I switched on car mode via the notification panel once to see how well it works with my car infotainment system.
I now cannot disable car mode. Switching it off via the panel does nothing as it will autostart once the BT connection to my car (Command Online) is established.
I can't find the setting to disable it and Dr Google has solutions for older iterations of Android or Galaxies but not Note 4.
Anyone else having the same issue and found a solution?
I am hoping not to factory reset.

Found it eventually.
Pretty unintuitive as setting was hidden in a submenu under My cars.
Start Car mode >3 dot menu, top right > Settings > My cars > untick auto open via Bluetooth

ok, here's my problem and hopefully someone is able to help
I tried pairing a T505 headset to my N7, everything was going great until nothing happened
I looked at the list of paired devices and there was my T505, thinking it was paired I clicked on it and then ti said "Unfortunately, Settings has stopped"
Everytime I click on it, it crashes...here's the weird part, I tried pairing another headset (Moto Finiti) and it works flawlessly, I can connect/unpair without the "settings" crashing
The T505 can connect to my other phones (blackberry bold/nexus/s2/iphone)
so here is my question, how do we eliminate all settings in the bluetooth menu, since I cannot access the "android menu button"
You could try Settings > All > Bluetooth share > Force stop > Clear cache > Clear data. Worth a try.

thanks for the effort, but that didn't work...already tried that
Just to be clear, if you touch the settings icon to the right edge of the paired device you get the 'Unfortunately, settings...' message. Do you get that if you just touch the paired item?
Same issue here on stock rooted 4.2.
I also can NOT get bluetooth to pair with my Hp dm1 Notebook running windows 8.. It works fine with usb adb and android sdk of course. Even eclipse sees it as a build device fine . So i know its A Bluetooth bug in one of the two.. Both have new software so not sure which one is the issue or a combination of both...
Hi I've just got myself a n6p & the device is brilliant I have one issue & am wondering if there is a solution to it. My Bluetooth won't find my universal Sony car stereo, wont find my son's bt headphones it will find his m7 & my htc m8. Things I have tried are clearing bt app cache & rebooting, settings location 3 dot menu, I've booted into safe mode & tried to connect and I've just flashed elementalx kernel to see if that would solve it which it hasn't. Am I better resetting it and taking it back to the store.
# update
I have reset the stereo Inc removing the car battery terminal for 5 mins & still my Sony stereo will not show on my device list, I have a also tried my partners m8's & dare I say it my brothers iThingi & they won't connect but my old m8 will.

Been digging a bit more and it dosnt only seem to be with the issue https://code.google.com/p/android/i...ry Stars&groupby=&sort=&id=189188#makechanges
are you sure you have the devices in discover mode when you are searching for them ?

