When i choose a picture as a wallpaper, it onli appears in the middle of the screen. It doesnt appear on the top bar (the start menu area) or the bottom bar (near softkeys).
what i wanna do is make the picture fit the entire screen, or at least make the bars opaque-ish so i can see the picture. I think the pictures will look much much better that way. Is there any way to do this?

Click to collapse
try editing the picture with paint (or similar) to size 240x320.
if that doesn't help, i've no idea what else to do.

Hi,
Top Bar is the essential on today screen cuz it show many notifications, time etc. So what i was thinking is that somebody make a program to transparent the whole top Bar or atleast it can change with the full screen wallpaper. It means the whole today can go with the wallpaper.
Hoping to see programmer put a hand in making it.
Thanks
And also a program for resizing the top bar would be cool.
nobody wants to even try...
i gaurantee this will be the most useful plugin for ppc user...
somebody should try to make it, cuz im not a prgrammer
Come on you programming gurus..
you had a full 5 hours to do this and no one has done it...
Were you guys sleeping or something?
I currently use VJTOGGLETODAY. Not sure where I got it from but if you do some diggin' I am sure you can find it. you can also look into wisbar adv. as it lets you configure your start button.
SoBBie
this is already possible - transparent bars are part of the theme.
search for home screen designer and have a play
VJ toggle today cannot do that thing and home screen designer is for smart phone only.
I know it is not exactly what your looking for, but here is what I did:
I use WA3, and in the theme I use, I took the top bar image and exchanged it with am image I made by taking my current wallpaper image, and copying the top part (same height as the top bar image in the theme), and named it the same name the top bar image had in the theme I use.
(Sorry if it got too wordy)
Although it isn't truly 'invisible' it does have the effect I wanted. I will try to post a screenshot later when I get home.
anybody willing to make a program on this...
I moved my Vista Task bar to the vertical right hand side of the screen today and noticed that youtube and BBC videos bennefit greatly from that extra bit of screen height. Yet I actually prefer the task bar to be hoizontal along the bottow of the screen. Decision decisions...
So I would love to hear your thoughts; which Taskbar setting do use/prefer? Horizontal or Vertical? Always On top or hidden?
I guess this is also an oppertunitiy to include a picture of your desktop (fuzzing out anything that is personal of course).
Hi,
For Firefox there is a plug-in called Full Screen that switches it to full screen and back with a small icon (so, no need for F12 key). When I use that it also uses the space normally occupied by the taskbar.
I did have the taskbar at the left-hand-side for a while, but I didn't like it.

I was just reading the latest gossip on Nexus phones. Saw a home screen shot of a page of icons and the icons looked slanted. Then it hit me - instead of swiping from screen to screen, what if the block icons (apps) just appear to individually rotate to the icon in that same position on the next page! Or put another way, the flat icon is actually a four sided box and only one side shows at a time. Swipe and all the boxes rotate to the next side you swipe toward. A widget would seem to rotate and morph into whatever is on the next home screen page!
That might look pretty 'fresh' compared to the current way of screen refresh we now know.?.
Sound promising?
So basically, like a Rubik's cube? Or am I picturing it wrong?
Yep. Looks like the icon of a specific app rotates as it was a cube. Are we right?
So I've looked around for some time for a reasonable method to install Galaxy Labs on my rooted 8+ Galaxy S7 SM-G930, now a '955F' after the 8+ rom install. This rom works very smoothly so far.
Not finding a simple method, I hope someone comes up with one though (?), I went with a simple invisible icon method I've been using for some years for other phones.
The process is pretty simple:
1. Download IconChanger - free on Google Play store.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jy.iconchanger.ad&hl=en
2. Make a 1 pixel x 1 pixel, 72 dpi, transparent gif, and label it something like 'blank.gif' and get it into your phone downloads (SD card) directory.
3. Open up Icon Changer, tap the center of the screen and it will take you to the Applications screen of apps you have installed on your phone.
4. Select the app you wish to make a new icon. The screen will update to the apps icon at the top of the page. Select "Change" and navigate to where you stored the blank.gif. Select that .gif
5. The screen will update, any on my phone it is a white screen. You will not see your transparent gif. Select 'Crop' at the top right of the screen. The page will update back to the initial Icon/Title screen, and you will notice that the icon is transparent, looking like a white and gray checker board. See photo 1 below.
6. Select the title, and if you wish to have a visible title for the Icon, type in what you wish. If you wish no visible title, delete out the text. Press OK at the top right and the icon will take a few seconds to be created and placed on your home screen.
The third image has the transparent icons, in the same place as the original screen shot.
Tip: It will help if you have your home screen and it's next over screen generally filled up with icons at the beginning of this process, leaving several blank rows at the top of one of those screens, the new icon will likely be placed at the top left corner of that, or one of those pages. You can select and place it as you wish. If your home screen and other pages are largely empty, it make take you a bit to hunt and peck to find your icon.
Additionally, a 1 x 1, 72 dpi pixel size icon is very small. Unless you really expand it in a photo editor, you will not 'see' it.
