Hi Guys
What way would be best to remove scratches of the metal rim? Sandpaper? Aluminium Polish?
Any advice appreciated
FKO...
I haven't got any scratches yet but if or when I do I'll use autosol with a cotton bud
I removed mine with a nail buffer. Just be careful & tape over the surrounding surfaces.

Hey! How did you that?! Just that will make the metal worse (I think)?
Thanks!

Autosol? But that (maybe) will get off because of you hold the phone daily and sometimes the phone overheats then the polish will come off easily
Just want to know what's your experience with autosol because I just sick of the scratches on my Note 4 and I want to try it.
Thanks!

Oic. Have you guy encounter rusty around the home button?
Ringke slim case will keep metal in perfect condition without adding bulk to a device.

Okay so not having a screen protector yet has already hurt me. The sides of my phone - in the tiny gap between the screen and the cradle - has already accumulated dust. Anyone have any suggestions on how to remove it?
I use a sitcky side of a sticky note. Seems to help

I did something similar on my N1 to the same effect, I used scotch tape instead, seemed to work pretty well.
Think it is zagg who sells some stuff to get it out.

Tried it. Doesn't work.
Sticky note/scotch tape, though, sounds like a great idea.

Q-tips, no seriously...
I usually just use the edge of a piece of paper. This phone is a magnet for crap in between the cracks because of the raised edges.

+1 That's what I do and it works well.
Is there button on front galaxy made from plastic or metal (rim of button)?
Nothing on the casing is made from metal. It's all plastic.

If it were painted then it might mean that, but it's not.
Pardon me for mentioning, but http://www.ponychan.net/chan/arch/src/130980902319.jpg

Don't you think it's a little bit too soon to judge whether someone is a troll or not?
My little cousin's samsung qwerty also had a plastic button, but the paint fell off.
But in this case the Galaxy S II isn't painted it's manufactered in this colour.

Possibly. I just got the impression that if we'd have said it was metal he would have had a reason why that was a bad thing too. Anyway, let's butt out and let this thread stay on topic

Correct, dont hold the phone either because the paint on the side of the phone will disappear also. Don't touch the screen either, or the clear paint will also come off. Infact dont touch the phone altogether!!!
Ok I'm curious if anybody knows if the Nexus 4 will fit in the Defender for the Galaxy Nexus . I just got my Nexus 4 in today and I want to put a full body case on it asap. I hate that we may have to wait until mid December for something similar.
uhh the buttons aren't in the same spot.. Nor is the speaker or Camera or headphone jack..
Obvious answer is obvious

I just want to know if it will fit and stay sealed. I work outdoors and I'm concerned about dust mostly.

You might be better throwing it in a MOFI pouch or some sort of felt bag TBH.
I wouldn't put it inside an Otterbox on account that the silicone will be rubbing up against the phone where it is tight, could scuff the rim pretty bad.

I have the case and it does not work with N4 (does not close).
I had to take my skinomi off my phone because it had become so discolored from my jeans. Now I'm wondering if I should get another and have to replace it down the road as well from the same issue or go without. I want to know though if other users of the white model have noticed discoloration? I'd rather end up with blue skins than a blue phone, but if going naked avoids it altogether that'd be cool. Thanks
Have had a white naked for a year+ and looks pristine. No spots, no stains, no discoloration.

The phone looks nice naked but the aluminum body is prone to dents and dings if you aren't careful with the phone. When I was looking at used ones on EBay last summer it was hard to find one without dings, dents or scratches on the body.

I'm not too worried about that since I've been using the phone with nothing but a bumper and skin since it was released and it still looks pristine other than my skin getting discolored. Though I will say the issues you mentioned is one reason I still prefer plastic to metal phones.

Plus with plastic normally you have a removable battery.
I had the graphite and it got dings from dust getting in the case. I replaced the frame with the silver one and it looks great with the black finger print reader.

Carefully and slowly. I repair phones on a regular basis so I'm used to doing stuff like that.

Yeah, just to loosen the glue, I don't remember it being too difficult. I used a hair dryer just because I wasn't at work. Also an easy way to get the glass and trim off are to use a razor blade put in at the antenna band and gently pry, must use heat!

Thanks. I was able to take off the back cover no problem. I was just nervous about messing with the NFC chip. It's too bad you can't find replacements.

Hello XDA, I have a Galaxy S7 edge and my screen got scratched badly. Is it possible to remove it? I don't wanna replace the screen :crying:
Yes you can!
Try sandpaper and rub well with toothpaste about 30 minutes.
No more scratches then.

I wouldn't suggest using sandpaper on your phone. This method works by rubbing down the surrounding glass to the depth of the scratch so it looks like normal. Do this at your own risk of scratching your phone more. Tis but a scratch
