[Q] (Enable AWS) Canadian i337M - QPST COM Port shows No Phone - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

Trying to enable AWS on Unlocked Rogers i337M.
Tried every possible thing but QPST does not see it on COM Ports. Phone was on NE1, I Odin Flashed it to NC1 but no use.
Tried different phones and all are recognized the second they are plugged in except this one.
A week ago I enabled AWS on the other i337M from rogers that was doing the same thing (Not being recognized by QPST) but can't remember what I did, that QPST started to recognize the phone and still does when I plug that phone in.
I would appreciate if someone could let me know how to make QPST recognize it. I've tried different computers, installed reinstalled Samsung drivers, factory reset phone, enabled disabled apps but no use.

Had same problem here...

Just type *#9090# and switch back to DM/DUN over HSIC... You probably switched it to DM/DUN over HS-USB when doing the unlock and forgot to switch back...
Cheers!

Galaxy Tab not recognized by CDMA WS, QPST or QDXM but....

....in device manager the diag drivers and the port show up fine. I can connect with Odin in recovery and connect through ADB. I have another Tab (same model) and connects fine. Kies is installed and activated modem in diag screen and toggled. I uninstalled the drivers, wiped it back to factory and reinstalled the drivers and tried to connect again, but no luck. I can also read the sd card as well. Any ideas?
Reading some more...
....in other posts similar (which have no conclusions) it appears net.cdma.configurable.mode is set to "-1" and needs to be set to "1". Anyone know how this can be done?
a little more history into this issue; it happened after an meid repair and after I rebooted tab, were it once connected....it never did again. Anyone? Any clues or have i figured out a way to permanently turn this tab into a wifi only model?

[Q] USB/Port Problem, Help!

I have been fighting this for days now and I can't figure out what is going on. I have an i337 32g ATT S4 and I'm on T-mobile. I already did the AWS mod and have 4glte working great. Did this back in May.
I now want to install the T-mobile rom to get full functioning but I can't get my phone to sync with Windows 7pro. I can't get keis to see the phone. Here is a more detailed breakdown. I have phoneutil.apk running. If I set UART to PDA and USB to RNDIS+DM+MODEM and the USB debugger off, windows will show the phone in device manager and I can see it mostly in QPST. It shows up as unknown phone, 0 ESN, 0's for the phone, etc but you can do a backup so it is at least talking in some form I think. Latest version of Kies will not recognize the phone, says unsupported device.
If I activate the USB debugger, the phone disappears from device manager and nothing can see or connect to it, although it does charge. If I take the USB developer switch back off, device manager and QPST can see it again (at least somewhat).
I've read a ton and can't find any help.
Thanks in advance.
New Attempt
I have unistalled all drivers, reinstalled drivers only, no Kies, etc. rebooting, etc. nothing works.
I'm going to try casual from a naked boot (no drivers but with USB debugging) but I don't think it's gonna work.
Worst case, factory reset unless I get some help.
Take your phone off the RNDIS+DM+Modem mode... put it on MTP + ADB mode. To sum it up reverse the steps you followed to enable aws mod. You no longer RNDIS/DM/modem mode enable, that was only to get qpst to detect your phone.

my phone/data are down. The phone can't find the tmobile network at all. I'm thinking factory reset and begin again?
Thanks Febby, you were right.
Oddly, when I fiddle with the lte band selections, it relocks my phone. Very strange.

Phone recognized as modem

Hi,
I have an AT&T Galaxy S4. There was a water issue and for a time we thought it was completely dead. We tried the bag with the rice and sure enough, it was able to charge and turns on. For while, it was in a loop until I wiped the cache through the recovery menu. My phone is stock and using Android 5.01 and the model is the SGH-i337. If I plug in the cable tot he computer, it charges the phone, but it will not recognize it as a mobilde device. I have tried different USB cables, tried using KIES to reinstall the driver software, etc.. I did finally notice that my Devices have a Qualcom Modem installed and since my computer doesn't have a modem, I figured that must be it.
Reading other posts about dial screen codes, I've plaid around with changing some of the USB settings, but there is apparently a way to change from modem to PDA. Can't find a way to access that menu.
Is there anything else I can do? I also tried manually installing the Samsung USB driver manually, but it will not recognize the phone. I realize the water might have done more damage that what appears on the surface, but if it connects, charges and identifies it as a modem, I figured what better place to ask, but here with the experts!
Thank you in advance.

Phone reboots once in Diag Mode and Connected to PC (BP Tools)

I'm trying to do a QCN back up but one of the required steps is to enter the Diag Mode (via starting the phone under BP Tools).
I am using the Qfil desktop app to do this but the phone won't remain on long enough for the backup.
The Qualcomm drivers are installed and the device is being detected by the PC, it just reboots once the USB cable is connected. (stays on for 5-10 seconds max) It stays on indefinitely once no cable is connected.
I've tried different PCs, different drivers, and even radio version 2.10L with no success.
Haven't seen this same problem in other threads and would appreciate any help.

Go to developer option and Enable USB Debugging. (I know it's a late reply but it will help for others )
Thanks, but this was enabled. Still isn't resolved. Can't put a sim in the phone.

ATT Galaxy S5 will not connect to computer

Hi Group... Newbie here and I am sure you will figure that out by my questions and terminology ... I am a Hardware tech specializing in Microsoldering...and Iphones at that. I just bought out another store with loads of devices I am attempting to fix and sell. I have been successful on most all of them, and now have an Att Galaxy S5 that I am getting trolled by.
It powers on (Has an unlocked padlock) while booting. but all APK's ive tried says its not rooted...
I wrote Att unlock and got approved with unlock code (Not attached to an account, not lost or stolen, clean IMEI).
I restored it using power/Home/Volume up (Padlock still unlocked)
I plugged it to computer to use ODIN to restore back to original Stock but phone will not connect to computer.
Developer mode is on and debugging checked... no drop down and not recognized by computer at all. Thinking it could be a charging / Data port (Even though it charges with computer), I swapped the logic board into another "Known Good" housing that does connect. It made 0 difference.
all other Galaxies connect just fine so Cable / USB Port / Drivers all appear okay.
Since I cannot use computer and ODIN, I wanted to try SD Card to restore original Rom... but nothing I am trying works Any ideasany

install this first
https://developer.samsung.com/galaxy/others/android-usb-driver-for-windows
when you put phone in download mode that time Odin should see the phone, if its not then also change USB cable, PC
under developer option check if its listed for charging only or mtp
also on dial pad try this
type *#0808# and enable MTP.
Gave up on this one...Can close post
Thank you for your suggestion but have tried all of that. I have 7 others that connect fine...same model with same cord and same computer. Have the Drivers, tried everything under *#0808#... However, I have tried testing D+ and D- as well and all is good. Changed u7000 as well and no change. I'm pretty certain that it has to be a hardware issue so I just gave up and put it in my parts bin as I don't know Android hardware the way I know Iphones and have too many hours in it to make it worth while
