NO.1 G2 Smartwatch [REVIEW & UNBOXING] Sapphire Glass, Waterproof - Samsung Galaxy Gear Clone?
Make calls, see text messages, synchronization time weather, photo camera, call logs, contacts. Independent music player, heart rate sensor, pedometer exercise can also connect a bluetooth headset to listen to independent music inside the watch, etc.
Specifications:
- MT2502A
- Sapphire Glass - better than Corning Gorilla Glass
- Bluetooth 4.0, connects to iOS and Android
- Waterproof IP67
- 1.54-inch TFT screen 240x240

- Battery 350 mAH

- Whatsapp messages can be shown/received on the watch, but ONLY if they are pure text, if they contain a smiley or other graphics it will not be shown.
About the heart rate monitor - the results seems to be a little doubtful IMO. So I don't know if it is real or fake. Or maybe just not so accurate.
Cons:
- Does NOT run a full android OS. But the price is also very low!
- Camera is very low-res but it works
- It does NOT have an TV IR remote control.
- The Hear Rate is very doubtful, if it is real or just fake, many different results.
- It support vibration just like a phone
- MP3 music can not be stored on the watch, it can only play them of the phone via BT

Thanks for the review! I have to admit that No. 1 are not the Chinese company I would normally turn towards for reliable hardware...
Two questions:
1. Could you provide camera samples?
2. Is it possible to make one's own watchfaces for this device?

It connects over Bluetooth 4.0, but it can also show the time without a connection. Or what do you exactly mean?

1. Camera is VERY low-res. Only for fun pictures!
Here some samples

2. No, but you can install more Watchfaces on it. But only via the APK. From the benning there is 1 extra digital clock in the APK that is not on the watch from the beginning. But if you can make your own? no not so far, maybe someone in the future can hack something, or hopefully NO.1 will release more watch faces for it later, because the possibility to install more on the watch is there.
what i mean is, does it have to be connected using phone or media audio for notifications to work?
menu's and screen look very similar to the original u8 watch and that one will lose connection if you disable both phone and media audio on your phone

Yes because it does not have any SIM card itself, and music is played of the phone via BT, notifications also comes from the apps on the phone. So for notifications and audio it must be connected.
that's not what i mean
the u8 doesn't have a sim card either
it connects through bluetooth with the phone
but because it has a microphone and speaker, it also acts as a headset
for the u8, you can not switch off both phone audio (going to the watch) AND media audio (like youtube)(going to the watch), because it will disconnect completely and not show notifications
is that the same for this watch?

As soon you connect a sound device (the watch) to BT on the phone, the sound will always go out to that device. If you switch off the audio to the connected BT device, the connection will be broken and nothing will be shown anymore, also not notifications - there is nothing like "only turn off audio". I don't see how that should work in another way?
If you don't want the watch to ring or disturb then just set it to silent ringing or vibrate only. And you can still get the notifications, because it is then still connected. But if you break the connection to the phone, nothing can be transferred to the watch, also not notifications.

I have tested it a little more now. So it is possible on my phone to go to the BT connection for the G2, and in there in profiles disable the Phone audio, but I need to keep Media Audio and Message Access enabled still, then I can still get notifications on the watch, but sound in calls will come though the normal phone speaker. If I disable both Phone audio and Media Audio it stops the connection completely. So only Phone audio can be disabled if notifications still have to work.
ok, so it's a u8 clone with camera?
and still no decent phone app
i guess Sony spoiled us with the SW2 software

I don't know the U8, I don't see the G2 as a clone of that one. And the phone app is pretty decent compared to many others. But can't be compared to the real brands software like Sony, LG and Samsung that also costs triple the price of this one here.
IOS?
Once again one of these Chinese companies claim that this watch is compatible with IOS...Really? I would love to see that and I would definitely buy one. And when I say "compatible" I don't just mean send and receive calls - all smart watches can connect to an Iphone as a hands free device and send receive calls. I mean full Compatibility > Text messages, notifications, email, etc....

