Hi,
I'm a newbie to the forum.
I'm hoping someone can shed some light on why no music plays on my Note 4 after I've plugged in the earphones and pressed the play button on the earphones remote?
With thanks,

Do you hear any sound if you play on the phone directly without using the remote button?
Are you using the stock headphones or third-party?

Using stock earphones
Yes, I'm using the stock earphones that came in the box with the Note 4.
The earphones work perfectly when I use any music, YouTube, iPlayer or any app that plays sound (or videos or for calls) by using the handset, but I was expecting to plug the stock earphones in to my Note 4, press play on the remote and the default music app to start playing but nothing happens.
Thanks,

Hello, I just got my unlocked Aria from eBay and when I try to listen music through my headphones it doesn't work. I have tried on my computer and they work just fine. Also the speakers are working just fine. The only way that I can get it to work is by reset the device or turn on the FM radio. I'm using the stock version from att 2.1, with sense. This is getting annoying, please help.
Pd. Sorry for the english.

I've also got a similar issue with the headphone jack.. sometimes, it just won't work.
A soft reset fixes the problem, but it's kinda annoying because the phone takes a while to boot and load everything up!~
It's strange, because upon plugging in the earphones, it automatically "Plays" music without me having to press play.

Still wondering why the headphone jack doesnt work sometimes...
HI, I don't want any notifications or ringtones to play through the back speaker of my S4 when the headphones are plugged in. I want to ONLY hear those sounds in my headphones. Completely muting the phone doesn't work because then obviously I wouldn't hear anything in the headphones either.
So, is it possible to do this on the GT-i9505 ?
My old Samsung Galaxy Spica did this and I really miss that "feature".
That's weird yours plays thru the rear speaker mine plays everything thru the headphones when connected
HA! this is a hugeass issue on every android I've owned. im assuming you're using poweramp or something right? the stock player pauses the song to play it thru the headphones which is probably why that dude up ^^ doesn't get that.
anyways some kernels fix this, namely Boeffla Sound on the sgs3. sadly I've seen no fix on the s4. SO! , here's what your can do; in your music player (power amp, etc), under audio settings, turn on Settings>Audio>Audio Focus> and tick 'Short Audio Focus Changes', this will pause your music on notifications.
ORRRRR a far better solution is when you plug in your 3.5mm jack headphones (cause this shii* doesn't happen on bluetooth), you can just pull down your notification bar and tap over to vibrate mode. then you'll hear notifications IN YOUR HEADPHONES a little quieter but still noticeably behind your music, and your music won't pause or mute or anything.

Got my Note3 on VZW last night, and so far i love almost everything about it....except...
I am sitting at work streaming music. I have a set of speakers plugged into the headphone jack.
When i receive an SMS (or any notification), the music pauses like normal. However, right before and after the pause, i hear a "pop" sound, as if i physically unplugged the speakers and plugged them back in. My Gnex that the note replaced definitely did not do this.
I don't believe it made the sound when connected BT in my car.
Is anyone else seeing this behavior? It sounds like a grounding issue.
Same for me

I am using Rhapsody, so there isn't another app option. I dont have any local music on the phone yet, but i will try that at some point.
I stream music through Rhapsody every day. I hope this isn't a hardware issue. Seeing poweramp work better makes me hopeful it is just a software issue.
AS the title would suggest, I'm having a small issue with my headset button.
I got my G2 today and while excellent, my previous phone, HTC One, would react perfectly to the headset button.
I use doggcatcher often and when pressing the button on the One, the podcast would play or pause perfectly. I could remove my headset and an hour later connect it back, hit the button and back playing where it left off.
With the G2 the damn music app keeps playing and it will play the choir ringtones. Even if I am playing a podcast in Doggcatcher and I hit the button the music player will interrupt Doggcatcher to play the ringtone.
Is there a fix for this? Or a way to disable the build in stock music player which I will NEVER use.
Solved it

What was the fix?
What was the fix for this? I am having a similar issue, but my headset will only launch the dialer and I can't figure out how to make ANY music or podacst app respond to my wired headset button.
Hi,
My music suddenly cut out when playing on my Note 4. When I play without headphones it plays through the speakers just fine. When I plug in the headphones it recognises that they are there, because it stops playing through the speakers, but does not play through the headphones. I have tried with multiple headphones so the problem is the phone. Help!
Thanks for any help in advance.
Get a can of air an blow out the jack. Maybe something is stuck in the jack
