Short answer - basically you can't.
You need a custom recovery and installing one of those trips knox.
On Note 3 it was possible to flash with Mobile Odin Pro but I don't think it has been updated for Note4. Though I could be wrong

Many people would like to know that. Probably only Samsung can do it at this time.

Lol, did you do any research before flashing
How could you not know this? I believe it even says that replacing the stock recovery will trip Knox ON THE RDV THREAD....
This has been known for a long time lol
You got mixed up with root and custom recovery, root de la vega wobt trip knox, but since u wanted a custom recovery to flash roms/ kernels u pay the price of tripping knox. Hopefully a dev finds a way to reset knox 0x-0x.

Hi everyone. I just bought my SGS4 today (i9505) and I want to know how to proceed before messing around. I searched a lot on the forums and on the internet but I can't figure out what to do.
I'm currently on 4.2.2 and I'd like to flash a custom rom without voiding the knox counter. How should I do?
Thanks in advance

Ok so.. Before rooting with Towelroot, should I upgrade to the latest available firmware? Also, once I want to go back to stock, how should I do?

Sry I've read you are on Version 4.4.2. My mistake.
So you currently run Android 4.2.2. Do you have the Knox bootloader already? It is inverted to all firmware builds MGG or higher.
When you don't have the Knox bootloader you can flash everything you want to and you are still able to reset the counter with triangle away.
When you are on the new Knox bootloader i would recommend you to upgrade to the latest Android version and then use the link I posted.

My build version ends with UDMGG so I believe I have knox. Before updating.. is it possible to revert to stock (for warranty pourposes) with the method you linked me?

You can mess around by safely using custom roms without tripping knox to.
The i9505 supports that too.

What would I have to do in order to revert to stock? That's my question. Sorry if it wasn't clear before.

Just flash stock rom via and youre done.
But remember once knox is tripped (0x1) you cannot make it okay.
That is why I said you can safely "mess around" with your i9505 by flashing custom roms without tripping knox.

Thank you sir.. Just to clarify: I could use the same method to flash the stock image? If this is correct, could you provide a link to these stock images?
Sorry for being such hesitant, but I don't want to screw up with my warranty. At least, not yet.

Try cutting out the refried beans. Lol, don't think it's possible, flashing a custom recovery in order to install TWRP will trip Knox. Until that's figured out we will have to deal with Knox.

There have been traces where you COULD avoid tripping KNOX on the N900W8 mexican, there have been reports on my thread and N900W8 threads where Mexican users flashed nicely.

Do you know this for sure? I have custom recovery on my Canadian N900W8 and KNOX is 0x0. With custom kernel and custom ROM.
Learn the hardware before you post a definitive answer.

First of all, I believe, most of the people using XDA forums possess enough eyesight to view things in normal font. (and if not, there are numerous tools available to help them read or even listen to what is written). So you don't need to make your writing so big and bold that looks harsh. If you want to emphasize, you can use emoticons/smilies (that is what they are meant for). I don't want to be rude but to keep this platform clean and nice is OUR responsibility. Hope you don't mind.
As for as your problem, I think you have to flash back the stock recovery and (even the stock rom if the problem persists). Do some more research before taking any step or wait for solutions from experts. I believe guys will see your post soon
Best of luck :good:
Ohhhh hmm i understood. Waiting for reply. Thank you

Rooting or Installing Custom Recovery = Knox 0x1. There's nothing you can do about it. You cannot change it back to 0x0. It is permanent. No more warranty.
For the error you need to disable knox. Read here on how to disable knox.

Thanks for valueable reply. i tried that non rooted method. But the problem still persists.
So now i lost my warranty.... then should i root my device or not. I think it doesnt matter... right ?

As much as I know for now, the knox once tripped is impossible to recover. May be there is some hardware switch thing associated with it. Anyhow, I think it does not make much difference because knox can only be a problem if you ever want to reclaim your warranty or re-sale the device. In my case, I am 99% sure that the device is working perfect to my needs and I don't have to claim the warranty or resale it within the warranty period. So if you don't have to claim warranty and also you don't want to re-sale, tripped knox is nothing to worry about
best of luck :good:

When you flash official Samsung Rom then nothing happens, only when you Flash a Custom Rom/TWRP or when you planning to Root then you will trip Knox.