correct, that means that your phone is visible to other devices that are in search mode.
often times, you will need to enable the other devices to be visible to your phone.
In other words, just because bluetooth is enabled on a device, doesn't mean it is discoverable to other devices, they need to be made discoverable.
Hy guys, after many, many, many tries. After trying with AAGateWay (thank you Emil Borconi for your hard work). After, after, after... I finally managed to get it working. Android Auto Wireless in Portugal with a Portuguese carrier (Vodafone). Lets explain how.
My HeadUnit (radio): Pioneer AVIC-Z910DAB (it has Wireless connectivity)
My phone: Pixel 2 with factory rom Android 9
My carrier: Vodafone Portugal
Setup:
1 - remove sim card
2 - uninstall Android Auto
3 - switch language to English US
4 - delete paired Bluetooth Head Unit
5 - delete previously connected wireless SSID of Head Unit (if any)
6 - reboot phone
7 - switch on Airplane mode in Phone
8 - install Android Auto
9 - go to Android Auto app and set it up. Enable Developer Settings. Go to developer settings and select "Add wireless projection to settings" option. In AA settings disable Limit WiFi, Autolaunch and Use Bluetooth (all other options as you which). Reboot phone.
10 - go to Android Auto again, settings and enable Wireless projection. Exit AA.
11 - with Airplane mode on switch on only Bluetooth and pair it with the Head Unit - disconnect it right after pairing is accomplished
12 - switch on WiFi and wait until phone connects to Head Unit wireless SSID
13 - with WiFi connected switch off Airplane mode and Bluetooth should connect to radio right after.
14 - if all above successful you should get AA started in your phone and asked to set it up. IF NOT, connect USB cable and set it up (disconnect right after), switch on Air Plane mode and repeat steps 12 and 13.
15 - if connection successful you can insert Sim card and switch language to other than English US (remember that Google Assistant does not work with all languages)
Now, to automate all this and not having to switch on airplane mode, switch on wifi, switch off airplane every time, i use MacroDroid. Its free and pretty much easy to configure. Here's how:
1 - phone needs to be rooted
2 - in macrodroid app: add macro. Trigger: Connectivity: Bluetooth Event: Device Connected (select your radio Bluetooth). Action: Connectivity: Airplane Mode On/Off: Airplane Mode On: Keep Wifi On. Add another Action: MacroDroid Specific: Wait Before Next Action: 5 seconds. Add another Action: Connectivity: Airplane Mode On/Off: Airplane Mode Off. Add another Action (this one is important to prevent trigger loop): MacroDroid Specific: Enable/Disable Macro: select macro with what ever name you gave it (in my case i name it 1): Disable macro.
3 - still in macrodroid app add a second macro: Trigger: Connectivity: Bluetooth Event: Device Disconnected (select your radio Bluetooth). Action: MacroDroid Specific: Enable/Disable Macro: select macro with what ever name you gave it (in my case i name it 1): Enable macro. This second macro is to enable the all process again after you leave/disconnect you car/radio. For better understanding see photo below.
And that's it. It works for me every time i drive my car. Hope this can help some one else as Google is stubborn enough to keep Wireless option to him self
UPDATE
This also works in Android 10.
This solution probably works with other Head Units (radios) and other countries.
Interesting.
So if I understand that right I need only a unit who has WiFi?
My Ford Mondeo built in head unit has WiFi, but does not support wireless Android.
Does it also work? Because as I see your head unit has build in wireless Android Auto Support.
Bit you have only the problem that it is not working in your country. Right?

Hi all
I have weird problem with my h96 Max+
basically whenver i toggle bluetooth on in the settings, it either doesnt look like its fully enabled. or if it toggles completely, then when i back out of the settings page, and immediately go back in to check whether its saved that setting, the bluetooth setting will have turned off again immediately
i have also tried restarting and unplugging all devices. I have even flashed it from Android 8.1 to Android 9 which uses a newer UI. nothing has worked and i cant get the bt to enable
I have also plugged in a usb bluetooth receiver. The light turns on but nothing happens on the software or settings wise
Any ideas to troubleshoot this?
One random google result for the OpenEleec forums for their software suggested it has to do with Ethernet. Which i have tried unplugging to no avail
Thanks
Hello. I bought from AliExpress android headunit for audi a6. In main manu it have "phone" and there I am able to connect phone for calls and music play. I wanted to connect obd2 bluetooth adapter to this android unit but cannot enable bluetooth at all. It has system settings, under that there is android settings. And those are classic tablet settings for Android. There is Bluetooth option, but when I try to enable it, it refuses. Like factory disabled that.
Is there any way to acrivate that Bluetooth like on normal phone or tablet android?
Activate Developer options, check your settings there. Network reset. Clear system cache.

I will try that. Do You think that it has Bluetooth like any other tablet, just restricted by software? Seller told me that doesn't support obd2, only for phone connection.
Cannot turn it on. Video attached
Found bluetooth config and switches to BT transfer. (Was BT phone). Now it works
I have the same issue. Can you tell me exactly how you fixed it. How did you get to Bluetooth config. I may have gotten to it, but I see bt phone or bt audio emission. I'm also trying to connect a bluetooth ObdEleven
