(Q)Knox Exynos n910C - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Exynos n910C don't have knox , instead it has private mode.
If I root It, knox bootloader will be knox 1?
Will I still have private mode?
Or I will have to uninstall it with Titanium Backup?
I don't care about warranty void but I Wat all the stock apps and knox private mode.
In Note 3 rooting privileges were incompatible with knox And recommend it to uninstall it.
Is it the same in Note 4 Exynos?

I have a N910C and it does have KNOX.
With the rooting methods we have now, if you root it, your "WARRANTY VOID" flag will be set to 1 (KNOX will be tripped).

Yes I know that warranty will be void, but will knox private mode still work? Or will I have the message that says knox is preventing supersu privileges. And therefore i will have to uninstall it with Titanium Backup?
I have exynos sm-n910c, In Download mode says Knox 0. But I don't have the knox app, instead i have Private Mode.

It seams that snapdragon has knox 0x0 and exynos just only knox 0

also i dont have knox app instaled...

KNOX is always there. In EVERY SINGLE VARIANT.
In order to set it up, go to GOOGLE PLAY and download MYKNOX app.

[I9500][4.3] Root knox bootloader

I have 4.3 and the knox warranty flag is set to 0x1 (void warranty). I wanted to ask if and how can I Root my device, since cf-auto-root didn't work for me and triggered knox notifications that prevented me from opening the SuperSU application.

[Q] Asking confirmation : S4+CWM+Knox = 0x1

Hi,
I'm a new S4 (i337M) owner, I had a S2 but it broke.
I saw a couples of warning about the Knox BS from Samsung and I want to be sure that I understand everything.
My Android Version is 4.3 MK6 . In the download mode, I have the knox 0x0 . If I install the CWM Recovery, is it possible to keep the 0x0 or it will trip to 0x1 ? My phone is rooted but I want to do a nandroid backup before playing with mods and roms and I think that it's not possible without a custom recovery.
If I trip knox to 0x1, I know that I will not be able to use the knox option (and I don't give a sh_t about Knox) but if it's possible to do a nandroid without tripping the 0x0, it will be nice
Thanks guys !
Yes, if you flash CWM, your Knox will trip to 0x1, and your warranty will be void.
No, you cannot do a Nandroid without a custom recovery, which means you will trip your Knox counter.
Yes, you CAN root your MK6 without tripping Knox, it just will not give you custom recovery options.

First of all, big thanks for your fast reply !
My S4 is rooted ( I did it an hour after I had the phone ) , so if I have a Knox 0x1 and if I don't care about the know feature and about the phone's warranty, do I will be able to flash customs roms and original roms ?
I have the same problem!!!

I have an AT&T S4 that has a tripped Knox counter(0x1). I have no problems gaining root access. I have used Odin 3.10, Heimdall, Casual, and Loki to try to obtain a custom recovery such as CWM or TWRP, but none of these worked. I'm starting to think that if the Knox counter is tripped, the container for Samsung's Knox software is locked forever and you can never flash a custom recovery. Someone PLEASE tell me I'm wrong and there is a way to flash custom recovery with a 0x1 counter tripped.

On the SGH-I337, any bootloader more recent than the original MDB or MDL are locked in such a way that you can not load a custom kernel or a custom recovery. You are limited to root, safestrap, and Samsung Touchwiz based firmware. As far as I know, it has nothing to do with knox.
Incidentally, the original MDB and MDL bootloaders were locked as well, but LOKI exploited a flaw in the bootloader code which allowed custom kernel and custom recovery to be installed. This flaw was removed starting with the MK2 and newer bootloaders.

How do you know if you tripped KNOX?

I went into download mode and there was nothing about knox 0x0 or 0x1. It does however, say "system status: custom" and when I rebooted, it says "custom" on the samsung flash with an unlocked lock. I followed the instructions from rootjunky and I seem to have root, but as for knox and my warranty, I'm not sure if I screwed up big time.
Edit: Okay, so I did a bit more searching and I guess "system status: custom" doesn't have anything to do with knox so I'm okay? Also, what caused this? towelroot, supersu, rootchecker? I still would like to know I can tell if I tripped knox though.

I believe it will say Knox Warranty Status Void or Warranty Bit 0x1, either way you will know if you tripped it in download mode. Towelroot dose not trip knox. As for custom status having root and having a modified system will cause this. It will return to Official when you Odin back to stock with no root.

[Q] S4 GT-I9505 Root / Knox / PhilZ recovery

Hello, I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 KOT49H I9505XXUGNK4 running Android 4.4.2
Currently Knox status is 0x0
I have read many threads here on XDA but have not found the answer I'm looking for.
Is it possible to install a custom recovery such as PhilZ recovery and keep Knox at 0x0?
I have read that using chainfires auto-root package will trip knox, so is the only way to root is using TowelRoot?
Is TowelRoot still valid for this version of the firmware KOT49H I9505XXUGNK4?
If TowelRoot works on this firmware, is it correct that I should then remove all knox apps and then install SuperSu from the playstore?
Thanks!

1. No. Custom Recovery will void automatically your warranty: KNOX 0x1.
2. Towelroot don't works with all firmwares. But you can try this other method for root your device without void your warranty: HERE..
3. No. I think only till GNF1.
4. You can remove the bloatware and KNOX app being rooted: HERE. Your device don't gonna be rooted only downloading SuperSU of the playstore. Follow the step 2.

So if any custom recovery will automatically void my warranty (trip knox) how do I do a full backup (nandroid backup) that I can restore later?
I know I could install the online nandroid backup app but I if my phone boot loops, I would not be able to install it.
What do other people do, is everybody not concerned about the knox flag?

1. One way to backup your things without trip knox is:
- Copy all your internal data on your pc (photos, music, videos, important data). Make this one time for month. You can copy every folder for be sure to your pc too ( I do this).
- Make a backup of your EFS/IMEI (very important) keeping it on your pc or External SDCard: HERE. EFS/IMEI is the identification code of your device. You can lose it sometimes only flashing via ODIN a NEW UPDATE.
2. KNOX isn't important in some countries coz maybe you get your device to one service center and they fix your phone anyway. Depend where you live: you will be out of warranty or no, simply. The people that want "play" (apply mods, flash custom roms, custom recoveries) with their devices don't care about KNOX anymore.

I tripped knox 3 months after I bought my device brand new. And many other people have done so.
Somebody said that if you live in the EU and trip knox, this will not void any of your consumer rights.
He also said that: Samsung stated that if you live in the Netherlands, tripping knox will never void your warranty.

Root for my device? Disabling Knox?

I want to root my edge +
Can i root it without worry about the knox?
Is there a way to disable the knox?
Can you put here a link of how to do a root? Is there an app that will do it? Im affraid of demaging the device..
Here is my device details:
Hi there,
Follow this guide to the letter http://forum.xda-developers.com/s6-...-to-rooting-flashing-custom-recovery-t3200324
You WILL TRIP KNOX and, currently, there is no workaround. Even if you flash a stock ROM with Odin, KNOX Warranty void WILL BE = 1.
You will loose samsung pay and most apps that check for root, like snapchat.
