[Q] N9005 Colombia / International Update Help - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey everyone, I really need help.
I've been looking for answers for a long time and found nothing, I'm getting desperate.
I have a SM-N9005 with COO as original CSC code (Colombia)
CSC Version : N9005UUBBMI1
PDA version : N9005VJUBMI7
Baseband version: N9005VJUBMI6
Android 4.3. Knox 0x0
I don't want to trip knox and I don't really need to root I just want to update. However if I can root without loosing warranty and knox 0x1 I could try,
I want to update my Android but Colombia doesn't go anywhere beyond 4.3 so my questions are.
-Can I download a KitKat firmware from another country from SamMobile and install it using odin?
-What country should I use?
-Do I have to wipe all my data?
-Will Knox trip?
-Should I go with 5.0 Lollipop or stick with Kitkat and wait?
-Bluetooth and Wifi will be fine?
-Where can I do all of this if it is possible?
I know they're a lot of questions, but if you can answer them you would save me a lot of time and pain.
Thanks.

UUB is a multi-CSC firmware, it includes COO (Colombia) and CHO (Chile).
Open Phone INFO ★Samsung★ app > Menu > 'Firmware Browser', enter UUB into the CSC textbox and tap Go button to search, you will see that there is 4.4.2 firmware on the top of the list (N9005VJUFNG3). You can download that firmware and flash via Odin.
All things should be fine. No need to wipe anything. No data will be lost. Knox counter will be safe.

To flash cross regional fimrware you need to change you CSC code.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2491877
Also if you flash MJ3 build then your bootloader will be upgraded and you have to stay will MJ3 firmware, you cant then downgrade back to MJ1 firmware

any luck anyone? still getin ext4 error
I want to know this as well. I have Malaysian fw on my phone but I want to switch to BTU. According to what I have read this should work because my current region is XX, however I have seen way too many people getting this ext4 error for me to try it.
Can someone give a definitive answer? I am on MJ3 with a region of XX. Thanks!

How did you flash it to void warranty?
sorry to hijack
but what does BTU stand for?
and what's the two letters before MJ7?
like UBMJ7, what's UB?

CSC code for UK (no carrier) = BTU.
Revision of Android - MJ7, latest version released as of yet...
Not sure about the rest but it appears regional...
Flashed it after running through RDLV but had issues with WIFI and sd card... Flashed extracted modem from MJ6 rom, this sent me into a bootloop. Flashed stock MJ6 rom onto phone and fixed the bootloop but put new bootloaders on. At this point warranty void was 0x0. Tried Kingoapp to root hoping it wouldn't trip counter, it did...
New bootloaders are a mongrel....

Stay away from Kingo/vroot, xda has removed all links and closed the thread. It's full of malware / spyware and will send all personal details to a Chinese Web server.

just changed my firmware from xme to btu
just follow these from the s4 forum by kaushalls but use odin 3.04 and be patient it may fail for two time but will eventually will do it and run odin in normal mode not administrator mode
Make sure you take a backup via Kies if you need personal files
Download the respective stock ROMS from sammobile.com or samsung-updates.com or see thread on Stock Roms on XDA
Extract zip to get tar.md5
Put device into download mode (Vol down+ Home + Power) and Flash using Odin (PDA option)
Wait till device reboots back into Android after completing the flash and recovery
Once device reboots, do a Factory Reset via back up and reset option
Once device reboots after Factory Reset/recovery, enter the google account info and restore settings and then turn off the device
and restart (go into recovery and see the csc btu being applied if yes then stop here,do factory reset and restart)
after this the next steps are optional
Boot device back into download mode (Vol down+ Home + Power)
Re-flash the same downloaded firmware for a second time via Odin
Once the device reboots after the 2nd flash, your CSC should have changed to the CSC of the ROM you downloaded, and Kies also should show that CSC has changed and it should allow future updates via Kies or OTA
check csc by going to stock recoverry it will show manual mode at the bottom and then show btu csc applied
i am now on xxumdj6

