I have a VS980 and I have an issue where I cannot get it to do anything. I spent all kinds of time looking through forum after forum to find an answer. Nothing has helped. The problem:
I try to get into Download Mode and I get the LG Security Error message and reboots and repeats. I plug in the USB cable without touching any buttons it powers up and loops. Going into recovery only gets me to the LG Rooted Hard Reset and nothing else.
I am at a loss as to what to do now. I see there are threads that say that it is easy to get the Security Error fixed but it requires the LG Support Tool but that tool does not recognize my phone cause it is constantly booting. Other threads tell me to get it into download mode but I get the security error and reboots. I can no longer get into fastboot. And I don't have a custom recovery that I can get into it seems.
I can power the phone off by holding down the power key and letting it reboot a couple of times and it turns off. Nothing else seems to work.
Any ideas?

Got a brand new vs980 from Verizon with stock OTA 24A on it. I rooted and then used the KITKAT 24A OTA FREEDOM file from this thread to try and install TWRP 2.7. It ran, asked me if I wanted to boot into recovery. I chose yes. It appeared to have worked fine. However, now my phone just gives me the ERROR: boot certification verify screen. I've tried to get into download mode, but it never makes it past the first screen (dots). It never makes it to the screen with the progress meter and the usb icon. It seems to be properly bricked. Is this thread my only hope?
C'mon guys, this is a crisis. On my way to work this morning i had to listen to the radio! Like, with commercials and stuff.
Any luck? My phone is doing the exact same thing. I can't get into download mode or fast boot. The LG sign pops up, the error flashes for less than a second in the upper left hand corner then the screen goes blank and does nothing else until I hold the power button for 10 seconds or power button + volume down key, then it just repeats the LG sign and message all over again. We're screwed brotha
Hello all,
As fate would have it, the day of me getting my new G5, my G2 went in to a boot loop before I could transfer my data.
I'm desperate to get the data back if possible. Below are the details.
Phone went in to boot loop, then would not turn on. I have tried periodically to turn on the phone, but it will not boot. It will loop at the LG screen and occasionally the Sprint screen. It intermittently charges when connected to power. Today, I hooked up it up to a PC and powered on and got the Demigod screen. Loaded dload mode, but the drivers didn't install. On reboot I got the LG screen with a security error and now it won't power up again.
Any suggestions? Seems like it may be hardware related.

Doesn't TWRP have to been installed when rooting a device? This device is not rooted.

Hello everyone,
It's the second time I have a problem with my LG Spirit but now I seem unable to do anything
About month ago my LG was getting stuck on LG loading animation but then I managed to flash it via Download Mode and LG Flash Tool. Everything went fine and the phone was operational till today.
After battery had gone flat I plugged it to recharge but "Security Error" occured.
While plugged in it constantly shows the error message and reboots again and again.
Of course, I tried flashing via Download Mode but in vain. Although Download Mode shows up, a message "Secure booting error. Cause: Boot certification verify." appears, the screen blinks in blue colour and turns off.
Any PC with any USB wire recognizes the LG. Debugging mode is switched on, but no modifications such as TWRP, etc. were ever made.
I also managed to restore default settings, but with no results.
Any ideas what to do?
Thanks in advance
I saw this thread earlier, maybe it can help you?

TL;DR it's bootlooping, and I can't enter download mode.
My V20 H910 hasn't been touched for a couple years now. It started bootlooping years ago, and it's only now that I'm trying so hard to fix it. When I try to boot it, I get the LG screen for a few seconds, then it goes all black, and then it repeats until I pull the battery.
I can navigate to the screen to initiate a factory reset, but when I confirm, it freezes up for a moment and then goes back to the boot loop.
When I plug it in to initiate download mode, I get the screen that says it's trying to start download mode for a couple seconds, and then it goes back to the boot loop. I tried launching LGUP during this two second period, and unsurprisingly, it does not see the phone.
I've tried putting it in the freezer, and I've tried using a different battery. I tried "discharging the capacitors on the motherboard" by removing the battery and pressing the power button fifteen times. This causes it to vibrate briefly when I attempt to power it on, but then it bootloops as normal.
It's totally stock Oreo - no root, no custom ROMs, no TWRP, no unlocked bootloader. I might have enabled USB debugging, but that doesn't do me much good when it won't boot (yes, I tried ADB anyways, and no, it doesn't see it).
I did use third party USB cables to charge it back when it worked, so I am aware that this may just be a faulty motherboard. But I'm hoping there's another option I haven't pursued yet.
What do you think? Is it a brick? I've spent all day searching for potential fixes, so any help is appreciated!
I have an HTC U Ultra and it suddenly froze last night. Upon rebooting it, it started until the HTC logo screen and then shut down. I tried several times but got the same results. As a last hope I tried going into the Recovery by holding volume button and power but the same thing happens here as well, HTC logo pops up ( a different logo, this one has a reflection under the HTC text, which means the phone did try to access it) but then it shuts down again. Since I cannot access the Recovery I cannot know what is going on. Kindly help me out in finding how I can access recovery mode or any other workaround.
I cannot use ADB either as it would need an opened phone with debugging enabled. Kindly help me out.