No not all smartwatches works with an iPhone. I also have the MI-W3 smartwatch bluetooth, for some time ago a friend tried to connect to it with his iPhone, nothing worked, not even calls worked.
It depends on the app (according to what I read on the net, ios users should install an app called Light Blue, but I don't know the features of that app) if all the features should work with the watch. IF I somehow, and some day can get my hands on an iPhone and can test it, I will update it here on this page.
The Light Blue app in the app store doesn't actually say what it is for. Says nothing about the watch at all. People who use that app say that they found their FitBit with it....? "Light Blue can test all of your devices that use Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy" - and that is what they say the app is for in the app store.

As the title says ... I ask how to start the car kit mode?
I did search for about two days and didnt get an answer, neither here or anywhere else in the world wide web.
For those of you how dont understand the difference between the car kit mode and the NaviPanel.exe ... please dont post a hyperlink to one of the countless navipanel threads. I already know the hardware suggestion by Bob but I am more interested in a software solution!
I use a parrot hands free set in my car and want to use the automatic bluetooth connection function which get started by car kit mode.
So please, If anyone knows, post a solution for it.
From my experience it's all down to how the bluetooth device anounces itself.
If it's sending out that it's a headset then your phone will connect as though it's a headset.
Go into the Bluetooth app on your phone, expand your parrot in the list and see what services it has.
My car radio is a Sony Xplod with bluetooth, it's got Stereo Audio and Hands free, but no car kit.
However if I get into the car with BT turned on on my Leo, they connect, even if I've got the Leo set to invisible.
Up until now the handsfree has connected automatically, but the Stereo Audio needed a manual push (set radio to BT audio and press "pause" button to get it to connect to phone), but I've noticed that if I go into the properties of Hands Free or Stereo Audio, I've got the option to "Connect seperately to Bluetooth hands-free and stereo audio services" which I've now disabled so hopefully tonight when I get in the car it will connect both
So, go into your BT app on your phone, check what services it has listed under the parrot device and see if CarKit is there, if it is, hold your finger on it and go to its properties to see if you can set it as default.
Chances are the parrot only presents itself as handsfree as many older phones or low end ones can't handle the CarKit service.
I'm suprised that as they're paired the phone doesn't automatically connect when you get in range of the parrot though (when you have BT turned on)
You could just create a shortcut to NaviPanel.exe which is located in Windows, and put in as a quicklink? Works for me.

The problem is not the connection. Maybe I described my request wrong. If blue tooth is already activated, the parrot and HD2 connect immediately. The problem is the always on Bluetooth function which costs a lot of battery power.
With my former device (Diamond) I used that application which started and closed bluetooth automatically while power was on USB. But with the HD2 it wont work. I dont know why!?
If car kit mode gets activated, it activates Bluetooth by itself and closes it again. So the question is again, how could the Car Kit mode be activated?!?!?

Maleko,
go back to post 1 and read very carefully. Thanks
An alternative to the hardare fix you linked is to just use your old 12v mini usb lead you have for your diamond in conjunction with a usb mini to micro adapter - I got one a motorola one for £1 on ebay.
This tricks the HD2 into thinking you have connected the 'official' car kit
I know you are looking for a software solution but why bother when you can have a hardware one for only £1!

I am not sure, that I got you right? The Diamond never had such thing like Car-Kit-Mode. So the Power cables I used were the original Mini-USB cables from HTC with the 230 Volt Charger and I used an ordinary active Bordit Mobile holder with only PIN 1 and PIN 5.
Which adapter do you mean? I am not sure, that this can work?

Ok that makes sense
My bluetooth being always on doesn't drain the battery that much faster so it's not been a problem for me.
Until someone comes up with an updated version of bluepower (looks like a good app too!) or an alternative, how about installing SPB shell 3.5?
It's got a handy button on the home screen for controlling the on/off for phone, bluetooth, wifi and airplane mode.
The trial is free for 15 days so you've got nothing to lose by trying it.
PS I've got a 12v charger for my HD2 and all it does is charge, it doesn't put the phone into carkit mode.

