If it does not appear on screenshot then there are probably two alternatives. It is either in screen protector assuming you have one or in display glass. If it is on screen protector you can just replace it. Replacing glass is then more expensive. If it is new phone and it is on glass then just replace it with guarantee.

Try the LCD test after *#0*# (in the Samsung dialer) - if it is burn-in it will probably be most visible on blue.

the front panel only ?
i was looking at ebay and i found this
http://www.ebay.com/itm/LCD-Touch-S...985?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4169ade3e1
is it possible to replace the front panel only of the screen ?
i honestly do NOT want to change the screen it self. as its dead pixel free, blotches free "those blank inks u can see on dark backgrounds when the the lights are off etc"
what are my options ? and yeah i get the screen protector option. i mean as a replacment.
its not a really big scratch or anything. its very tiny on the white side of the front face area
I wouldn't even bother mate. Personally I'm of the opinion that once my phone has a scratch or two, or a ding in the casing I'm less precious about it and can get on with life. A tiny scratch isn't going to change your life. Wrecking your phone trying to replace the glass might just give you a bad headache though :banghead:

I have one litle scratch too mate!
I don't mind though...(my S1 was wayyy more durable than the S3... )
When a few more stack up and it starts bothering me then i'll change the front glass and get a proper screen protector...
maybe you two are right. but i just want to know if its possible to change the front screen without changing the inside screen just like the link mentioned.
like is there a tutorial etc. ?

it is possible, but extremely difficult. You are more likely to end up breaking than fixing.

Yes its possible. There are a few guys in this forum who have posted full videos. Be prepared to squirm like a worm when you see it done. Scary stuff. A true test of patience. HIGH RISK though of wrecking the amoled layer. Good luck.:good:

Hello, I recently bought a nexus 7 and in general I'm pretty pleased with it. However, just today which is about 4days after purchase I realized that my screen has little diamonds that were visible at a certain angle and most obvious when the screen is off. My question is whether this behavior is normal and whether I should take it for repair since it's still under warranty. It's not rooted and there isn't a screen protector for more information. Thanks.
Edit : diamonds are 5mm each

Under certain light conditions there appears to be marks in the glass and it's all diamonds tesselated together. A photo doesn't show anything but ill be uploading one in a while
I've never noticed anything like that.

Doesn't show any of the diamond-ing I saw but here it is. I could only see it when there were many lights around and only when viewing at an certain angle.
Edit : Forgot attachment
i dont think images will allow us to see the problem, maybe even point them out with a stylus ,you could use a phone to make a video panning around views, to clearly display the problem and youtube it here :good:
yes this is normal..... no worries.. new screens usually have this
you only get to see them under certain life conditions and I'm pretty sure these will fade away with wear & tear.. I used to see them when I bought my N7.... not anymore today... enjoy them

Alright. Thanks for the info.
I think you're just seeing the digitizer.. Pretty normal to see it under certain conditions. Mainly with the screen off though. You shouldnt really see anything with the screen on.
I noticed a small snowflake type spot on the notification bar. I was wondering if that was one of the sensors or something inside my lcd ? It doesn't
look like a dead spot on the screen. Does anyone else have this ?

Yeah definitely do that.. If its something in the status bar it should show up in a screenshot so it does sound like possibly a cluster of bad pixels but without a pic its hard to tell

If you are refering to the circle spot at the top left of your phone, I'm pretty sure its a sensor of some sort. I too have that, not visible like the others however, i have to be in bright light to be able to see it.

Here's a photo of the spot I'm talking about. It's hard to capture on camera but you can see it. Up close it looks almost like a snowflake. There's no scratch on the glass no dead pixels. I even used the dead pixel check app and on a pure white screen it there is no black pixels under it. That's why I'm wondering if it's one of the sensors built into the phone. When I have looked up the specs on the S4 nowhere do I see this mentioned as a sensor location.

