Hello,
i have an Samsung Note 3 N9005 CSC: SER (Russia) stuck on android 4.3. When i check the OTA update on the phone or if i connect to KIES 3 i got the message that i already have the latest software. Regarding to
Code:
sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-N9005/SER/
there are 5 updates.
What can be the problem and what can i do to get the latest updates ? I want to avoid using ODIN for now.

You will have to use ODIN finally and flash the latest firmware for your device. Use ODIN don't void the warranty or active KNOX.

Are you in Russia, or in another region? And are you sure your CSC is SER?
Check the latest firmware for your device using Phone INFO ★Samsung★ app > Menu > 'Firmware Browser'.
BTW, FYI, flashing via Odin will NOT erase user data on the device.

Hi everyone
I wanted to ask you a question.
In short: Are Kies and OTA are connected? I mean if Kies reports it doesn't support my firmware so I won't get OTAs too?
Detailed: I flashed two weeks ago the German stock rom DBT for I9505 (MJ5).
The reason I did that is because I couldn't get updates via Kies with the last firmware, I had:
PDA: ME2, PHONE: ME2, CSC: MDB(BTU)
I understood ME2 stands for Nordic countries and the product code (BTU) is for England so I couldn't get updates through Kies.
I flashed the German stock rom via Odin and all went OK but afterwards when I connected the device to Kies I still had BTU in CSC:
PDA: MJ5, PHONE: MJ5, CSC: MJ5(BTU)
My question is why is it like that? Wasn't the CSC supposed to change to DBT?
And so the main question: Will this interfere me to get OTA updates from Germany when they will be out? Because Kies still keeps saying that it doesn't support my firmware.
Thanks in advance

I mean, when I updated to JB4.3 from 4.2.2 and rooted my phone, The knox counter incresed to 0x1; this was the reason I allways have thought OTA and kies updates notifications will never work again.
Anyway, In my case I can no more update by OTA or kies because I rooted the phone in 4.3 (or better, because of the knox counter increasing), but for buckups and so on I can use it normally, except I had to download kies version 3, the only kies version compatible with S4 JB 4.3, maybe you still have kies version 2.

If you wanna update your phone to the latest firmware then download and flash this file I9505XXUENA4_I9505YXXENA5_BTU.zip and the tutorial from here or here Goodluck Flashing , and Have a nice day.
Hi. Just a bit confused about my CSC. Currently my phone is on AP: I9505XXUEMKF with CSC: I9505BTUEMK5. As far as I was aware, this is an unbranded CSC for the UK and Ireland? (I am in Ireland). Now my phone was locked to a network but I got it unlocked and the CSC is now this. According to Sammobile, the latest firmware for BTU is I9505XXUENAA but when I connect my phone to kies, it says i have the latest update? Am I missing something big here?

1. The CSC appears close to ur firmware in Kies 3. Like in the 1st pic the CSC is XEU.
2. I9505XXUENAA no is an official update recognized by Kies how u can see in the 2nd pic. Kies 3 recognize that u have the latest update installed. If you want update ur phone by Kies you will have to wait new official update or u will have to use ODIN for install I9505XXUENAA otherways (SamMobile).
I tried that csc the other night, and it loads the Austria/Switzerland stuff on my phone by default......very useful here in the uk.
There is option to select uk/btu but it resets the phone, so Im not spending 3 hours setting up my phone.
Oh, and the mobile data speed seems so crap on that modem compared to mk9....
Thanks for your reply. Do you know whether unbranded phones get updates before branded??

Yes normally.
- Branded phones have to have custom firmware (coz they install their own apps/mods/rebuilts)
- Unbranded handsets can apply new firmware as soon as Samsung releases it (without changes).
Hello,
I have a Galaxy S4 with adroid 4.3 and CSC from NEE (Nordic Countries) but I'm living in Spain. I'm wondering if I'm going to get updates via OTA or Kies to 4.4.2. If I try to search for updates in Kies or OTA it says that I have the lastest firmware uptade.
Thanks you!

Problem is that you have wrong baseband for that OTA/KIES tell you have the latest updates.
Steps to follow:
1. Dont use Kies.
2. Use Kies 3 for know ur CSC. In your case its NEE (if its correct).
3. Go HERE for download the latest firmware for ur phone.
4. Flash it through ODIN.
5. When u finish the process of flashing and your system start again, dial *#1234# and have to appear this:
AP: I9505XXUFNB9
CP: I9505XXUFNB9
CSC: I9505NEEFNB2
6. Reflash the firmware if you dont have what appears in the step 5.
7. You will receive the OTA updates now. Good luck :highfive:
Ok thanks you very much!
Hello
Since the release of kitkat I haven't been able to able update my device and I still have 4.3 version of android on my Note 3 SM-N9005.
Whenever I check for updates it says I have the latest and with kies it says the same thing or says SM-N9005 won't initialize. I heard that I can update manually with odin but I had some questions and fears:
First of all will flashing with odin trigger my knox counter and make it 0x1? I have the Knox app too and working with it keeping my secret information in it.
The other and the most important problem I have is that which frimware should I download? my baseband version is XXUBMI6, and my region (which I checked it from /system/csc/sales_code.dat) is XSI. I am a bit confused with all this stuff and don't know what to do
Thanks in advance for your help please tell me what to do.

1. Flashing the correct firmware for your device via ODIN DON'T trig KNOX counter. Be relaxed.
2. One of the best method for know your CSC (code of country) is rebooting in STOCK RECOVERY and look close the text: "Applied the CSC-code: XXX" like in the pic attached.

- Flashing the stock firmware via Odin will not trip the Knox counter, nor erasing your data.
- To find and download the correct firmware for your device:
Open Phone INFO ★Samsung★ app > Menu > 'Firmware Browser'.
The latest one will be on the top of the list.

Flashing a stock firmware via Odin will not erase your apps.
I personally doesn't face with wifi and cell connection.
