I have a TMO Galaxy Note 3, Rooted with CF Using TWRP running Version 5.0. Im looking to installing a custom Rom but just kinda overwhelmed with bootloaders on or off ,Kernals and so on. I was just wondering if someone could give me some advice to a Rom that would be a little less complicated until i figure everything else out. Thanks~!

Just head over to android development section and download any rom of your choice. You mentioned your phone is 5.0/lollipop so no need to think about bootloader. While kernel is already in the rom so you're good to go. Just follow instructions in the thread to the letters. Read a few pages of the thread so you could get some info on whether you t-mo is supported or not or for any other issues may have related to the rom.

I would recommend Darklord Note 5 Rom, there is an update coming in the next day or two and I would download that update. It is fast and has a pretty good battery life for me. Plus it doesn't have all the random mods that other developers put on their roms. So you can just put the mods that you need yourself.
P.S. Make a backup of everything incase you need to revert back for any reason. Also, there is no way as of now to have NFC working on a custom rom for Note 3 TMO/ canada.
for me try arya mod or the darklord n5 rom
Just rooted my phone was running @5.0 stock lollipop and I updated to Jasmine 6.1 ROM (I thought 6.1 means 6.1 Android Version but i guess i was wrong)
I'm looking for verizon galaxy note 3 rom that's running on marshmallow
I seen T mobile note 3 can flash rom that's running on marshmallow right now
Is there any marshmallow rom available for verizon model as well?
I'm relatively new to all of this but from what I can gather our bootloaders are still locked (anyone that hasn't flashed a different one before 4.4) I have a rooted 5.0 verizon note 3 but I can't get twrp on it to flash any roms. I don't know if there are anyways around this so if anyone can point me to a set of instructions to read up on, it'd be greatly appreciated.
Their is no Marshmallow (android 6) ROM available that I am aware of. Perhaps we shall get lucky and their will be a Jasmine one available one day?

Due to an exploit you can root it now. Many android devices that were once not rootable are now rootable. You can also install custom roms, but their is still no solution for installing Boot Recoveries (like TWRP)
You can root your device through yemen one click
Then use FlashFire to install Jasmine Rom. Seems to work pretty decent for me.

i know this threads old but root then do bootloader unlock and use flashify to flash recovery then flash roms and enjoy.
Most marshmallow roms currently don't support verizon sim cards. since they use CDMA towers and all MM Roms ive seen are based off Global models (GSM). I guess there are ways to work around it, but they're labor intensive and still don't seem to work well/reliably. They also still have problems with the SMS/MMS and applying their provided patch on a Verizon phone causes bootloop .
I've tried Music of life, Darklord, and Darkwolf. all have some sort of problem. i'm went back to jasmine 6.1. I made a full backup using TWRP 2.8.7 before mucking around with the other roms. so i've been playing around with roms worry free. lol but IMHO there is yet to be one worth using as a daily driver.
CM13 unofficial works pretty well but it doesn't support S-pen and all those little fancy things.

CM13 is MM derived and works fine on Verizon. (I don't know about MVNOs that use Verizon's network - I'm an "ordinary" VZW subscriber). SMS/MMS/Calls, whatever. There are a few odds and ends (e.g. NFC) that aren't working, but the things that make it a phone - SMS/MMS/calls - all have been solid in my limited usage.

Yeah i liked cm13. It was working pretty good for me, i made a twrp recovery image so i could play with it here and there. Just no fancy touchwiz features like spen and multiwindow.
Also, On one of the s6 ported roms i could send sms and recieve sms but not mms. i was also able to get data connection. I like it the best but it still needs some polishing. I just flashed a stock deodexed lollipop rom, still taking it for a test spin to compare against jasmine 6.0. But so far i like it. If i can get more xposed modules working on this rom it may be my favorite so far. Im waiting on darkwolfs v3's release which is schedualed for this weekend .

Verizon Galaxy Note 3 Bootloader HAS been unlocked
I found a thread on here showing how to unlock the bootloader on the Verizon note 3 about a month ago however everyone is still saying its locked. I would love it if someone made a port of the s7 edge and note 5 android 6.0.1 for the Verizon note 3. But, I'm simply just about done wishing since nobody can seem to realize that the bootloader IS UNLOCKED .