As far as I know there aren't any sensors in the LCD... They're all above it.. If I had to guess I would say its a small spot of delamination.. The glass and digitizer are glued together on these phones as far as I know and it looks like it might be a weak spot of glue or an air pocket between the screen and digitizer

That looks like some sort of defect in the screen.
I haven't seen anyone else have that issue.. could it be that its dust caught between your screen protector and your phone?
That's definately not what I was referring to. Unfortunately it looks like you have some sort of digitizer or lcd defect.
There are no sensors in the screen. From the picture I would say it is dust. Either dust under your screen protector or inside the phone. An LCD can really only have dead pixels.
Hi all.
I want to ask some question because I'm not sure if this is normal or not.
I have see four edge+ for now and all of them have the same issue.
On sunlight and only there with full white font or some other very light color and max brightness
you can see some darker marks on the screen like humidity. But it's not easy to located.
Some guy replace the phone with new other and again have the same issue.
I know the edge screen is very soft and particular. But this you can see only with sunlight. With normal daylight or led or other situation there seems absolutely nothing.
Your opinion will be useful for me.
Thanks.
Anyone to try it?
OK guys.
It's so hard to see anyone if this issue is exist on s6 edge+ display.?
Please?
I've already replaced my first Edge Plus for that reason.
The second one came with the same problem
The strange thing is that both phones have same DOM: 23/09
Maybe a faulty batch? Could you tell me your phone's DOM?
Regards,
PuSHtU.

Actually now that I remember mt galaxy s5 had a similiar issue. There were like circular
Dark spots maybe 5-6 of them in different areas of the screen under the glass. I always figured they were air bubbles.
Anyway, if you can only see them when the screen is off then its no problem.
But if they obstruct your view of the display then get it replaced again!

I see on the first day, but a read is a normal issue... I use the phone is sun light 1 time per month, that is why I don't take to warranty.... have a lot of thins positive for 1 bug a don't gone to change the phone. But you can take to warranty if you want mate.
I understand but why do this.
Is normal or not. And how many is out there with the same issue?
On simple edge doesn't see darker marks or lines but the screen is smaller.
Saw this today. Kinda strange... but i saw it only when was applying screen protector and before that i turned off screen and was looking for stucked dust. But saw strange marks... My phone manufactured 2015.09.04. I don't see anything when screen is on so this is not a problem.

Try to see on sunlight with white font and full brightness.
Maybe there you see more.
Anyone other with this?
It's not a "defect", all of them have this. It's when direct sunlight allows you to see the actual structure underneath the screen. Don't bother replacing the phone, because they all have it. It's just the way it's designed.
I have see this on many s6 edge plus and only under the sunlight.
I believe is the same issue.
Is that normally.?
Same here. I see marks and lines on the edges and dark spots on the right half of the screen, similar to the pictures you posted. It's annoying when there is a white background, like in whatsapp chat list or Facebook messenger. I know it's there and my eyes go there. But it's true that this happens outdoors only, under sunlight. Are all like this?
Maybe the screen is thin and you can actually see some parts of the phone underneath like a see-through? Maybe this is normal after all.
I have these 2 very light yellow areas on my screen.
Here's the interesting part, they don't show up on screen shots. They also appear to be getting brighter.
A new screen is probably the only fix. But I'm curious of the cause. Any ideas?
I have included a sample of the issue.

Did you draw that in paint on a screenshot or take a picture of your phone?
If they are hot spots (bright white dots) then they are part of the screen and a new screen is the only issue.

My first buy had similar problems. I exchanged in a store for another.
There were lots of defective screens in Poland.
Factory reset can help for few days.

I drew that because they do not appear on screen shots. Could the color be between the LCD and the digitizer?

The colour is because of a ****ty screen. @acejavelin mentioned in another thread that they are caused by compression for some reason. Don't know how that happens. Like @dzidexx said another screen is the only thing which can solve it. Or deal with it, I do not know how bad it is sorry

Defect rather looks like "Lights behind the closed door".
Do a black photo or jpg file. Look at it with different levels of brightness.
Sometimes it can be observed with other colours.

The last two pics are it exactly. Even though its a little annoying, I still love this phone!! Its the only issue I've had and I use it a lot. For everything. Between flashing, modding and every one of my boot animations has been made on this beast!
And thanks for all the input on this issue everyone.
And sorry to all those who suffer as I do with this affliction. Just kidding.

Hardware !! Read the thread and you'll see it has been made clear it is hardware.
I have the same issue. If I press on the bezel next to the yellow area with my fingers the colors go back to normal until I release. Could this be caused by the screws inside being too tight?
I would disassemble my phone and try to unscrew them a bit but since the back cover is glued I'd rather not unless I'm sure that's it.