Branded THREE UK - unbrand

Hello,
I need to ask if There is any possibility to remove branded applications, and general system
three.uk operator, so that seemed normal as the normal S4.
I bought a phone with root, so this is not necessary, but I'm not sure if it's somehow going to make
and do not know how. TouchWiz does not bother me so or if there is a original samsung rom.
Thank you very much for your answers and advice

You can Flash with the BTU version of XXUBMGA and keep a pre Knox version of 4.2.2 If you want 4.3 you can Flash with a Knox version of the BTU Rom on XXUEMJ7. If you want 4.3 pre Knox you will have to read the forums to find the best option for you. Both of these options definitely work on a 3UK i9505 Galaxy S4

You are trying to downgrade from FNG2 to END3 firmware and it is not possible.
That may brick your device
i reflash with N9005XXUFNG2_N9005ATOFNG1_N9005XXUFNG2_HOME.tar.md5 then sound back to work, also during flashing system there was no "invalid ..."
after this i made update via phone menu (intenet+wifi) to latest N9005XXUGNG1_N9005ATOGNG1_N9005XXUGNG1_HOME.tar.md5 but knox 0x1 stayed
then i made root:
flash odin >> KERNEL_N9005XXUEND3.tar.md5 (got custom status) << then use towelroot than flash back to KERNEL_N9005XXUGNG1.tar.md5 and status changed to official .... but knox 0x1 still there...
hi again.
now there is android 5.0. Of course i got info and tried to update phone via wifi but after it download firmware (over 810mb) during recovery flash it end at 29% with ERROR message than suggest to use KIES so can i now use POLAND XEO firmware:

[Q] Update Problem (Still 4.3)

Hello
Since the release of kitkat I haven't been able to able update my device and I still have 4.3 version of android on my Note 3 SM-N9005.
Whenever I check for updates it says I have the latest and with kies it says the same thing or says SM-N9005 won't initialize. I heard that I can update manually with odin but I had some questions and fears:
First of all will flashing with odin trigger my knox counter and make it 0x1? I have the Knox app too and working with it keeping my secret information in it.
The other and the most important problem I have is that which frimware should I download? my baseband version is XXUBMI6, and my region (which I checked it from /system/csc/sales_code.dat) is XSI. I am a bit confused with all this stuff and don't know what to do
Thanks in advance for your help please tell me what to do.

1. Flashing the correct firmware for your device via ODIN DON'T trig KNOX counter. Be relaxed.
2. One of the best method for know your CSC (code of country) is rebooting in STOCK RECOVERY and look close the text: "Applied the CSC-code: XXX" like in the pic attached.

- Flashing the stock firmware via Odin will not trip the Knox counter, nor erasing your data.
- To find and download the correct firmware for your device:
Open Phone INFO ★Samsung★ app > Menu > 'Firmware Browser'.
The latest one will be on the top of the list.

Flashing a stock firmware via Odin will not erase your apps.
I personally doesn't face with wifi and cell connection.

[Q] Unroot / go stock Lollipop (KNOX 0x0)

Hey Guys!
I am on the Polish official Lollipop Rom, rooted with Knox 0x0. Because of random reboots caused by the old bootloader I want to sell my phone. I need to unroot and install another stock rom (same version, but with the branding my phone had). I have often read "flashing original firmware does not trigger knox" and my guess is I can propably unroot with supersu, uninstall all the root apps, reactivate all the knox apps and flash the complete rom (including the much needed bootloader of course) and be on the save site.
Since I have lived with Knox for 1 year now (and thats enough for a lifetime), coming all the way from DeLaVega, I just want to be sure I do not trigger it afterall. So please tell me, is it safe or could the old bootloader be problem when flashing with odin for example?
Current:
Bootloader: N9005XXUENA6
CSC: N9005XEOGBOA4
PDA: N9005XXUGBOA5
Kernel: 3.4.0-3643614
The one I need to flash:
PDA: N9005XXUGBOA5
CSC: N9005VFGGBOA2
Thank you so much for any help!
