Obviously not had a proper play yet but I will
Sorry for that. Ignore this one please.
I glanced through the top 5 threads and didnt see it, so assumed it wasn't posted. My bad.

Just curious, when I first got got the phone and rooted twice, I became unable to perform profile/prl update along with software update checking as well. I also couldn't do a ##786 or ##72786. I really want to root again with MF9 to do the hotspot mod. Anyone els ecome across this issue and can offer any advice I would really appreciate it.

I use aosp 95% of the time I've had my GS4 and I never update prl/pro and I have lte when other people who are completely stock tw don't and have to update to get it. Not sure what your issue was, all tw have the option to update pro/prl maybe something was up with Sprint..? I've had no issues using Aosp and we have some killer roms (official) for this device! Maybe someone else will have a solution to this.. I used Chainfires auto root twice and always was able to update em.

The error I get which I forgot to mention is "session in progress, please try again later". it only does this while rooted. I can immediately unroot and flash back to stock and everything works perfectly.
I've seen that a few times but I immediately hit update again and everything works fine.
Oh and I'm always rooted.

I took the chance and this time everything worked perfectly! I only wanted to root for the hotspot mod so I'm glad all went well.

I have the ATT G2. This phone is NOT rooted and is 100% stock. I upgraded to KK yesterday... some minor little bug just annoy me... is there a way to go back to 4.2.2 without rooting?
Thanks

idk about AT&T, but with a D80x, you'd just need to flash the proper KDZ using the LG Flashtool.
This request does not compute! !!!

Yeah there is an easy way to go back. Go to this thread by @SuperSport http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2663369 and download one of the JB installers. No root needed and it won't root your phone. I've used his installers to upgrade to KK and back to JB and it worked fine for me. Make sure to backup anything you want to keep because it will wipe all of your files.
thanks guys... that worked!
Hey guys I have this exact same issue (trying to go from the 4.4.2 back to 4.2.2) Except I'm on the Tmobile version of the G2 (D801 I believe). Any hope for me? I looked at that thread and those all seem to be AT&T versions.
Oh and I did that upgrade with no previous root or unlock or anything, bought from the store, and went right to 4.4.2 with the LG tool. now I wanna get back so i can root it.

Many thanks I've searched all over for that!
Just curious, what bugs or annoyance do you guys have with the new stock KK? I've been on it for the past day or so and find it extremely smooth (did factory reset after flashing and started everything over).

my only annoyance is that every few days the wallpapers I put get changed to stock I haven't figured out why this happens

mine was that I use yahoo IM a lot. It is probably more of a yahoo issue than KK, but I lost my LED light for yahoo. Other than that, it seemed exactly the same as 4.2.2 did except added a couple of apps...
FWIT: I did this procedure, it worked like a champ... worked extremely well... but if ya do it, might consider removing the SIM card. It like erased my SIM... I don't know why it would... but it didn't work after that. Had to go to ATT and get it reset. Didn't cost anything, just a minor nuisance. Over all, I would do it again!
Thanks!

I always do a factory reset after a big system update because I've found that you tend to get bugs and things after the update. The reset usually cures it.

Title says it all.
I tried flashing the 3 latest versions of SuperSU with no luck.
I'm using CWM to flash it and it goes well, but as soon as I boot my N4 - bam, no root.
Didn't have this issue with Android L Dev Preview. Everything went smooth as silk.
Am I the only one having this issue? Does anyone know of a solution?
Thanks in advance
i can't rooted android 5.0 releaded.

It works!
I entered all forums on the Nexus 4 category but skipped the General because I figured its not related to development/rooting etc.
Thanks again, you rock

Good to know! Lollipop FEVER!
My daughter's G2 (AT&T) is not working right after OTA to Lollipop. The typical issue is battery drain, next is the Google calendar sync and Contact sync issue and then the apps startup lagging. She did try factory reset, but that did not fix any issues at all.
Is there any way to revert back to KitKat or work around to all these issues ? She is very frustrated for the update.
Thanks,
Ching-Ho Cheng
Flash back to Kit-Kat

Thank you, I will take a look.
Is there no other solution aside from flashing back to Kitkat? I'm also getting the same issue after upgrading to Lollipop... already did a reset twice and it only works for 1-2 weeks till I get the same issue again

Well, you could try to see or there might be a newer lollipop version available for the g2 else you could always try some custom roms or only flash dorimanx kernel as lollipop went much better when I flashed that kernel. but I suggest to disable root on your daughters phone.
If these 3 things don't solve it well, then she has to go back to kitkat.

Been trying to get root access with various videos to no avail, guess the new updates made those not working.
Already soft-bricked my device once within 30 minutes of having it LOL.
But anyways, she's running fine again just don't really care for the stock rom so much..
I thought someone had the S9 rom working well on these? Maybe not the Verizon version??
Any help would be much appreciated, tons of outdated threads on here..
if someone could just give me the current low-down on what the situation is!
I'll be in the same boat soon. Did you get your phone brand new? What firmware did your phone come with?

I'll help if you're trying to get root. Are you guys on marshmallow, nougat or lollipop?
If you don't want to root there is a leaked version of Oreo that runs pretty smooth. there is a couple guides on how to install it throughout the s7 forums.

Just installed Oreo on my G930V yesterday and I have to second this. Oreo is running AMAZING on my phone. Super fast and little to no bugs.