In terms of 'current' the Note 3 is still great hardware... But it's coming up on 3 years old and in terms of technology... That's OLD.
Most developers have moved on to bigger and better (newer) phones.

I think it's this one: [Official] Note 3 Verizon Bootloader Unlock.
I've got a VzW Note 3 (SM-N900V) frozen at v4.4.2 using SafeStrap v3.75 (TWRP v2.7.1.0) The device and TWRP work great; I've made changes and roll backwards and forwards -- although I've only done one ROM upgrade, and that was to this specific version. BTW, Xposed and One Tap YouTube downloader now work again.
I like having a computer in my pocket but I want it to work -- phone, WiFi, BT, camera, pen, LTE, everything. Running a neat ROM where things don't function just doesn't work for me anymore.
(This, and I used to write firmware-level hard disk drivers.)
I've frozen ALL of my devices to 4.4.X -- because they all look and act exactly the same. I don't mind different apps on different devices, but they need to act the same. If I'd wanted to Think Different I'd have ibought an iApple.
Looking at v6 M to see if I can upgrade all of them.
I have tried almost every marshmallow rom made for note 3, i have a n900v and i have flashed all of this roms http://forum.xda-developers.com/ver...x-roms-5-x-6-x-rooted-note-3-verizon-t3364341
I favor darklord rom right now I setup my phone slightly different then most do in build prop don't know if it made much of a difference but if don't have the issues most do lte sms calls etc work fine for me. I have an iPhone 6 plus also jailbroken/rooted yes I like to be different hate being another sheep like everyone else with the exact same phone lmao. I like all my phone my way that's reason 1 for me not liking my Verizon s6

You don't have to call him a douche. Honestly, I was thinking "Seriously?" as well because this is the first thing you think (rather, post of) before Nougat even comes out. We can't see the future, so this question will probably go without an indefinite answer. My input on it, though, is that root is possible if engboot still works, but if it doesn't then we're probably screwed. And I doubt engboot will work without having even MORE issues than it already does, if it even works at all.
But seriously, the name calling was unnecessary. You're the one asking the question, no need to call people names.

Sent from my SM-T715Y using XDA-Developers mobile app
I don't understand the reasoning behind the question. Nougat isn't even out yet. If you want root, then root your phone. If you want rooted Nougat, wait a couple days after release for someone to build a rooted ROM on it. Why would you want to flash back to stock just to root again instead of just flashing the rooted version from the beginning? I'm assuming that's why you got the "seriously?" reactions. Well, that and the fact that since Nougat hasn't even been released yet, so it's physically impossibly for anyone to know if it can be rooted. But yeah, I'd advise you to wait until someone uploads a rooted Nougat ROM for your phone instead if flashing back to stock and hoping to root that way. Its a million times easier to root it before putting it on your device
Based upon my understanding of how KNOX operates along with the stricter changes made to dm-verity in 7.0, I wouldn't hold my breath when it comes to rooting the S7. I know that the guys that come up with these rooting methods are very creative and smart, but KNOX, combined with SELinux, dm-verity, and locked bootloaders, is almost impossible to overcome. I've been looking at the people discussing the dirtyc0w exploit as an alternative root method, and I don't think it's possible to use it because of these safeguards.
We were extremely lucky with the leaked engboot method of rooting the S7. Without that, it's very possible that we still wouldn't have root on it.
Just a bit of addition to this conversation: It's likely our current root method won't work on Nougat. It depends on how different the kernels are, but since the engboot is built for MM there's no guarantee it's compatible with a new version. There's no guarantee it won't prevent flashing the engboot kernel once you're on it, and flashing a rooted system and then switching kernels won't help since the new kernel will verify the system.
I just really hope that we can get SuperSU on Nougat now that It has began to roll out today on my AT&T Galaxy S7. I've captured the ota update for it but someone else has already posted them on the forums so I won't waste my time. Despite how beautiful Nougat looks, I'm gonna wait and stick with MM. Why? Root. I'm almost certain that once you've updated to Nougat, it won't let you flash back to MM because of the locked bootloader, and for me personally, I want to keep root so bad because of the Viper4Android equalizer. The thing gives great sound quality and music wouldn't be the same without it. Honestly, If you really wanted to keep root then my advice is to stick with MM and wait (as long as it may take) for a working root method to come out for this new update.
Cheers!

