when i was unlocking my nexus 4, the reboot process was taking far too long and a friend told me to restart so i held down the power button to restart it. After i did that, it would either bootloop on the colors or just stay on 'Google' screen! I have access TWRP but i can't fastflash anything! and when i look around TWRP, it says i have no OS installed! TWRP allowes the option to ADB but im not sure if it's properly installed. Please help!!!!

Google 15 second adb install xda. That'll setup fastboot on your pc. Then flash the factory image in fastboot

Hello forgive me if this is the wrong place on this forum for this topic.
I unlocked my phone with the wugfresh method and did keep it stock ROM. Now my sweet google phone wants to update OTA but it won't do it.
Can someone help me. I want to go 4.3 and keep it stock, and rooted: )

Do it manually by downloading the Google factory images and flashing them yourself. Can either flash them through a toolkit like I did (which most people wouldn't recommend), or you can flash them yourself with fastboot. A quick search or look around will show you how to do it

Do you mean that selecting the download/install button will not do anything?
Did you install a custom recovery?, you need a stock recovery for it to work, I have the stock recovery image itself if you need it.

Indeed de download/install button didn't do anything. I have custom recovery twrp on it.
I did downloaded the nexus 4 image and unpacked it. And tried to install true a toolkit but with no luck.

i guess the google image isnt on the sd card anymore. how do i put the google image on the sd card.
i am using the wugg fresh method now
Use fastboot to flash the image from your computer. Efrant has a guide for returning to stock in General.
This, yet again, is why people shouldn't use toolkits.
gues thanks my nexus is back alife with the post in the general, id managed it. thanks guys.
this method brings me some old dos memories back :highfive: hhehe was fun afterwarts
now running stock again with 12gb memm
Guys I need your help.
I have Nexus 4 16GB pre owned. Bought it with Cyanogenmod 10.2 installed already and rooted. Then CM11 nightlies came and I installed it OTA but it seems that it has a lot of bugs so I rolled back to CM10. When I rolled back and rebooted, it does not come up (Google and Cyanogenmod logo only). I rebooted it to bootload mode, then recovery (TWRP) and accidentally wiped out everything including ROM/OS. I don't have that much knowledge in restoring my phone. I tried connecting it to PC (WinXP) and it does not recognize the device. Tried everything posted in different forums on how to connect my device to PC but to no avail. Cannot do USB debugging thing 'cause I can only utilize device's recovery mode (TWRP). I'm thinking now on having this device repaired by cellphone repair shop just to install OS.Anyone can help? Other forums look like too technical for me. Noob here, really.
Hi I've just had a quick look, try this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2010312
It mentions about installing drivers and says the USB Debugging ones are not required.

Boot up holding vol down so you are at the android part.
Then attached your phone to your PC and use adb push to push a custom rom or download your source image from google.
Grab the google factory image here https://dl.google.com/dl/android/aosp/occam-krt16s-factory-2006f418.tgz
Then do adb shell
mkdir /sdcard/Download
exit
adb push /donwload folder/name of the zip /sdcard/Download
Then go to recovery twrp and install the zip
Should get you up and running

Hey folks,
I've been a bit stupid and wiped the OS off my nexus. I am a novice rooter (as you can probably tell) and was basically messing with stuff I shouldn't have. I can still access the bootloader but there is no saved rom there. I have been told there is a way for me to 'push' a ROM onto the handset?
Any help appreciated!
Matt

Are you on stock rom? Boot into recovery and do a factory reset
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Free mobile app
Boot into recovery and push your file to your sd card via adb on your command line. Easiest way to solve your problem
phone got wiped, os and all. can only get into team win recovery (no android with !). in recovery file manager there is NOTHING on the phone. can not get phone to be recognized by computer. used sdk to install drivers still nothing. can not activate usb debugging as there is no os. reboot in recovery gives warning no os on phone. there is nothing to restore, all folders in install tab are completely empty. is there anyway to save my phone? there is nothing on it...just enough for safe mode and recovery.
You need to get the computer to recognize your device. When booted into recovery and the device connected to your pc go to device manager and see what the issue is.

You've got two options
1. Flash the factory image.with fastboot. You'll then have to re-install twrp amrd root
2. Push a rom onto your device using adb in recovery. Then flash that in twrp

Simplest way is to download the factory image. Google nexus factory image. It's a .tgz file. Extract it using 7-zip. There's a flash-all.bat file in there. Boot into the bootloader and with your device connected to the pc just double click the flash-all.bat. It will wipe your device so if you can, backup first.

Bonehead move I know. Now I need some help to fix. I flashed a stock 5.0 ROM and everything was working fine. Got the 5.0.1 prompt so I flashed a stock recovery (4.4.4 hence my problem). Of course the update wouldn't flash. Now to complicate things all of a sudden my PC won't detect my Nexus 4. It detects my wife's Nexus 4 fine so I'm thinking not a cable or driver problem. Ive tried multiple cables and reinstalled drivers with no luck. So now I need to root and or install custom recovery without a PC. Any ideas?

It doesn't show anything. Its as if it isn't connected at all. I've tried from the bootloader and recovery screens and also rebooted both phone and pc. Still shows nothing in device manager. Phone shows charging but no mtp notification or anything that it is connected. As soon as I plug our other nexus 4 in the pc recognizes it immediately.

To root your device use towelroot from your device. Although I don't know what you're going to do with root. Also, can you get the device detected by your pc when you're booted into recovery or the device?

Towelroot wouldn't work. Says device isn't supported. Maybe it will get updated to work on lollipop. If I could obtain root I can flash custom recovery and start with a fresh install. Just have to find a way to do it with an app
