Elix-R Testers - Helpers - Nexus 6 General

Hi, I'm interested in porting over Elix-R V2.0 from the Nexus 5 forum over the Nexus 6 but problem is I don't have the device. Would anyone be interested in testing and helping out?
Note:
You will constantly be flashing ROM tests, and other things.
It is preferable that you have a hangout so we can communicate easily.

I'd be willing to give it a shot. Assuming it won't brick me xD. Looks like a fast rom

I can test here and there, but I can't afford to flash stuff constantly because I use my phone alot and this is my daily device.

what kind of devices? i'm working with a couple motorolas and htc's but i'm sure plenty of testers can be found and can expand to many other devices. i'll be honest. I have built several ROMs from source and have TONS of saved mods and tweaks which i can refer to but I'm not good at working with interface. btw I am on the official team for SwiftLinux, so I have plenty of Linux experience, but tbh one again I won't be the BEST asset to the team but with guidance I have been looking for this for a long time and I am willing to do anything to get on a with some expereinced ROM builders to show me what I don't know, and to add my time (which is about 18 hrs a day) to helping put out great ROMs. I know how to build from source, I know how to port, I can use kitchen, I have experience pretty much everywhere, the only place I've really failed is UI mods.

Hi lemonoid
if you wanted to help us impoverished guys over on Tablet Republic with ROM development for the i.MX6 quad core Sanei N10 tablet it would be fantastic.
It's still only ICS but we were hoping for JB and a dual boot version with Ubuntu like the upcoming DaVinci Nibbio which is being released mid March.
Sorry if this is out of line but we need all the experienced help we can get as far as ROM development is concerned.
Thanks
Not out of line at all. I think all ROM development is great!

We could use new devs for the HTC desire, we don't have good working camera in android 4.x or kernel 3.. If you are interested, the desire community will be thankful..

The epic 4g touch section has a bunch of great devs. But we have lost a few. Im sure they wouldnt mind more help.
Since the losses, i think they've been having trouble with a few different things. We have great 4.2.2 roms, but no official samsung releases. For some reason, they cannot get JB modems to work. No CWM touch recoveries, and a few bugs that havent been solved for a while.
Just giving you options.

New to the this forum.

Hi,
I've had a HTC Incredible S and just got a Google Nexus 4. This phone looks awesome already. I was wondering, what's the difference between 'Android Dev' and 'Original Android Dev'?
Thanks.

Welcome to the Nexus 4 section, @Incredible2011.
I have a little request in the beginning. Kindly, take your future questions to Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting.
Coming over to your query, here is the answer.
Android Development is a sub-section which comprises of ROMs/Kernels/Mods and tweaks which are not self-compiled or developed, or are usage of some other developer's work. It mostly contains Stock modified/tweaked ROM, Kernels and enormous minimal tweaks.
While, Original Development is a sub-section area where all the actual ROM/Kernel/Mod development goes. Everything that is worked out by the developer himself shall be posted there. You will find all the source compiled ROM/Kernels like CyanogenMod, ParanoidAndroid, AOKP, Franco's Kernel etc in this section.

Hi, I'm Memento and I am delighted to participate in this great community recognized internationally
Greetings from Spain
Nexus 4 community is getting bigger each day
Its good there are so many new members, just wished people would read and search more themselves instead of asking/posting even the most basic things. Read the stickies and the OP`s of the kernel/rom you want to flash. None the less welcome you all
Thanks all for clearing that up and for the warm welcome. I hope to be helpful in any way I can and hope to learn from you all!

What rom and kernel are you using and why.

Just seen a similar thread below so please disregard this thread.
Had a similar thread on the nexus 5 thread. The idea is not a slagging of match about which rom is best because all devs spend a lot of time putting roms together for free and sharing with us. So it's just to share what rom and kernel you are using and why you prefer it. This is because we have so many custom roms and kernels with different features. For instance I use rastapop because I used this on nexus 5 and it's been solid and fast. I also use franco kernel because have always used it from nexus 4 and it's stable and smooth for me. So your thoughts please.

Lack of development!?why?

pixel's are some great phones.but its development?seems developers are not so intrested in our phones.not to forget devlopers like @Chainfire, @Dees_Troy , @flar2 we got the platform ready for the development but all the developments stopped at that same level.when comparing to oneplus 3 forum there is a lot of development over there.it's like we are left alone by the developers community.what makes our device not so likable to the developers?!.maybe because of all the complications that are involved in rooting, dual slots, etc?in this thread we can discuss what can be done to get in our beloved developers to our forum..
P.S.if you guys think it is a useless forum please forgive me and delete it.
Fyi there are already other posts of this same topic. The slowness basically boils down to the new partition setup and I bet once we get a good stable TWRP and devs figure out the issue they are running into with the gapps having to be integrated we will see more development. I know Dirty Unicorns has their rom out in testing on their g+ group and Pure Nexus is also in testing.
Development took a long time to get rolling on my last phone, the Nexus 5X, and that's a NEXUS DEVICE. There are a few new hurdles this time around but just have patience. I'm confident development will pick up. Dirty Unicorns is already out and UberStock is in testing. There are several kernels that have been released as well.
Here is a development discussion thread already in progress:

A flashable zip creation process is hindering some folks right now.

