Did you check to make sure the MD5 hash matched after downloading the update.zip? (To make sure the file was not corrupted)
I saw someone mention this problem earlier but searched for it and can't seem to fnd the particular thread. Copied the file to my phone, renamed it update.zip, etc.
Ran it to update from SD Card, and it gives me an error: " Assert failed, apply_patch_check("/system/bin/playlogo") Then a huge random string of numbers.
I'm running stock rom but with noobs one click root...any suggestions?
Under it also says: E: Error in /sdcard/update.zip (status 7)

Hi,
I'm noob and english isn't my native language so sorry for the mistakes or others.
I've a problem with the update 4.2.2.
I have to erase the data of "Google services framework" and close it.
Then I download the update and I have to reboot the n4 for installing the update.
I do this and after the reboot I have this message in TWRP custom recovery:
Updating partition details...
E: Invalid command argument
Installing zip file /cache/de8b8d101614.signed-occam-JDQ39-from-JOP40D
Installing /cache/de8b8d101614.signed-occam-JDQ39-from-JOP40D.de8b8d10.

E:Error in /cache/de8b8d101614.signed-occam-JDQ39-from-JOP40D.de8b8d10.z
(status 7)
E:Error installing zip file '/cache/de8b8d101614.signed-occam-JDQ39-from
Can you say me how fix this problem.
I would like to have all stock but just rooted.
Thanks a lot & sorry for my bad english.
Replace the EmailGoogle.apk that's missing
The message is telling you that it can't find the Gmail app, likely because you deleted it. Put it back (reinstall) and try again.

[INFO] Nexus OTA Helpdesk.

I didn't uninstall Gmail (i use it) but another app named Email.
I can't find it on the playstore.
Thans for answers
I think they're referring to the GAPPS package that includes all the Google apps
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
Your phone has to be stock for the OTA update to work.
Stock recovery, kernel, etc. Your phone can be rooted, but you can't have any modified (including removed) system files.
You could just download the factory image yourself and flash the parts separately.
or you can just flash any of the stock/rooted roms available here on xda
I have the following error when I'm sideloading the latest update:
assert failed: apply_patch_check("/system/app/ChatONV_J.apk". "d519fd05ad1b027f5908dff49bd9550e53ba176c". "ad82abd184e9ca1f020f839a15ab80f7fcf836d")
E:Error in /tmp/update.zip
(Status 7)
I was missing the ChatONV_J.apk file in the /system/app folder. So I extracted it from the MF3 ODIN file and added it back in and made sure it had the same permissions as the rest of the apps. I'm still getting the above error.
Any help would be appreciated!