That is awesome!
The car USB socket charger which came with a cheap but decent cradle from ebay is a 1A charger, which I need to take apart as the end contact needs soldering back to the board inside.
I wonder if it would be easier to solder the 10K resistor to the socket rather than trying to break open the USB lead.

The problem is, that most of the car charger dont have all five pins conneced to wires in the cabel The active Brodit car holder for the Diamond for example only had a blck and red wire connected to the Mini USB port

Fantastic use of that image
I took apart my charging socket last night, and there's plenty of gubbins inside (to do with the 12v-5v conversion), but I didn't have my camera handy to take photos, or time to check which pins are bridged.
All pins are present and soldered to the board, but it could be that the wrong two are bridged, ie the two which tell the phone to accept the higher current, rather than the two which tell the phone to accept the higher current and think the car kit is connected.
I'll probably have to remove the actual USB socket from the board and re-connect it to get the right pins bridged.
Of course this presumes that the charger isn't already soldered properly as I've yet to just try it due to the end contact coming unsoldered when I got it.

So funny
Does no one knows how to start the car kit mode?
Is there really no one out there who knows how to start the car kit mode? No Hacker, Programmer oder ROM cook? I cant believe that?
Please help me with my request!!!
Here comes the solution! Thanks to Cactus for his tool!
I use Phoneweaver to do this. It detects when the power is connected without Activesysnc operating and switches bluetooth on. This is set as car mode. You can also alter other settings in this profile to change the way the phone behaves. I use this with a Parrot CK3100 and it works beautifully.

I also used Phone Weaver up to Cactus solution. It is very helpfull if you dont prefer landscape mode in car. With the activation of Car-Kit-Mode the phone gets in landscape and will be there since you deactivate Car-Kit-Mode

Hello friends.
The idea of this thread is to create a list of gadgets that one way or another are compatible with our toddler and things you can do because of this compatibility.
I do not mean phone accessories, but devices such as TVs, handsfree, audio equipment, etc..
The aim is not only that we know what we can do with them at home, but this list will serve also for those who plan to buy a pileup for your home, and help them where possible to choose one model or another junk XD
You can bring your experience and as my time permits I will add it to the first post.
Please, put all you can do with the S3. For example, hands free, some let you play music from mobile, some not. Or the TV, if you do Wifi or cable.
Thanks :good:

Alpine ICS-X8 App Link Station which uses MirrorLink technology with the Galaxy S3 is one to add.
Video here is quite old but is only one I can find which shows a Samsung phone rather than a Nokia. They mention the GS3 mirrorlink support is there when the phone is released.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WQdEnXssqr0
Demo with Nokia :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HnGPKPmTrZw
MirrorLink allows you to mirror your phones screen on the 7" Alpine dashboard unit in your car and control it via the touch screen and letting you run Sat Nav software for example from your phone. Audio is transmitted over car speakers and the GPS passthrough antenna from Alpine is used by the phone.
Just bought one of these, just need the GS3 now but waiting on 64GB model

I was hoping to get a decent thread started for this radio as it is a great device and could use some added support from dev's.
Couple questions to kick it off if anyone is reading:
Do you guys just tether your phone to connect to the internet or is there some other way? I currently have t mobile and tethering does work but would love to automate it. There is an app called autotether but it uses Bluetooth and although this radio has Bluetooth there is no option for it in settings so I cannot seem to pair it. Would be awesome to auto tether when you get in your car though. Also, does anyone use the SD card? I bought a 32gb on amazon and formatted it to NTFS but every-time I out it in it says its in the wrong format. So I let the radio format it and hooked it and verified it is still NTFS but it will not play my media. I just tried an mkv file but no luck at all. Anyone know if the radio supports 32gb? Lastly when I use Pandora and turn the radio on and off it comes up saying no video signal. I am pretty sure this is because lack of internet but does this work for others?
Thanks for any help!
Hope we can start getting some people interested. I'm sure other owners of this device have questions as well.
If you format the card with FAT32 you should be good to go. I have a no-name 32GB that works just fine.

