[Q] getting files from softbricked nexus 7? - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My nexus 7 wont boot past the Google logo , i can get into the fastboot mode before i try factory reset it is there any way to get files off of it?
I tried using nexus toolkit , to do anything with fastboot i need to have it unlocked which whipes all data. To do anything with adb i need to have usb debugging enabled which i cant do.

[Q] Nexus 7 wont boot fully

I bought a nexus 7 today, rooted it no problems, but i changed the pdi settings to 160 to see if i could get the tablet ui, and now it wont boot fully, i can get into recovery and all but it wont boot past the google splash screen :/ HELP!
Here is stock build.prop for JRO03D, you can try pushing it via adb only other thing I can think of is complete reflash with the factory image
good luck
Is there a way to get the image onto the table in recovery?
Pretty sure you flash that image in fastboot

yes you use fastboot to flash the image via cmd prompt on your PC
I apologise, I've never had to use ADB or fastboot before, do you just give the file location and then it'll flash it on the tablet?
if you can get to recovery, try plugging the tablet with cable to a pc and mount the storage and move a rom over to it and flash it?
i dont have a nexus 7 yet but that would be my fix for a phone

adb push
adb is enabled in clockwork recovery. There's no way to mount the "sdcard" in recovery like you can on devices that have a physical SD card device.
I used nexus toolkit worked great!

i can't flash factory image

hy all i have nexus 7 but soft brick, just stuck in booting
i've try to flash with NRT but failed because my N7 still locked and USB debuging not checklist

thanks for good response
Don't use a toolkit. You don't need debugging enabled to use fastboot in fastboot mode

Failed Rom installation. Bootloader Locked. adb unavailable.

hello
so I wanted to get my nexus 4 to complete stock mode and failed in the process.
I followed a guide that was posted on here and
1. locked the bootloader
2. put 3 files (rom, recovery, boot animation?) into the phone and went to flash them
3. rom installation failed but I went and installed recovery and boot
now the phone is stuck at google booting screen and wont go past it. bootloader gives me dead android with triangle and I can't get into adb because it says device is offline.
can anyone tell me a way to fix this?
Unlock the bootloader and flash the factory image in fastboot

reinstall stock ROM on a soft-bricked (?) Nexus 7 2013 - recovery mode failed

I have a Nexus 7 (2013) which was recently upgraded to Lollipop 5.0.1 from KitKat 4.4.4 via OTA, and it randomly restarted and is now stuck on the Google screen. I can get to the bootloader via the hardware buttons, and it's recognized as an Android device when plugged in via USB (USB debugging and developer options were previously enabled.) However, I can't get to recovery mode to wipe the device, as it simply gets stuck on the Google screen again. Fastboot commands are nonresponsive in fastboot mode, and I assume I need to get to recovery mode to run any fastboot/ADB commands.
Note that my Nexus 7 is entirely stock and has not been rooted or altered in any way, aside from OTA updates.
I can wipe and reinstall KitKat once I get my Nexus device to function in recovery mode, but I need to get there first!

Nexus 7 2012 Hard brick after downgrade?

Hello guys! I come now to the point ..
I bought the Nexus 7 WiFi only for in-car use .. When I received it, had the CyanogenMod 12.1! so I decided to install the rom AUTODROID 1.2! I downloaded the ROM, install the .zip TWRP (latest version) and so I had a bootloop .. Restore backup done previously with TWRP! I am looking online and I see that making the dowgrade from lollipop kitkat, first I had to flash the rom original KitKat!
ADB and fastboot drain, drain the "ROM" (the right one for the Nexus 7 2012 wifi), reboot into fastboot mode and do the command .bat adb .. but something went wrong
"Fastboot.exe stopped working"
From here you have begun problems: recovery is no longer accessible, and restart I always brought to the fastboot mode! I had the bright idea to turn off the tablet ...
From here .. Black screen, fastboot mode is not available, recovery is not available, so I can not even give commands ADB .. When the connection to the tablet pc, windows gives me input connection, but during the driver installation I give me the error "Unknown Device" ..
I do not know what to do .. Can you help?
You could try using the nexus root toolkit ( wugfresh NRT ) to fix your nexus
