There ia any chance i can install on my stock rooted s5 some of these features ?call recorder..xposed
Sent from my SM-G900F using XDA Free mobile app
Xposed framework can be installed just by getting the apk and installing it.
Call recording I believe there is a way, it would a bit long
though flashing phoneix ROM (or many other stock based ROMs) would give you a lot of features including these.

Does anyone know of such a ROM that I can have root, download, deodex, and debloat (but no mods) for the SGH-I337? I'd like to run a pure stock rooted ROM without bloat. I do not want the modded (black) apps with the messaging and etc. Just the full on debloated stock experience with root privileges. No, I do not want a competition with whatever ROM is best as I do not intend to start an argument about it. So, in that case, does anyone have suggestions or the link to another XDA thread? Also, please make sure that it's latest stock for AT&T. Thanks everyone!

Ya could try this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2364635 however how you flash it will depend on what firmware your running now. If your mdf then refer to the safestrap threads for proper flsshing procedures and if yur mdl then follow loki directions. Hope this helps

I've been using MDOB for a month or so and it is great. Great battery life, smooth, debloated stock, excellent support -- a great ROM. -- Bud
Let me tell ya I have owned hd2, gs2, gs3, gs4, nexus s , nexus 4,atrix hd,transformer 300tf, galaxy tab 2 7.0 galaxy tab 2 10.1, nexus 7, note 2 ,note 10.1, and note 8.0.
I always go for stock based ROMs for stability. For I instal tons of apps that I get issues one after another on custom. I try ROMs after another update after another. This was like a routine which could be enjoyable but annoying sometimes for ur times limited.
With I337, I tried one ROM and I felt no need or urge to flash or even try another. I just could not find flaws or problem with this one.
Which ROM is this?
MDOB!
Bloat free based on stock and has all features I need. Give it a try. Make sure u follow devs guide on installation though for best possible experience!

Thank you so much BTW, should've thanked you sooner. Flashed MDOB and have been running it for about four days now. Very stable, has those white stock apps, and is absolutely amazing while also running stock kernel. Thanks so much!

I am so glad it has been working great for ya. I really wish other android devices that I use also had ROMs like MDOB.
Those add-ons listed on devs post for MDOB also work great as well for they are usually stock/hidden features. For example, torch light is from hidden stock menu and addon will unlock and enable it for you. Addon like in call recording is not an external third party app but it is like unlocking call recording menu within the stock dial/call pad which comes in very handy and convenient. If you have questions then the dev will try to help you promptly. I had minor issues but it was because I did not know how to use the features on ROM correctly. Of coarse the dev tried to help me find solutions along the way. He' s just a great guy and I feel lucky to have him here on gs4 community.

Was about to post same question!
Hi there,
Thanks for this thread and the answers. I was searching for exactly this topic.
I would like to try the MDOB ROM, as it sounds like what I am looking for.
The current MDOB ROM is based on the *MF3 firmware. Is this an issue? I am reading about the AT&T bootloader lock and loki fix that was added in to MF3, plus other custom ROMs that list either a broken sound or broken Wi-Fi as a known issue with MF3.
Are these issues fixed in this ROM (and how?) I don't want to loose TWRP and/or WiFi.
Thanks for any clarification,
Gemini420
MDOB is based on the lastest stock MF3 however it would not give u problems that you would face from updating to notorious MF3 stock.
If I am not mistaken you are supposed to have UCUAMDL stock rooted with custom recovery twrp (preferably i337 version listed on the MDOB page) prior to flashing MDOB.
Check out installation or flashing instruction on the MDOB for more info. The dev points to several things you should watch out for. I just followed the guide and my phone has been running pefectly ever since. Well I wish u Good luck.
Edit: Though I never had any issues with custom recovery and wifi, you might wanna ask there and see if such issues exist on MDOB.

If you look in the MDOB thread you can flash philz recovery. It's like a super CWM recovery...kinda..sorta lol. That's what iB4STiD recommends.
I'm interested in flashing the Google Play Edition Rom to my Galaxy S4 I9505.
The walk throughs seem simple enough.
I've noticed that you need to root your phone it install the roms. After install is it possible to Unroot your device once your running the GPE rom? As I know some apps such as banking apps don't run on rooted devices.
Thanks

If you need to lock ur phone back I mean unroot
Just use triangle away app then flash the stock odin version of your phone with specific region.
And you can get it from sammobile

