Knox counter 0x1 :( - Galaxy Grand Prime Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone,
I have just one month old galaxy grand prime SM G530H.
i have not rooted my device, and recently installed philz touch recovery 6 on my device using odin but it flagged my knox counter to to 0x1.
That means my warranty is lost. can anyone help me?
I am frequently getting this error, that unauthorized actions has been detected.
Please anyone consider this.. Thanks.

First of all, I believe, most of the people using XDA forums possess enough eyesight to view things in normal font. (and if not, there are numerous tools available to help them read or even listen to what is written). So you don't need to make your writing so big and bold that looks harsh. If you want to emphasize, you can use emoticons/smilies (that is what they are meant for). I don't want to be rude but to keep this platform clean and nice is OUR responsibility. Hope you don't mind.
As for as your problem, I think you have to flash back the stock recovery and (even the stock rom if the problem persists). Do some more research before taking any step or wait for solutions from experts. I believe guys will see your post soon
Best of luck :good:

Ohhhh hmm i understood. Waiting for reply. Thank you

Rooting or Installing Custom Recovery = Knox 0x1. There's nothing you can do about it. You cannot change it back to 0x0. It is permanent. No more warranty.
For the error you need to disable knox. Read here on how to disable knox.

Thanks for valueable reply. i tried that non rooted method. But the problem still persists.
So now i lost my warranty.... then should i root my device or not. I think it doesnt matter... right ?

As much as I know for now, the knox once tripped is impossible to recover. May be there is some hardware switch thing associated with it. Anyhow, I think it does not make much difference because knox can only be a problem if you ever want to reclaim your warranty or re-sale the device. In my case, I am 99% sure that the device is working perfect to my needs and I don't have to claim the warranty or resale it within the warranty period. So if you don't have to claim warranty and also you don't want to re-sale, tripped knox is nothing to worry about
best of luck :good:

[Q] Root and KNOX

Hello,
I updated my Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9005 with KIES to XXUDMJ7 and right after that I rooted it before activating KNOX on my phone.
After that I wanted to start using KNOX so I clicked the app icon in order to activate it and filled the password to start, but then I got an alert meesage saying that my phone has been changed so KNOX can not be used.
I do want to use KNOX because it seems a nice to have feature to protect my sensetive data.
Can anyone PLEASE help me what can I do in order to enjoy a rooted device and KNOX together ?
Looks like u tripped the knox counter by rooting

Not what was asked... Knox is a program that separates Android into 2 sections, the insecure one that we use rooted and a secure version that stops all apps from doing ANYTHIG that could give out our data. Photo's taken while using the Knox security feature wil only be available in the Knox section.
No, you can't use Knox after rooting as you have now opened up the system to questionable apps unapproved by Samsung...
There is no way I have seen to spoof the system to allow use of Knox security app and have a rooted phone....
Just to know

1) No, Knox stop working, that's all
2) It seems that no with the last firmware ... On our Note 3 with the old bootloader you can root with "Root de la vega" and enjoy Knox... With some S4 that's the same.

My previous firmware was XXUDMJ4 and I had problems with the S-pen, so I updated it to XXUDMJ7.
Can you please tell me what is this update ?
The only reason I rooted my phone is to use "Tasker" and "Greenify" apps.
don't know the change log for the MJ7 update... But i know that with MJ7 (and also MJ5) you have the new bootloader ...

i'm sorry, i want to ask something.
how to root galaxy s4 without tripped knox?

Root
You can't root your phone I9500DXUEMJ5 without tripped knox.
In fact, there is only one solution : use Kingo root app.
But... XDA does not approve this app because it seems send data to China when you try to root your phone with this tool.
Sorry for my english, I hope you understand what I wanted to say.

[Q] Consequences of rooting Note 3?

I know that if I root my Note 3, that will trip Knox. Personally I am prepared to risk that. But reading odd bits here and there I have heard mention of e-fuse?
And that this can mess up the hardware?
Is that correct? And what triggers it?

Nothing will affect your hardware, rooted my phone in the first day.
Just read root/rom threads for your device carefully and follow all instructions to avoid any hard or soft brick.

Also rooted my Note 3 the first day. Tripped knox and never looked back. I would also suggest to root using cf-autoroot via Odin mode. Just search for it in the forums. Worked for me every time. Also if you like to install custom ROM so that you can use your Note 3 to its full potential.
Use kingo root it will not trigger knox. But you cant flash a custom recovery that will trigger knox. But rooting with kingo you can still mod your phone to the fullest.

Rooting SGS4

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am really confused as always I used to find the thread for rooting my SGS4 but with the new firmware upgrade (Russia region), I can not find how to root it, and I am not upgrading it as it is important for me. Specification I am attaching (from similar updraded phone already) .
it should be PDA: I9500XXUFNF4CSC: I9500SERFNE3 MODEM: I9500XXUFNA6 (I can only find with PDA I9500XXUFNB4 in this site).
I would certainly appreciate your guidance in this matter, as only after being sure I had the needed .tar and odin, as I always root it with ODIN being the simplest and safest way, I always upgrade via KIES.
I was directed to post here.
Thank You in advance
Just use the normal rooting.
cf auto root or towelroot.

knox flag 0x1 is a e-fuse which burns out after the software is mofidied... there is no way known of setting it back to 0x0.
Here in Poland, there was a discussion about knox flag 0x1 and warrinty with Samsung officials, as the flag is also triggered when trying to downgrade your original firmware, example from 4.4.1 to 4.3.... and on tweeter Samsung Poland stated that the warranty is not lost when the flag is 0x1.. but is better to have it untouched...
Thank you for the explanatiom as such it means it does not harm the phone or prevent future upgrades? If so I prefer to root as I had done before. I have no intention of downgrading but surely would like to continue upgrading. I always use my rooted phone with Knox frozen

Will it effect Knox tripping for the future updates? Besides warranty voiding does it have any other repercussions?

It will only affect your ability to downgrade......you won't be able to with official firmware. Upgrading is still possible and the Knox flag being triggered will not affect you upgrading but will never re-set the trigger.

Sry I've read you are on Version 4.4.2. My mistake.
So you currently run Android 4.2.2. Do you have the Knox bootloader already? It is inverted to all firmware builds MGG or higher.
When you don't have the Knox bootloader you can flash everything you want to and you are still able to reset the counter with triangle away.
When you are on the new Knox bootloader i would recommend you to upgrade to the latest Android version and then use the link I posted.