Hey, Gerry from YouTube here. Thanks for starting this thread. I hope this unit and units like it get some love in the future. I'd be thrilled to see some version of CyanogenMod on this thing.
Here's my video review if anyone is interested.
Ouku 6.2" Android Head Unit review
Does it have ROOT???
I just asked Gerald from the Youtube review, is this device rooted? I saw some devices on eBay that run ICS and I was wondering Ouku made their products unlocked and rooted. Thanks.

And will GingerBreak work on this?
this is beyond awesome to see something in the works...at any rate just got my unit from ebay and its great just a couple questions and things to bounce off anyone that can help...
I saw that it can support Digital and Analog Tv? Im sure im just gonna realize that i ended up with the wrong one (analog one) but its worth a shot to see if it can.
I noticed I can redirect the Navi button, can we do the same for Radio ? and can I get the next and previous tracks to be more of a "global" next vs just a radio or cd?
Not that it matters but is there no "Location Settings" in the menu. I ran Google maps for the first time where it asks you to turn on Wifi Location services but i quickly hit cancel thinking i could do it later only to find out that it wasnt in the menu.
Hope this isnt too many questions, and just so i can give back to the community a tad bit...i noticed somebody on youtube was saying how he didnt have internet. I noticed that I had to set the time before i was able to access playstore, or even play pandora. Anyway hope we can fix some of these minor fixes to in my opinion one of the best head units in this pricerange to date.

From the Gingerbread manual:
"Enable location services
You must have location services turned on to view your location in Maps and to use
your location to find local resources.
1 Press Home , press Menu , and touch Settings > Location & security.
2 Check the My Location options that you want to use.
Check Use wireless networks to allow the phone to determine your
approximate location by using Wi-Fi and mobile networks.
Check Use GPS satellites to allow your phone to determine your location to
street-level accuracy. (GPS works best when you have a clear view of the sky.)"
I hope that is helpful.

My unit does not show the telephone menu on top when it boots but it does show it on top when you receive or make a phone call.
It seems that although this is Android 2.4.1 it is a somewhat stripped version of it. For example bluetooth is not in the settings nor is this location option you are looking for. I'm not sure how you would get that option to present itself again. My only suggestions would be to try another app that requires this and see if that prompts you to enable it, look for a shortcut app in the play store that does the same thing, or restore back to factory.
I for one am super happy with this radio. It does far more than any top name brand market radio available but could be that much more awesome with ICS or a non limited version of android. Would be super cool if one of the devs got one and made it happen! I mean think about it.. Android in your car, it's awesome! No more car docks, no more where do I mount my phone! Just a huge awesome touchscreen with Google maps.. Lets do this!
Hopefully someone much more advanced than I will buy one and root it so we can make this happen. :silly:

Hey Thanks, it worked well.
Compliments of Gerry and his YouTube video review, linked are the update files for this unit. These files upgrade the units MCU version from 2.8.42 to 2.10.6-1-10-1 and System from 2.12.10 to version 2.12.32. This does not update the version of Android. Honestly I don't think anyone's knows exactly what the update does but hopefully it helps performance in some way and who doesn't want to be up to date. I am not sure where Gerry received these files and I hope he does not get mad at me for posting them here. :silly:

I have had the Cosmos for a couple of months now.
I have had the Cosmos for a couple of months now and I am quite impressed with the quality of the build of this watch. I had problems at first with the watch disconnecting from the BT on my phone but after pairing the watch to my phone through the BT settings on my phone rather than the FunDo Wear and my phone asking if I wanted to make the watch a trusted BT device I have not had any pairing, connecting or syncing issues since. I have dumped the FunDo Wear app and tried a number of BT notification apps. The BT apps that have worked all where FunDo variations. I have ran the watch with out any BT notification apps at all but just by pairing to my phone with blue tooth alone. I was able to do things like stream music to the watch, make and receive phone calls and use the dialler on the watch all without any apps. The Cosmos hardware is capable of so much more than what can be done with the current FunDo variations. I can see this watch being able to do thing such as control my nest thermostat, control my Iluv led lights or even monitor my home security DVR if either android wear would support these watches or FunDo would step up their game and program a usable and stable sync app. As for the Cosmos watch itself, it is an impressive watch both in style and quality.

Hi All,
Since yesterday I own Huami Amazfit Watch - Chinese version.
I decided to share my first impression.
Apart of the fact the watch looks very nice in this message I will talk mainly about the problems I have faced.
I hope some of those are just related with my limited knowledge not due to watch limitations:
Software I am using:
Amazfit Watch Firmware - 1.2.5a (with setprop persist.sys.language en applied)
Amazfit_china Watch 1.2.0
Mifit_china 2.2.10
Amazfit_china (Midong ) - 1.4.6.0141 - i am not really using this yet
Initially I had some syncing issue but now I can sync my training sessions to Mifit
Issues:
1. I have done one "trail running session" and this can not be synced to Mifit. Running sessions are synced OK.
2. Major issue. The GPS track is way inaccurate (around 50-100m around the exact track).
In addition the GPS need really clean view of the sky to sync.
If no way GPS accuracy be improved I am afraid this will render the watch not useful to me.
3. The hart rate sensor was giving me occasionally some out-layer points like rate 240.
Apart of this it seems to work fine. I got steady heart rate about 190 on an ascent which I think is too high but as I don't have other reference I will assume it is accurate for now. The hart rate plot seems to match the route difficulty sections.
4. In Mifit the Pace plot needs improvement. I have started the session and I started running 1 minute later. It put a very slow initial pace on this plot (30min/km) and this ruined the dynamic range of whole plot and render it to useless. I guess some issue with auto pause/start?
5. Altitude plot in Mifit is empty. I guess this information could be taken from GPS or even from GPS+google map but they don't do it.
6. Was not able to pair my Bluetooth head set to the watch. Anyone successful on this?
7. Watch tried downloading some FM songs from the WiFi. Speed to Chinese server was very small.
If I connect the watch to my PC using USB I see "Amazfit Sports Watch" drive but I can not copy anything there (Windows 10 on the PC). How it is supposed to put music on the watch?
OK let me stop with the issues list for now
In general the watch seems to be built nice and solid and if above are fixed or I find a solution I think this will become a very useful watch.
Thanks
Dimitar

Nice.
I have the USA version, and the GPS is at least as accurate, as my Polar M400's: I have tested with both watches on my wrists, and the Amazfit was dead on accurate.
Maybe the A1612 has different GPS firmware than the Chinese A1602 - I don't think the hardware is different, but there were experiences in the past with Chinese watches in Europe, and the GPS reception was kinda weak or it was inaccurate. Xiaomi wants you to buy the same watch with a different firmware, because they want to use the Chinese people as "guinea pigs", that's why there are weekly updates - they could mess up things completely, and they think the Chinese people are more forgiving.
I almost never run, but I walk a lot (like 70 km/week), and the logged heartrates and altitudes seem to be legit, never had gaps or abnormal values - maybe I'm just lucky. If you're having abnormal heartrate readings, you should tighten the strap, up to the point of almost uncomfortable.
I walk a lot in the town, between buildings, under arcades, and the GPS reception is always good, sometimes even in buildings.
As I have the USA version, the only available option for me is the Amazfit Watch app, I don't know about Mifit, but I bet it's a lot better. I can upload my training sessions to Strava, and that's sufficient for me. (And Strava can relay the sessions to Google Fit.)
Just tried to connect my JBL GO, it connected within seconds, and the connection was uninterrupted.
Maybe you have a faulty watch, but so far so good here - I like my Amazfit Pace a lot more than I liked my Polar M400, and this watch has a lot of potential with future updates.
Hi 5tormChild,
Good to know that the hardware of the watch in general is OK.
It actually should as I've read it is based on Sony CXD5600GF which is a new generation GPS SoC.
By dead on accurate you mean your track was not deviating more than 10m from the actual track, correct?
While you were tracking did you have a smart phone with you? Was it paired with the Watch?
What I want to assess is the GPS accuracy without any assistance from a smart phone as usually you don't bring your phone while running.
Anyone in Europe with the latest Chinese firmware to comment about the GPS accuracy of Amazfit Watch?
If the US firmware is better I think I can easily switch based on the work done in this forum.
Thanks.