You don't necessarily have to run stock to run "unrooted", because even some custom ROMs come without superuser priviledges. If you're talking about a specific ROM that comes stock rooted (which most are), then you might be able to get by if you simply disallow root access to that specific program. Otherwise, there are apps like Hide My Root which are supposed to help you do what you're trying to accomplish. If I were you, I would set it up and try it out on the actual program(s) you're worried about. It would be a shame to stay on stock just because you weren't sure if it would work.
You can temporarily unroot your device using super user app itself.. check it out in settings
Thanks a lot for all of the replies, you've been a great help.
I've not got round to rooting or flashing the GPE rom yet might do it this week.
This is my 1st time doing this so a little uncertain on some little things.
I know about uprooting, getting TWRP running, using Odin, then flashing the ROM. but just read that the ROM needs a new modem file flashing. Can you do this through TWRP or as I'm thinking do it through Odin after I've got the ROM up and running?
Thanks again for all your responses guys, been a great help

I just came from an HTC Rezound with Tachyon mod (CM10.2) that had Privacy Guard which I loved very much.
My new Verizon LG G2 has 4.2.2. Apparently Android 4.2.2 doesn't allow the App Ops type apps or functionality. This is too bad. I think it's important that we be able to manage permissions of apps.
Is there any way around this OTHER THAN installing a custom ROM? I am rooted, but prefer not to install a custom ROM just yet.
Well I would just say to try te apps ops xposed module but app ops was implemented with android 4.3 so maybe there's an app on play store that could help

I've looked at several "permission managers" at the store, but none of them seem to have the functionality that I'm hoping for.
Oh well, thanks for the reply though.
Cloudyfa's CloudyStock 1.3 contains a feature I really like ported from the G2 pro, MiniView. But since I don't have time to flash custom roms and play around with backups, has anyone taken this feature out of the rom and turned it into a flashable feature (such as the Xdabbeb's enhanced camera or multiwindow)? If it has not been done yet, can anyone tell me if it is feasable and/or how to do it?

I'm petty sure it could be made into a mod that can be flashed and best way to do is to ask cloudyfa what are the needed files and what needs to be modified or ask cloudy if he plans on doing so in the near future

Looking for a TWRP flashable Stock OF1 5.0 rom for 900V?
Odin isn't available to me working on the road without a laptop for a fee weeks.
Currently running Teamsek CM13.0 6.0 I like it but bluetooth calls and Camera both still have some big bugs I need to revert back. Luckily I did make back-ups using TWRP but those sometimes fail and would like to try with maybe a stock version that's been odexed or debloated?

From what I seen @donc113 I would still need to Odin the modem?
Or am i wrong?
This Teamasek CM13 im currently running now is so so close to being a daily driver. Just a couple things are killing the vibe 1 being camera is temperamental. 2 bluetooth instability
Other than that it absolutely rocks!

@donc113 you on developer edition also after unlock?
And are you running the Lean Kernel?
Installed lean kernel with Jasmine as suggested on intial flash working like a charm definitely better than stock 5.0 with features recorder built in, with SU and Hotspot work around, no more need for Foxfi I'm digging it!
Thanks for the suggestion Donc was hesitant of Jasmine on my Note 3 because of the troubles it was to get on my Note 2 when multisystem needed to be used etc.
So yeah any 900v user using stock with TWRP definitely flash jasmine w/lean kernel is working solid!
Still looking forward to new release of CM 13 just cause its so pretty! hope development continues, amazing to see the activity for Roms on the HLTE but not HLTEVZW would love to see more for us now that flashing is back ?

I'm also on the trader418 CM13 6.0 and I haven't had any issues with the camera at all...none that I've noticed yet. I've also used different cameras and all seem fine to me taking pictures and recording video....Google Camera, stock Cyanogenmod camera, Manual Camera, Camera FV-5, and Open Camera. The only time I've noticed any issues is when recording in 4k..it's very stuttery and a waste of time to even attempt a recording in 4k. Just curious, what issues do you have with the camera and which camera app(s) specifically?

Using stock camera app. Was very slugish when it did work. Say I'd take a picture in messenger or any other app than try to goto the camera app from the app drawer I was getting force closes and popups saying camera is currently in use or unavailable. Then eventually get the camera has crashed would you like to wait, report or close. I'd need to do a device restart to use camera.
Maybe it was just me that experienced it. I should have maybe tried another clean install. But I also had Bluetooth troubles devices wouldn't connect twice. I had to unpair and repair whenever I was using bluetooth headset or vehicle. And mentally and I was ready to revert back or try something else. But you saying this makes me want to give it another go. But I'll wait after spending all afternoon setting Jasmine up to my likes.

Yes, unlocked (developer). I am using idle kernel.. Which is an offshoot of lean kernel (3.4.111) for me, it gets me a little better battery life, maybe 15 to 20 minutes extra before I need to charge.
