[Q] Received text not showing name on N900t after lollipop

I am always on the move and stuff so i need to be able to see wh text me without picking u the phone. but ever since the 5.0 update my phone doesnt do it anymore, it only says message and thats annoying i think. Can anyone teach me to revert it to 4.4.2 messaging i guess.

You could try Hands Free mode. It announces the name of who is texting me.

Settings > Sounds and Notifications > When Device is Locked > select 'Show all Content.'
This also re-enables music player controls on Lockscreen.

Alert slider mapping

I'm currently thinking of a remapping app (remapping as in changing a physical button's output) , but I do not own a oneplus two. Can somebody tell me what the alert slider's keycodes are?
If any of you is willing to help but do not know how to find such info, I attached an apk (that I built from an open source code) to this post. Please install and open the app then change the alert slider state, screenshot the output then send them to me. Also, please state what ROM version you are running.
When the app is finally released to an xda thread, I'll list all the testers there of course.
P.S: The Alert Slider is that new hardware slider that changes sound profiles, in case you didn't already know

Here is the screenshot, hope it helps, makes sense to have the silent mode in the down position.

Swapping the "none" profile and "all" profile was exactly what I was thinking.
Can you please tell me what the output of the other states of the slider was?
EDIT:What you actually sent me was the mapping of the back button

That is what I am trying to achieve. If you own a One Plus Two, please download and install the apk and send me the screenshots after you toggle each alert slider state

The app does not do anything when toggling alert slider unfortunately.

Would be great if we could reverse the mappings, so instead of all notifications with the slider being all the way down it would be all the way up for all notifications.
Slider up: All notifications
Slider middle: Priority
Slider down: Silent

Strange idea, but what if for each slide matched a battery profile, like battery saver, balanced, performance?

I thought about having multiple layout options : battery modes;CPU governors; rotation change etc..
However I still haven't found the alert slider mapping file :/ This is becoming quite frustrating

Will have my OPT soon and will do anything I can to help out with this. Think the All/Priority/None options are not useful at all.

Wow, thanks! How about the two other states? none and all ?

For all its f8(not 100% sure) .... It's takin a looot of time n not recording for d other one..... May b cause m not rooted yet

You just need to follow the instruction and enjoy the vibration.

Message app is silenced

Can anyone help me out, My messenger app is silenced been thru almost everything on the phone to try and turn it on..Anyone have an idea on what to do? Pic enclosed and thanks in advance!

Hi, have you checked the settings to make sure it's not silent? Check my screen shot. You'd have to tap where it says silent.

Thanks for the reply..That's the first placed I looked and that setting is off..Went thru permissions,etc.. clueless at the moment

Is there a "Do Not Disturb" setting in Sounds and Notifications? I don't have mine yet, so I can't check for myself. but that has tripped my up a few times on my HTC 10.

If Do Not Disturb is not on, look for a setting called "Smart settings".... it is under General > Smart Functions [Label] > Smart Settings.... if you set the home screen settings to enable the Smart Bulletin Screen you can also get to it from there

I am having the same issue. I am pretty good with this stuff and see no way of changing this.

I figured it would be a matter of time before someone else chimed in with the same problem..I still haven't found a solution other than a new app for messaging..

Went to t mobile today. They did a warranty swap for.me. LG told.me.to.send it to them for as service after factory reset did not work.

Maybe I'll do the same cause I'd rather not use textra

This is a feature of android 7.0. When you receive the message, swipe down from the top to show your notifications, press and hold the messaging notification and then you should get an option to select that states Don't silence. It's probably set to Show Notifications silently.

How to get notifications working?

Hey, just got my ZTE Nubia Z17, just wondering if any of you guys have gotten the notifications to work. Tried giving the apps different permissions etc, but still no notifications from apps like messenger and snapchat. No LED light nor screen lightup?

I would like to know how too

What the home key doesn't flash for notifications???

Hi. You can solve the problem wout root the device. Just go to neoSafe in energy/application power management/ choose your app/ then choose Regardless of control.
With that your app will keep working when your screen is locked.
Then go to settings and search apps notifications then activate the ones you want.

hey, i dont have the neosafe app, i already try evrything dude, pls help me somebody

For me, no way to get notifications !!!
chinese and International firmware
NO lockscreen notifications
NO count badge
Only bar icon notification
for whatsapp, facebook, gmail
tried
Convert to system app
neosafe settings in chinese rom
locked in tasks
only way was install Notifyer+

i bought Nubia Z17 lite, and i have the same problem, i searched for neosafe in settings i could find it but it cannot be open.
i don't want to root my phone to get OTA updates and to don't break my warranty.
is any one here found a solution for this problem of not getting notification?

I had the same issue with my z17 lite but after many efforts I managed to solve it.
So that's what worked for me.
Settings / Apps /Viber and check all the notifications.
After that:
Settings /Apps/ Show system/neosafe and check all the notifications.
Restart your phone and the notifications work great.

Hello,
try this solution for Whatsapp:
1. Settings/Notification Center/Application Notification/Whatsapp
Turn on all points
2. Settings/Apps/Autostart management
add Whatsapp
You can do it for all application that need.

New notifications do not show pop up

I am currently using Oreo March security patch, and the notification such as new messages, emails do not pop up but only show the icon of the app on the top left Conor which makes me feel uncomfortable. I have turned off the edge lighting and all the app notifications are on. But it just wouldn't pop up. Only after I reboot the phone then it works again. I also have tried to force stop the message app, not working well.
Anyone has similar experience? PLS help
