how to flash this rom
i'm on 4.4.2 kitkat official firmware so do I have to downgrade it to thiland based 4.3 firmware and flash it via cwm recovery or I can straight away install cwm in my 4.4.2 rom and flash this rom ...so how do I flash it i'm in a dilemma

I never flashed it over 4.4.2
But I doubt it will bootloop most probably.
Downgrad to g4 thailand 4.3 build and then try.
I prefer that because its absolutly safe ??

let's give it a try
i'll give it try though... if it doesn't work then i'll downgrade it to JB ...maybe it might work

You won't be able to flash E2 ROM (jellybean) via Odin after downgrading from KK.. The only Odin flashable jellybean ROM is G4 Thailand stock jb ROM..
Balliboxer the dev made Odin flashable custom ROM on base e2.
Which we cud not flash via Odin after downgrading.
ie Odin fails to flash.
Then I made a recovery flashable zip out of balliboxer's e2 custom ROM.
Hope you got my point.

Ok I got it now... It is definitely an appreciable part of work from your side... One thing more I would ask I am on one of the older builds of indian jellybean firmware... i.e NB3 and i haven't updated ever since... Now i want to upgrade it to last build released by samsung e2...N i thought this rom was a good option... Now coming to the point... Could you please tell me is dere any difference of flashing the odin flashable file and your recovery flashable zip... Coz i found is just easy to flash than flashing via odin... I am just a lazy one...

Flashing another ROM

Just got my GT-N7000 , and my fingers are already itching to flash another STOCK ROM . Is it safe to assume that ALL the GT-N7000 have the same hardware specs ?
Mine came with UBKK2 firmware/Kernel , that is not listed among the custom kernels of CF-Root; this is why I want to flash another stock ROM (not yet interested in any custom ROM) . I am thinking of flashing the latest pre-ICS firmware . Any suggestion on a firmware version ? Should I pay attention to the baseband version included in the ROM ?
Also, since Kies does NOT show me any available updates I guess ODIN is my only option ( not yet been rooted ) . Will ODIN increase the flash counter even if I flash a stock ROM ?
Thanks in advance,

All GT N7000s are the same. Flash yourself some ICS.
Edit: Flash the latest German GB ROM if you don't want ICS.

Nope, flashing with Odin doesn't increase flash counter if you flash STOCK roms
Read this thread (post #2) for instructions
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
Edit:
btw, my suggestion is same as the above: flash new ICS rom, you have link to tutorial in the post above (post #1, next to ICS rom)
If you want newest GB rom with root, I think you have to flash older stock rom first, root it, and then flash newest GB rom using Mobile Odin + everroot ...
well since I am not rooted yet, I would need to flash and older firmware that will allow me to install CF ROOT AND CWM.

U can go to sammobile.com and download the firmware u are looking for and flash using Odin 3.07
If u already flashed omega 7 u myte wanna go to the latest available omega ofcourse it's more optimized and bloatware free Rom rather then using stock firmware
Well it's my opinion you can decide urs

S4 stock rom and kernel

Hello there fellow XDA members, I have a problem with my S4. I installed the German version of 4.3, but I'm from Serbia which means different build numbers, and I haven't got any updates since(In updates i mean those small updates the size of 20mb like and so). So now I found my firmware for my country, but I also found a kernel for it, as a .tar file. My question now is, I know how to flash a rom via ODIN, but how do I flash a stock kernel, and should I do it before flashing the rom or after?

Thank you for the advice, I was just confused why would the rom and kernel be separated
Stock kernel is included in stock rom Odin flashable, so you shouldn't need to flash a kernel separately. If you want to though, PDA section of Odin same as a rom package.

How do I flash themes onto a stock Note 3?

Hello XDA, I am new to Android "modding". I've been a long time Apple user and stopped since the iPhone 4S launched. Ever since then I've only had Android phones and loved them however I never had the time to actually "mod" the phones. I used to always Jailbreak my iPhones/Unlock, etc. However, now I want to start theming my Note 3. Specifically I want to apply the Samsung Galaxy S5 theme which are posted in the theme section of the Note 3. The problem is that when I download the .apk and install it, nothing happens. I assume my phone has to be rooted or something? Anyways, if you guys can walk me through this I'd really appreciate it!

Yes KitKat is rootable on SM-N9005. Please keep in mind, it will trigger your knox 0x1. All useful thread would be at note 3 general thread. I only know an easy way for me to get deodexed firmware because i cant find any deodexed stock note 3 prerooted firmware. Use custom roms as custom roms offer deodexed firmware and rooted. So you have to use any custom rom of your choice located at note 3 android development thread.
First, before you do this, you might want to root your devices go to this thread >>http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2466423
Second, after you rooted your devices dont worry for the warning at your bootloader.
Third, Flash ClockWorkMod i prefer this >>http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2567283
Fourth, Download Custom Roms. Make sure to read their changelog and instruction on how to flash >> http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3/development
Fifth, Flash Custom Rom on CWM
Sixth, Configure your rom
Seventh, Install the theme.

A few questions:
1) I've still old 4.1.2 bootloader . Have I to update it necessarily to mj5?
2) I've 5.15 philz recovery. . Is it ok?
3) Full wipe before?
Thank you ?
P.S. Obviously I'm on your 4.3 rom ?

The simple answer is--if you want to avoid any unnecessary problems--upgrade the Bootloader to MJ5--don't go to a more recent version if you think that you might ever want to downgrade to a 4.1.2 ROM. Personally, I think that this is unlikely since 4.3 is a better option than 4.1.2, and it follows that 4.4.2 is an improvement on 4.3.
I am still on MJ5 but mainly due to issues with KNOX in later Bootloaders.
One day I will upgrade--but maybe, by then, some amazing Dev will have figured out a work around for Samsung's dumb KNOX.
If you are moving up from 4.3 to 4.4.2 then Philz 5.15.0 is not suitable--you should upgrade Philz to 6.19.3, or 6.25.0 [ or even 6.15.4]--some ROMs require unticking the option to Update the Binary in Philz--therefore a lot of folks prefer to go with a recent edition of TWRP. 2.6.3.2, or 2.7.0.0

My query is something similar:
I have been facing a peculiar issue of not being able to restore my backups in recovery (tried with backups in internal as well as external sd). Right now, am using stock pre-rooted MKD by dr. Ketan topped up with mod project V3.5 by tamirda and dr.Ketan. The recovery is Philz Touch 5 CWM base Version: v6.0.3.7, Build version: 5.15.0-n710x-i317M-T889.
Not being able to restore creates innumerable problems and have to begin flashing a rom from scratch. Today, I realised that my bootloader is DMG1 (attaching a screenshot). Does this has anything to do with my problem? And further, since am going to flash pre-rooted kitkat, should I change my bootloader, and if yes, to which version?
I originally posed this query to dr. ketan but since he is busy with the kitkat rom for all of us, any help from anyone would be heartily appreciated.
regards,
Durgesh

Most of what I wrote above applies to your case--upgrade Bootloader using ODIN and Bootloader Tar file, don't use Philz 5.15.0, but one of the later versions.
As I say--the more recent Bootloaders are fine, in fact desirable, if you are not worried about Samsung Warranty issues--if your phone is out of Warranty--because they will trip the counter in Download Mode--the only suitable Bootloader that does not trip the counter is MJ5--and this works fine with KitKat.
On an older Bootloader some folks have no problems--but others have all sorts of issues--yours could be an example of this.
I can't guarantee that your backup issue will get fixed but certainly making a good Nandroid with a suitable version of Philz or TWRP gives a greater chance of a satisfactory Restore.
