Hey guys.
I've been searching around a bit looking for a solution to get the Playstation app and remote play app working on unlocked bootloader, but I haven't found anything.
Is it even possible?

Not possible. Once you unlock the bootloader you lose your DRM keys, remote play wont work and play station app will no longer work. You will just keep getting error messages. But if you backed up your DRM keys before you unlocked bootloader, you can relock it, then restore the keys to gain access to those features again. If you did NOT back up your sony keys that are unique to ONLY your phone you are SOL. I unlocked my phone, lost my keys and was basically stuck with a phone that couldnt do nothing i actually purchased it for. So i gave it to my wife and bought another one...
I read remote play was ported to every android 4.0+ but i couldnt figure out how to run it on my unlocked bootloader xperia z2. It is a shame how sony punishes us, at leas i could fix the camera, but i miss miracast and remote play
Its not exactly punishing
Protection of their creations but yes its anpoying
There is a DRM FIX in the cross dev section that aparently works

But it didn't work for you right? I read that, and I the entire thread only worked for 2 or 3 people with a Z2.
Someone put a instructions that he followed to get the patch work.

I find debuggin mode. Turned on, but nothin happened with z4root...
I had no success with both z4root and superoneclick (both exploits). My guess is that the exploits are fixed in this version of Android.
Gingerbread can be the problem with this apps.
We have to wait a little bit more.
Where are all the developers? I mean sony even said it will unlock the bootloader shouldn't we be seeing more development action. Didn't geohot say he was going to be the first to root the play?

I really really hope so. This device will be 'made or broken' by the community
whats the whole point of rooting as it is aside from stopping some of the pre-installed stuff?
At the moment, that's pretty much the whole point - just to kick some of the pre-installed junk off the device. Altho in time, it could also lead to some other things, like extended menus, options, themes and the like.
However, these things might or might not require an unlocked bootloader to function as well.
With the boot loader unlocked however, you can basically replace the whole System. Even going so far as to install a completely new System like Cyanogenmod, Meego, MIUI and so on.
i guess getting rid of timescape would be useful. any news on the NA version being stock android?
"Timescape" in this case is pretty much only the launcher. Everything else is very much stock. So I don't think we really need to get rid of it. I'd just like to kick some stuff from the internal memory to make space for other things. I for example don't need Fifa or Sims. I never play those games.
I would love to be able to stop all random **** from connecting to the internet. Also timescape and things like mediaserver and postcard i would like to get rid off. Clean install.

To get more control over your device, gain acces to hidden files, change boot anim etc (don't know the file structere of xperia play). Get adfree working so you'll get rid of the advertizing in apps and browser, screenshot apps etc. Push apk's to /system/apps with adb shell (some won't install with the native manager, but will this way (modded apk's)). Overclock without flashing (did this to begin with on my DHD before i got the bootloader unlucked and installed a recovery, so i could flash a new kernel with oc options).
Lots of reasons mate

Well how about today I found out why the "movies" section is not showing up in the market in my Xoom... Well come to find out that Google has it where no rooted device can access the movies from the market... I say a crock of ****... I'm sure many of you like me wasnt aware of this when we rooted our device... Wouldn't have mattered if I did... But all the same would have been nice to know.. I don't understand the reasoning behind this.... Anyways those of you that don't know the only way to get it back is to reinstall the stock room then relock your device. Apparently when you unlock it supposedly deletes some file that you have to re flash to get back... I heard this on the latest android central podcast in case you all wanna know. Well maybe some one soon will get us a work around for this.... What y'all think?

This was known when Movie rental via Android was first announced...big headlines all over the tech sites, hardly a secret.
As for why, it was obviously required by the movie studios due to DRM issues. They want to be sure the movies can be stored ina folder that can't be accessed directly by the user. Not surprising considering their previous stance on such matters.

Well, if you go and download the thing from SonyDevelopers website and install it, you needto login, but Sony doesn't send a confirmation email...
Anyways, I solved my problem with relocking the bootloader and then flashing the stock FW... (not a great solution, but better than waiting for 3 days for Sony to reply...)

I have not, I am actually at work and just threw this update up during lunch. I will take a look this weekend to see if there are anything new, unless of course someone beats me to it.
Cool. I can't check at the moment as the only play I have on me at moment is my locked boot one (couple unlocked ones back at home).
Can't belive no one has picked up on this as those beta's (belived to be betas as same firmware numbered/letter as first) ICS versions certified around December could (Small chance) be in Emma public as that's how the Xperia T got its Alpha JB from Sony.