Developers, we need your help

Many people are looking for a smartphone with a great cost-benefit and able to meet all our needs. Sincerely? The answer for many would be the Mido. But there are a lot of people who need a more portable smartphone, which can be handled with just one hand without problems. These people decided to bet on the Redmi 4 Prime, which has practically the same characteristics and very similar parts. However, its development was not as great as its bigger brother, and recently one of the top developers abandoned the device, leaving a lack of content. So, I come to you, to that you kindly port some ROMs from the very similar brother to our smartphone. I think we will give you all the attention you deserve, because only those who do not have something know the true importance of things.
+1
+1 , would love to see some of the greatest developers on Mido working on the Redmi 4 Prime !
+1
That would be a relief for thousands of Redmi4 Primes and their owners!!
Really?u came here to request redmi note 4 developers to port rom for redmi 4 prime, with ur funny reason of one hand usability.Sry but developers of redmi note 4 not only work for its roms but also updating it frequently and now with android o's arrival do u really expect anyone to help u out?.The only people who can help you all are redmi 4 prime user themselves
You should be able to easily port Mido ROM's as it's same SoC, weird that nobody has tried it.
+1.
How many threads like this we will see in Redmi Note 4 section?
I can understand ask for help to fix some bug but not request to port whole rom to different device. If you think that is easy because they are "similar", then port by your own rom from Mido to your device.
I think it's not a real request that just somebody build roms for the RM4P.
Problem is that the RM4P wont be supported very good in future because xiaomi just pulled it from the market (nougat update is not shure)
I think it would be very very useful to get a clear view on which source parts can be used for both smartphones.
Could result in some very nice sinergy effects. TBH RM4P would gain a lot more out of it... but who knows
I think there is no reason to keep device development separted when the devices are so similar
And TBH #2: I can clearly see where your restrains come from. A lot of xiaomi users are just whining all the time. Its like a bunch of kids (anybody who knows the miui.com forum might know what Im talking about)
But it would be really sad if we would miss the opportunity for sharing/caring for our two devices because of that

Well, we need to have at least a kernel to make a good kernel for use so dev can make at least one rom possible if possible, I know it's difficult to carry a ROM for a smartphone that you do not have, imagine making a ROM without knowing it , I would do it if I had conditions and knowledge about but I do not have, so we are asking for help we want at least an official 100% functional ROM
c'mon dude... what's wrong with those r4p guys that jusk ask for help...
if you can't help them better to be quiet instead of insulting them or asking them to go away...
btw for r4p guys:
I think it will be very hard dude... yes, our device share same SoC (Snapdragon 625)
but I've look into it, we have different display, touch module, camera...
there is other components too like fingerprint, modem, wifi, bluetooth, battery, etc... I'm not sure it's same between r4p and rn4.
You could try to flash one of the kernel or even rom here, but it's very dangerous and I think no one want to take the risk
It'd be great help if any developer can build a stable kernel for markw out of mido. R4p's own kernel source can help with that.
I am also a redmi 4 prime user and would love if there is something that could be done.

we ask for your help since you're a bigger community. and you have like 5 official ROM's, and we have none. if you don't know, our dev @Razziell quit because he hadn't enough money to continue. his sources are good, so if you want to help its not from scratch - we have his sources.
unfortunately r4p community doesn't have many devs(if at all) to do this job.
maybe if one dev from here talk with Razziell or help him , he might convince him to stay.
we really sorry to bother you guys with those threads, but understand our situation

You do not need to talk about things you do not know. I had problems with the hard drive and only some people from the Russian community helped them to solve. For them, I continue to work. The rest can freely use my source, they are completely working.

You have problem with HD? Why didn't say that in R4P forums, you just say that you want to stop developing because you don't have time to do it. Is that whole reson to stop sharing with R4P community ?
C'mon guys!!!
Any good dev out here?? We have a good kernel.
Not fair that Note 4x as more roms and his little brother don't!! <3

Why not fair? Unfair is your stipulation and pretensions. Its simple: more popular device = more devs = more custom roms.
This thread should be closed because if devs will want to help - they will and pretensions like above will not change anything.
I recommend you guys start taking the initiative and learn to build the kernel yourselves.
