it in a Chinese store?

My wife has moto g 3rd gen and my two-years old g2 is still much better (performance, usability) and there are so many excellent custom ROMs like Ressurection Remix for instance, so good choice...

The 3rd Gen Moto G is a good phone as I've just bought one for a friend.
Even though my G2 is still running stock 20H KK 4.4.2, there is no way I'd swap it for a Moto G. Even though the G2 is 2 years old now, you can still see its a premium phone. Battery, Screen Quality, IR blaster, LED Notification Light, Battery.........
In 2 years time, some will still be rocking a G2.
Everybody is praising the lg g2. great.

I received my OnePlus 2 yesterday, but be sure I'll not give up G2 for now. Also Android M AOSP development started on G2, so I'll try to compile it for the G2.
So yeah, G2 is still a great phone.

Good bye Yureka

Since last 2.5+ years, yureka have given us nothing but joy and excitement. But I guess at least for me time has come to move on. I am sure many users are in same dilemma as I am. So following are requisites for potential new android.
1. It should have same strong community support like yureka has. That allowed us to play with yureka in most insane way.
2. It should be less then 25,000 (budget problems). So Nexus, galaxy and all other fancy phones are out of picture.
3. It should have good battery life. We know how we suffered battery with yureka, that was only downside.
4. We can discuss about chipset, CPU, operating system, RAM here to get the best of current market.
Cheers

no oreo update for the E4 & E4 plus?

so ive been reading moto will not be updating the e4 or the 4 plus to oreo. is this true? if so ill be getting another device, theres no excuses for this. i swear ever since levono bought them they have gone downhill. looks like no more moto devices for me. even a 4 year old iphone still gets updates.
Unfortunately the days of Google's Motorola is over.
As far as I'm concerned, they have completely abandoned the Boost Mobile variant. It's November and we're still on the May security patch... dafuq. But that's Android, no real rules. OEMs do as they like without any concern for their users. You kinda roll the dice when you buy Android phones. I have a 2 year old LG Stylo 2 that was patched in September with the September/Blueborne patch.
And if you're like me, and are concerned about support, security and longevity, buy an iPhone, I did (iPhone 6s Plus) and have not looked back. I buy Android phones to play with, nothing more.
id get a 6s but they are too expensive for the age. I dont need monthly patches but they could of at least gave 1 major update. im not in a finacial position to buy a high end device. looking into a nokia 6 or honor 6x. even those will get oreo. this will be my last moto device.
Boost was pushing these bad boys out for $39 for a while. So I didn't expect any updates. Grabbed the virgin mobile one for my wife, she loves it.
For security patches, there are a bunch of ROMs being built by amarc78. But no CDMA support yet (Sprint, boost, virgin) but gsm is a gold mine of up to date ROMs.

the phone is more than capable of running oreo, thats what upsets me. moto has done this too many times in the past. i know i have alot of roms to choose from but it would probably help the devs out to have official 8.0 roms and a kernel to work with.
Someone will make an Oreo ROM for this, its just a matter of time.
In mediatek version there is already one dev working on Oreo ...in a month or two Oreo will come out

But - IMO I don't believe we should have to resort to custom ROMs to have updated security. No matter the cost of your device.

well you are comparing the support of a budget line android with apple ...if you had a one plus five o samsung s6/7/8 Note etc etc you would have all sorts of roms and support comin at you from all sides
the moto e4 cost like 100$ max bro and that ain't what apple is charging
overcharges perhaps not then but they don't offer any phones at a price point i want to pay for a phone with closed sources and locked bootloaders
you certainly wont be flashing no custom rom on apple devices anytime soon .....the max you can do is theme it with some limited jailbreak apps

it's none of my business bro but did you really think your actions through properly when you bought yourself an iphone 6 then give your kid ( who you love i presume ) a device you don't want cos you feel it's security is compromised ....just sayin bro
kids come first for me security wise ...i think with root access and various mods you can secure your android phone and that's part of the fun and why i spend time on xda ...
i used to have some ios devices like 3, 3g , 4 , 4s and then i got tired of having a phone that is always exactly the same style wise ...there have been improvements for sure but never for that price ...anyway i digress
enjoy your iphone bro its a good phone but i just don't understand why you gave your kid the e4 or why you didn't buy a good ( higher class) android device if you had the money to start with
or why you come back to moto e4 forum if you dont have that device anymore and gave it to your kid because of security concerns
i understand you are a themer but are you theming for e4 or android or apple
either way bro no offense intended . keep well and all the best but i still say if you compare price / quality and the open sources and unlocked bootkoader e4 is a good devive and for people on a budget buy one and join us to flash custom roms and have fun here on XDA . The more device owners the more support .........the phone is kickass for a phone of 50-100$...
it can do almost everything an iphone can just a little more slowly
peace :good:

I'm trying to decide between buying the Boost Mobile version of the E4 or the fully unlocked Moto E4 off Motorola's website. If both can get Oreo that'd be great. The US-market E4 runs on Qualcomm, probably doable to make a custom ROM compared to the Mediatek processor
If it worth spending double on the E4 by directly purchasing from Motorola?

Oh - hmm, if you plan on unlocking and only using custom ROMs, I'd go for the Boost E4. But if you want to use both, OEM ROM and custom ROM, go for the unlocked.
EDIT: If you could afford it, go with the Moto E4 Plus. It's a much better phone than the regular E4.

IDK - depends on criteria. I like the removable (and easily replaceable) battery on the regular E4 along with lighter weight and higher PPI. Once you wander into E4 Plus territory might as well go for the G5 unless a wando sized battery is top priority.