I downloaded installed and the flashtool, only to learn you have to register to use it. I have registered but now have now have to wait for a confirmation email then I can use it. I will give it a spin soon as I get the email and when I can. It would be interesting if Sony's flashtool had the beta firmwares from Dec... but I really dont want to open that can of worms unless it actually works.
You don't have to register to use Emma. Actually, you shouldn't use that thing...
You have to copy some files into the instalation folder and then it'll work.
If you wait for that email, forget about it. It will never arrive.
See the 'official' tutorial on how to install.
I once had the same problem, waiting for over a month for that email...
Hope that helps

1) You only need to register for internal Sony full Emma (flash prototypes, dev, and locked retail devices for Sony personal only so won't ever get confirmation.
2) Did you unlock via test point? If so that is why it's saying your locked as you still have all the drm's most likely
Not home for a few days but will see what's on there with my official unlocked R800i's

Okay, I should start off by saying I have put hours into researching this myself. I've found things that are similar to my problem, but nothing that I feel truly accomplishes what I'm trying to do.
Here's my situation.
I just recently purchased a Nexus 7. It is currently running Android version 4.2.2
I am new to android, have done jailbreaking and stuff with iPhone, have no experience when it comes to android.
Here's my issue.
I essentially bought this device for one reason - its ability to run emulators at full speed.
Obviously, touch screen controls do not cut it. So logically, I wanted to use my Wiimote to connect and use as a controller on the device. However, as I'm sure it has been well documented, the new android update has disabled the function.
Without a controller, I can't play emulators. Without being able to play emulators, I essentially have a $250 paper weight.
I've heard of there being a possibility of downgrading my Nexus 7 back to a version that would be compatible with wiimotes.
Every tutorial I've looked at seems daunting and confusing. I've tried doing them, but run into problems where there is a step that was supposed to be done prior to doing the tutorial and I have no idea where it's coming from or what to do.
Essentially that is where I stand. I need to be able to use my wiimote on my Nexus device. I'm begging somebody to guide me, show me the way to downgrade my Nexus device that will walk me through from steps A-Z.
As I said, I have honestly put a lot of time and effort into researching and attempting to fix this problem myself. Unfortunately, I just haven't found, or rather lack the knowledge to find exactly what I'm looking for.
I would be incredibly appreciative of any help I can get. If you need any more information from me about the situation, ask and I shall supply you with what you need.
Thanks in advance guys and gals.

I can help firstly I would like to tell you that there is a far easier option that downgrading which is using a wireless ps3 controller. Fully compatible with 4.2.2 but if you would like to downgrade you must first:
Get a working adb/fastboot folder.
Unlock your bootloader via fastboot. (Warning: this will factory reset your tablet so back up everything you can)
Then flash a stock google 4.1.2 image.
Or alternatively you could :
Unlock your bootloader via fastboot.
Flash a custom recovery.
Flash a custom 4.1.2 rom from the development threads.
All 3 will give the desired effect just bump this thread with what option you want and I will guide you all the way

The wireless ps3 controllers (official) work with sixaxis controller and can map up to 4 at once, n64oid should be able to map them all as input devices you shouldn't need an adapter as far as I am aware. There is a sixaxis testing app on the market, give it a try and see how you get on should all be sweet though.

Am I the only one thinking that Sony being handled as "the most developer community friendly company" is a bit of nonsense?
Look at what problems the official bootloader unlock poses with Sony and all the uncertainty what's still working after and what not.
With HTC you don't have these problems the only thing there is that a few easily reinstallable apps get deleted but nothing like camera not working or not so good anymore, lost DRM keys, lost other features, not the mention the complete wipe of nearly everything when unlocking the bootloader with Sony even with Samsung this whole process is easier as far as I know.
I can understand why the DRM keys are deleted even though it wouldn't be necessary as they are bound to the exact phone so piracy isn't really possible but with the previous Xperias where even the camera stopped working until Android 4.3 and other features were rendered unusable I'm having a hard time to believe this is "the most developer community friendly company".
They should be named as the most GPL compliant company as far as I read.
Or am I missing some important points completely?
You're kinda right, although you should notice that Sony is improving every year.
You loose nothing, just music unlimitted and video unlimitted, which i believe sony has right to. And your example of htc isnt valid, as bootloader unlock is basically same stuff factory reset is also made.
Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk 2
You're greatly exaggerating the camera issues... The camera has always worked after unlocking except for a short time with the Z1. This wasn't intentional and Sony fixed it.
Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk
Video unlimited and maybe even music unlimited isn't even working here in Austria so... But no other manufacturer wipes your SD-card content too isn't it so?
I've read about losing mobile Bravia engine, x-reality, song info download, ..... at least with z1
Nope everything seems to be working. And no, it doesnt wipe sd card, that would be nonsense. You could just remove card and insert it later after unlocking dont you think?
Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk 2
This from their bootloader unlock page:
For Xperia™ devices released 2013 or later (for example Xperia™ Z and Xperia™ ZL), the SD card of your device will be formatted and you will lose all content (for example photos, music, videos) when you unlock the boot loader.
Maybe they mean internal storage/SD-card but then they should declare it better
Those are the drawbacks of unlocking it. They are dev friendly because all of their devices (except ones sold in carriers, but they don't have control over it) have unlockable bootloaders, and they provide all the tools, with tutorials and such to do it. They also offer great tools and files to help other devs do their work.