I simply downloaded and am currently using the latest update from the developers website. Be sure to download the latest version of the app listed under "Viper4Android FX" and make sure BusyBox is properly installed on your device under /system/xbin or /system/bin. I was previously on APJ4 and just upgraded to APK1 today and haven't noticed any problems.

Let me start off by saying i appreciate all the developers who put in the hard work to make root and such possible. I could not imagine the frustration they go through.
So my question is about the future of this phones development, I feel like as of December 31 2016 that the chances of root are only for those with builds with/under pd8 (as far as I'm aware) (I am running PK1) everyone above pd8 build is SoL. So my question, is there any chance we will see full root for those of us on the newer builds? Also with the talks of the Nougat update around the corner will root be harder to achieve seeing as its new firmware and developers haven't had much time digging into it? My reason for wanting root is to have xposed running, viper4android and be able to debloat it. Forgive my ignorance but does it feel like the s7e development is stuck? I feel like maybe I would get a better experience if I traded in s7e for a device that has more stable development. I'm sorry if I offended anyone, if anything I just want to be informed.

Nothing sure what kind of answer you're looking for that you wouldn't already know.
We only have root due to an engineering kernel.
Android 7 requires a different kernel. So we can't use it.
So unless we get a leaked engineering kernel for Android 7 then we will have to see if we can unlock the bootloader or discover some other kind of exploit. But I'm sure you already knew all of that.
The s7 is pretty much dead, are only hope is that a dev finds an exploit and capitalizes or an inside man leaks a file for Nougat.

I just got CM14 (Nougat) on my Note 4, it made it into a whole new device way better than the laggy S7Edge. Here's hope that Nougat has some exploit and we can root it. CM14 is so smooth.
Root is supposed to work thru pk1 with eng kernel. When I update to official 7.x I am going to leave bootloader as is so I can still root.
I am not impressed that much with the new rom and hate the user interface, so I may go back to rooted 6.0 until if and when 7.x is rooted.

you may not be able to bootup android 7 with a MM bootloader. I ran into this problem in the past with my older notes. I couldn't get MM to work on a LP bootloader. It would awesome if someone could pull out the Beta nougat BL so we could revert it ends up being a problem.

If we can't revert back to a bootable mm and that us no sign of a rootable nouget, I may just kiss thus device good by and get a 935f.
Chen has multiboot working on it plus, he has a 7.0 Rom with Wi-Fi calling working. I may have to give up some tmo network features, but given that they have no plans to get the higher speed frequencies where I live, there is not much that I will be loosing out on.

Would not loose WiFi calling - it is working in Chen's 935f ROM. I think we loose band 12 and possibly another, bit not sure.
The best way would be to ask him - but am going to search his threads before I ask.
I attempted to do mine when I first got it a few months ago and bricked it, said I was going to wait until it's more streamlined but I haven't really heard much. Has anything more streamlined come out in the last few months?
Mine is the t-mobile variant
No
I just got my t mobile v20 last night. i was reading all the threads about root/twrp for the previous 2 day so i'd be ready to go. I did it successfully last night with root, custom ROM and TWRP. It is difficult but not exceptionally. Just tedious. I've done this on prior samsungs, LGs, and my most recent nexus 6p. This was the most lengthy and annoying for sure. But I'm glad I did it. I'd be glad to help if you are interested in trying.
I'd say it depends on your carrier. AT&T and Sprint don't have KDZ files. Don't brick if you're on one of those 2. LOL
And Canada?

Agree. Use that thread he linked. Read it a couple times to make sure you understand what's going on. Have all the necessary files ready like twrp, supersu, dirtycow exploits, etc. Makes it so much easier in the long run. I also personally always recommend rebooting your pc before starting anything like this to make sure its all fresh/updated and ready to see devices/drivers/etc.
Hello, I just got my Sprint LG V20 and am looking for how too unlock an root it?? Any help would be great!!
I almost attempted to root mine the other night.. got hung up with terminal commands since i'm use to one click root style methods... then as I read more.. saw notes about people having "2nd screen static" issues.. so now i'm concerned that rooting may cause some glitches that I really don't want for my new phone..
The big reason i wanted to root was for XPOSED and Gravity Box, however I found out yesterday that its not even out yet for NOUGAT.. so i'm glad I didn't attempt it yet..
