Going round in circles trying to find what was very easy on the S5.
Is it possible to disable the feature that has the Galaxy phone a contact when swiping to the right? I cannot for the life of me find where I can change this setting? Any help would be appreciated

Not in mine. Contact-settings has the following options only:
1) Only contacts with phones
2) Sort list by
3) Display contacts by
4) Service numbers
5) Contact sharing settings
None of those allow the setting I'm looking for

Do you mean the left and right softkeys? There are many ways of doing this. Doing a search on softkeys would give you some hints.

Further..if you click the "power off" button to put the phone in standby slide to unlock automatically comes on when you turn the phone back on.

You cant on Stock. Shows how rushed or poorly thinked through the 4.2 update was in my book.
Edit: look for widgetsoid or something like that on play store though.
Or use CM10.1.
And configure your QS as you wish.
Stock quick settings wifi button is useless:silly:... what's the point in that? it's quicker just to go to main settings.
hi. anyone found out how to disable floating pop-ups? i see the option to disable it, but then you'd also disable the vibrate/sound.
is there a method to disable only the floating pop-up?
What are you referring to?

no. when a text comes in, it pops up at the top of the screen. thats the thing i want to get rid off, but cant seem to unless you turn off sound/vibrate as well.
Did you try settings>apps> then select the app that you want to disable floating popup > scroll all the way down to the bottom and select apps that can appear on top and then switch this option off.
I did this for esexplorer which kept showing floating add icons

how to remove headsup or peeking notifications ? on the LG G6 THANKS.
I don't have any peeking notifications unless you're talking about the phone call popup that shows when you're using the phone
When I get a text or any message the notification comes down on the screen I just want to remove that feature of it showing up on the screen while I'm doing something

Okay no what about other apps? I use Hangouts fpr my texting and it doesn't have this option. Any ideas?
The same question for me. I have peeking with whatsapp also, even if whatsapp has this option and by default has always been disabled. I don't like peek notifications I would like to understand how to remove them by phone options, not by app.

These are uploaded in order. Easier than typing it out as I'm working right now

I managed to find that option. It's available in Facebook, or Facebook Messenger or in Facebook Messenger "Lite" too, but it's not available in Whatsapp that is my main interest
Can you check whatsapp?
Follow method 1 in this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/howto-4-to-disable-heads-notifications-t3197660
it worked for me
Heads up notifications are a blood pain in the backside, horrible user experience

- HeadsOff https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jamworks.noheadsup&hl=en_GB ;

This was driving me nuts too, for Google Hangouts. Tried "Do No Disturb". Didn't work. Very frustrating when using the phone full screen in landscape mode.
I can't find any option to remove or disable the edge panel. Is there a way to do that?
Try going into Settings> do a search for "edge".
Turn off.

There is no such setting anywhere in the settings.
Open edge panel, punch gear icon, turn off
I would do that if that'd be an option. No gear icon.
I have Samsung Galaxy Tab E 9.6 (Android 4.4.4)
Try finding it in apps.
Sure it's Samsung Edge? Not another app or malware?
I really tried everything! That's why I asked here. I'd appreciate if someone who turned it off on this exact tablet would tell me exactly how it was done.

Without the gear icon you can't adjust the settings. With the panel open it appears in the lower right hand corner at least on Notes.
I like Kitkat but it's primitive compared to Pie.
Possible malware... play with it.
No option to disable it. Not malware, just a "feature".
Maybe there's an app or something that gets rid of it? I have my tablet rooted.
OMG, I just figured it out. It's called "Multi window". Disabling that gets rid of it. Multi window
Problem solved!

Yeah I can see why it was hard to find
However Edge Clipboard is very useful as it allows you to store a dozen or so cut/paste's.
I use this constantly. The hidden tab is fully adjustable on the Note's so it doesn't get in the way.
