Nexus 7 Not charging properly since CM11 - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've had an original Nexus 7 since it was release and had kept it stock. However it was running really slowly, after suffering that for months I finally got time to look at sorting it.
I decided to root it and put on a new ROM. I choose CM11. I downloaded and installed CM11 M5 along with GAPPS. After installing it the updated to CM11 M12.
I set the nexus up yesterday with all the different apps I needed etc. I also installed the apex launcher and altered the DPI to 160 using the rom toolbox.
I noticed however that the battery was decreasing whilst I was using it even though I had it plugged into my laptop. I don't normally charge it this way so ignored it. When I had finished the battery was down to 16% so I put it on the dock and left it overnight. When I looked at it this morning it had powered off, it switched back on but only showed 2% and quickly turned back off again. I took the lead out of the dock and plugged it into the nexus and left it. When I came back later it was up to 16%. During the day it has been used some of the time (whilst plugged in) and left on charge the rest of the time. My daughter was just using it and it powered off so flat again.
With the stock ROM it charged quite quickly and would have to be doing some intensive gaming etc to use more battery than it was charging but since the ROM update just general use flattens it quicker than it can charge and charging is taking much longer.
I was using an ipad plug with the dock and the original ASUS lead, but I have tried the original ASUS plug and the original lead but it has made no difference.
Please don't tell me I'll have to go back to stock as it is so much faster now - it doesn't lag any more and I've spent ages setting it all back up as I wanted it with separate user profiles etc!
Is there an easy fix? I've done a bit of reading about fastcharge kernels but have no idea if CM11 has one but then I read that the fastcharge only affects charging from a PC USB port?

[Q] Nexus 4 Charging Issues...Both Wired and Wireless (more than AC vs USB complaint)

Basic Info: I'm currently running **[4.2.2][CM10.1][LINARO]Team Asylum CM10.1 Nighty, build date April 18 (Had recently flashed lastest nightly, then started noticing my charging issue, and flashed an earlier version to see if that would fix it.. it didn't).
The problem: I let my phone on my wireless Energizer Qi charger overnight. Charging indicator lights all went on, and I went to bed. I woke up the next morning and noticed that the phone was only at 37%. Putting the phone on the wireless charger, i noticed it will light up, then turn off, then light up, then turn off. Figured, something wrong with the charger/case, so I removed the case and tried again, same thing. Tried attaching to computer via USB, and the same thing happened, the connection dropped in and out. Now I have it attached to wall outlet, and the same thing is happening, especially if I move it around.
I managed to get it to a consistent charge (says USB though its plugged into wall..) by leaning the phone up against something, but if I move it it cuts out...
I first was thinking maybe there's something wrong with the microusb port, like what happened with my HTC Evo after a while.. but the same thing happens with the wireless charging.. So, I'm not sure what to do.. Whether it's a rom issue, a hardware issue, a kernal issue.. Any thoughts on what I should do? Wipe battery stats?.. RMA?.. Complete nandroid restore?
Adding: I have Snapdragon Battery Guru on there.. if that's relevant to anything.. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.xiam.snapdragon.app&hl=en

UPDATE. Flashed francos milestone 2, and the problem seems to have disappeared.
UPDATE 2: jk it's still doing it.
I've had the same issue for about a month now. I removed the snapdragon battery guru app and it doesn't do it as often now but it will still do it. I also calibrated my battery with a battery calibration app when it became fully charged and now it will only do it about once every three days. I don't really have any other advice than that, all I know is that my phone started doing it after I finally caved and flashed a kernel.

I have the same issue and I'm completely stock and unrooted. I will wake up in the morning and the battery is at, say, 80%. Unplugging the a/c and plugging it back in doesn't help at all. I have battery widget reborn and it tells me my battery is charging at 1% per 30 minutes. This morning I hooked it up to my HTC 8X charger and it immediately started charging correctly so I'm inclined to believe it may be the charger but it could've been coincidence since other times unplugging and replugging it works. Some other times I have to power off and then on in order for it to work again.

[Q] Charging problem with 4.4.3

Completely stock unrooted Nexus 4. Just upgraded to 4.4.3 via OTA a few days ago.
Charging via USB from a computer (as opposed to a wall outlet) now doesn't work right. It always used to take longer since there was less current available, but now it doesn't work at all. If the phone is on, it will actually lose power rather than charge over time when hooked to the PC. If the phone is off, it will charge, but WAY WAY slow, left mine hooked up to my laptop all night (~7 hours) and it only went from 10% to 60%, whereas previously it would have been fully charged in maybe 3-4 hours.
?
I found the issue. Shortly after I updated Android, I updated my Good For Enterprise app for my work email. So long as Good is running in persistent mode, the phone will not charge via USB and the battery drains wicked fast (basically two sides of the same problem). Shutdown Good and everything works fine. God I hate Good.