Hello,
by "dead on accurate" I mean the route is almost perfectly matches the road on the map, and the max deviation I experienced was like 5 meters, and the total distance seems legit all the time - and I walked over 130 kilometers since I own this watch.
I don't need the notifications feature, so the bluetooth is always disabled on my phone, which means they are disconnected, but I sync the A-GPS data each day. Of course my watch is paired with my smartphone (Samsung Galaxy Note 4 - N910C), that was the first step. So my phone is always with me, but the bluetooth is always off.
I have the original 1.3.0n firmware in the original Amazfit Pace USA version, and although it lacks metric support, which is kind of annoying, but you can calculate the distance by multiplying the miles by 1.6 to get the value in kilometers, so that's not that difficult. I had one time, when 7% charge was depleted during a night's sleep, but that was after like 10 days of constant usage - maybe it's worth to restart the watch after each week.
Maybe I'm just lucky, but I'm very happy with this watch - I have a Polar M400, and it's easier to use because of the physical buttons, but the Amazfit has a better-to-look-at display, a superior battery life.
I hope in a few days we'll get a massive firmware update to keep the USA FW up to date with the Chinese FW, plus proper metric support, which is selectable, not stone carved, and I hope the new FW won't deplete the battery faster - it's very important for me. (A 10 km walk means 7% on Amazfit Pace, and over 25-30% on the Polar M400.)
Have a nice day!
Regards,
StormChild
I used the chinese firmware of the watch until yesterday and I can confirm that it is not accurate and stable at all. It has a lot GPS-signal hickups while running in Germany. The Strava export of sessions is even worse, where the service even thinks I am running through water and some parts of the runs are completely missing. I have now installed the us -version of the firmware, just to compare the GPS-signal between those firmwares. I also have the Polar M400, which has no GPS-signal problems at all for the same route.

Hi flintzen_123,
Thanks for sharing your experience.
I did a short run using the latest Chinese 1.2.6a firmware.
It happens that today I have broken my phone so I can not export the data but looking at the plot on the watch itself I think that 1.2.6a has much better GPS accuracy compared to 1.2.5a.
I have run only 1.6km so the trace on the watch even small is still pretty representative.
Tomorrow I will run in the open area about 10km so I will have more data which eventually
I will manage to export Tuesday when I hopefully repair my phone.
In this regards I am very interested to hear your results with the US version.
As the GPS is actually based on Sony chip which is doing some sensor fusion (GPS, accelerometer, giro .. etc ) I think our Chinese friends (or Sony) has messed up with the drivers, and the hardware is actually capable.
I hope
Regards
Dimitar
I will run in a couple of minutes and can share my results. On the watch itself the run seems ok, but when you look closely in the Strava, you see that a lot of sections are missing and Strava just not interpolates it while in my opinion the watch itself does.
Update: After the run I can say the american version of the firmware is way better for gps-tracking then the chinese version until 1.2.5. I have to check the new one.

Hi flintzen_123,
Good to know, that!
Yes in 1.2.5 GPS is buggy. Try 1.2.6a or better latest 1.2.6b.
I did 10km run (with 1.2.6a) in the mountain today but looking on the watch it is not easy to say something.
The total distance the watch showed is close to what my friends watch showed so it is a good sign.
I hope in two days I will manage to export this session and say more.
Cheers

I think the GPS is quite OK it is not perfect like my old Garmin GPSmap 60csx but it is way better than my Huawei P9 lite. Dont forget we are very limited in antenna size and availble power. My main issue is that it takes quite long to get a fix, even after synching the Almanac via the Amazfit app

I connected the watch to Ubuntu 16.04 and have seen the following issue:
The watch identifies to the OS as a camera so my photo application (Shotwell) lists it for importing pictures which makes no sense as the watch can't take any pictures.
My music application (Rhythmbox) does not list the watch so i can not sync my music to it. Even putting an empty file named ".is_audio_player" which marks the drive as a music device for Linux shows no success. But that's quite sure because of the photo mode.
But the watch is automatically mounted as a drive so i can simply copy and paste music to it. (sync with Rhythmbox would be more elegant though)

Excellent hardware but the software, all above the sync and data export has to get a lot more attention from Xiaomi.

If you have to say what is the average deviation from your actual route in meters? Apart of the fact it lost the satellites at one point.
Beleriand, I have a USB port on my laptop which can deliver more current.
Due to some reason the watch doesn't enumerate as storage there but if I use another USB port all is fine and I can copy songs into the watch.
Best regards
Dimitar

I think it was 1.2.4f. I had one run where the difference was almost 10% (over 2 km missing). The Strava output shows it accordingly.

Great. The strange behavoiur to connect the watch as a camera should be changed by xiaomi anyway.

Okay, i started with 1.2.5a and it looked ok. Your tracklog is unusable.

Hi Gents,
You make me confused
As per my knowledge the GPS in the following versions is:
US firmware - kind of OK, based on what other people reported
1.2.4x - Not OK, based on what other people reported
1.2.5a - Not OK, at least for me (~ 100m deviation from the exact track )
1.2.6a - As per my running session this seems much better (at least compared to 1.2.5a).
1.2.6b - As per my running session this seems much better (at least compared to 1.2.5a). Probably on par with 1.2.6a
Would you agree with this summary?
Thanks
Dimitar

Hi Beleriand,
So you say you have done some training/walking with 1.2.5a, you synced the track on a phone overlaying a map and the track looked kind of OK to you (within 10 meters let say) ?
My bad experience with 1.2.5a was in an open area, far from buildings so I think good conditions for GPS. So strange ...

As i can't get a GPX at the moment i opened the Tracks in Mi Fit app and they looked quite good on the Google Map.
Some slightly rounded sharp corners and on closer look one situation where it was a bit off ~ 20m but that was between some buildings in town.
If it had a GPX and could use it on QMapShack i could have a closer look and compare it with existing tracklogs of other devices.
But nothing like 100m off. I had that with a Garmin device several times.
1.2.5a was my last chinese firmware, GPS tracking was not good for me. Sometimes I was running around a stadium and the watch did not track it. My Polar M400 had no tracking problems at all and this is the entry model of GPS tracking sport watches.

It does not depend on the price. It either works or it doesn't. I had a 50€ phone from Doogee that had decent GPS and my 250€ Huawei sucks.
Another test with the 1.2.6b firmware. Same results for me as with the 1.2.5a. everything looks good, a few rounded corners and some drifts beneath buildings. Typical for high sensitive receivers that catch up reflections of walls.
The watch measured 7,55 km
When i do a manual measurement in QLandkarte GT the distance is 7,56 km
My Huawei P9lite measured 8,47 km
To me, reception of GPS is good and stable and the filtering is quite good, also.
I think it is equal or better to my Garmin Oregon450. Will take that with me next run for comparison.
So if there is something to complain about it's the GPS of my phone.