Help! Suddenly G2 dead slow charging

Since 2 weeks, my phone (802 international/unlocked) started to charge very slow. It takes now around 5-6 hours just for 50%, even longer when I keep using it. When switched off, the phone charges normal and is full in around 2 hours.
I use the original wall charger and cable, which worked fine before. Also tried others to no avail.
I'm completely stock, 4.4.2, stock kernel, rooted, using greenify, lagfix premium, seeder. Some frosted bloat apps, but no changes since months. Gsam battery widget is showing now a max charge of 295-500mA only, usually hovering around 300mA. Nothing close to what those chargers can do on their respective phones.
Tried 3 different chargers, stock LG, Gnex, Samsung S4 with their respective original cables to no avail. Tried my external battery pack, it can't even keep up charging anymore when using the phone.
Tried to play around with Trickster Mod, but there is no fast charging option for the stock kernel. No new wake locks or new apps installed.
Played with USB/PC Connection settings, charging only, MTP etc... No effect.
I want to avoid a factory reset, if possible.
Anyone has any more clues, what else I could do?

Battery - Charging being inhibited

Have searched the forum and Google and haven't found anything yet. Usually good at performing obscure random searches but not this time. First off, I am running stock rooted 4.4.4 NI2. Running xposed and wanam but haven't found anything pertaining to my dilemma there either. Onto my issue...
I noticed after I got the phone a couple of months back that it wouldn't be at 100% when I woke up. Usually would be around 97 or so... No big deal. I tested chargers (my wife has/and had an s5 before I purchased mine) and cables with no real difference that I could see. I figured it was some type of protection built into the phone so when it achieved a full charge, it would stop charging until needed. I was perfectly fine with this, but that wasn't the big issue. I have also noticed that if I plug my phone in to charge and end up having to move to another outlet or get into my vehicle, when I plug it in again it won't charge.
The screen will come on acknowledging that it is plugged in, but it will not charge for an extended amount of time. It is almost like the phone has protection built-in so that if there is an issue with a charger/port connecting and disconnecting continuously, it will inhibit the charging until it has a consistent current. I, for instance, am about to head to the gym and wanted to charge my phone before going. It was at 13%, plugged into my nightstand charging. My wife and son got home and are going to take a nap so I unplug and go into the living room to continue charging. It was at 31% and when i plugged it back up a few seconds later it would not charge. I kept it plugged up as i was typing here and it didn't resume charging until is over halfway through writing this post. (5-10 minutes maybe? Haven't tried counting it exactly... Yet) Haven't heard or seen anything like this previously on multiple devices (Samsung, htc, 3 nexus devices, etc.) and haven't been able to find anything online so thought I'd ask here.
Also, sorry if anything isn't stated in a way to describe things perfectly. If anyone has any questions or thoughts, I would truly welcome them.
Thanks in advance.

problem - daydream vs sleep

Hi,
So I was using my Nexus 7 wall mounted, and on KK daydream worked perfectly. I had quotes scrolling all day, and if you needed something you just touched the screen and the quotes would go away, and you could do whatever you needed. I upgraded to 5.1 and now the tablet daydreams for a little while, but then the screen turns off, necessitating pressing the power button to wake the tablet up. I flashed pure nexus for MM last night thinking this was something inherent to 5.1, but it is still doing it under the new rom.
Anyone know what I am doing wrong? I basically just want a screen saver that goes away when you touch the touchscreen.
Thanks,
Josh
No one else is having this problem? Or am I the only one who uses daydream?
So, I had the tablet plugged into an outlet that had two USB ports in it (I installed an outlet that had a regular 110v plug on the top and 2 USB ports where the second outlet would normally be). I pulled the USB cable out of the outlet USB port, and took a standard 1.35a wall wart and plugged it into the regular outlet, and then the tablet daydreamed for several hours before going to sleep. What am I doing wrong?
A few ppl have had issues with 5.1 regarded charging/lag/ deep sleep, but iv yet to see a conclusive answer to these problems, I for one since lollipop have had a few issues, first was serious lag and power drain while charging, now after a few updates on the Rom I'm using I'm only having charging issues, however what promoted me to reply here is today I noticed that when my daydream came on the battery% would stay where it is but if I interrupted the daydream by pressing the power button and tuning it off the battery% would go up, so I'm assuming that daydream is causing some sort of power drain while powered on and charging cause I don't have this issue when my tab is powered off and charging. As for the deep sleep thing I think it's a kernel thing cause at present I'm also testing an update to the ROM I'm using and I'm having the same issue that you have mentioned, I created a thread under (power drain) there is a link to the 5.1 Rom I'm using try it v1.9.4 is stable I did not have the daydream/ deep sleep issue on that.
