Coming from my old Sony Ultra Z, my new Nexus 6 feels small now This is a good thing though. The Ultra Z was a great phone but it was a bit big sometimes. I think the Nexus 6 is the perfect size!
Please tell us how you like it. Also let us know how the battery life is?
The Z4 Ultra should be interesting come 2015....
And I was considering returning my nexus 6 because of the size.

My guess will be the nexus 6 because the sony has a bigger screen size and smaller battery.

I decided not to buy it because of size, etc. after trying a T-Mobile store Nexus6... Will check out the Z4 or M9 s810 models next year.

I couldn't use it for more than 3 hours. Switched to adw launcher ex. Much better.
ps. My nexus s feels faster to be honest.

Kind of off topic but since I have a Nexus S I was hoping you could give your opinions on the screens. Which is brighter when full white (google.com for example)? I assume the NS has blacker blacks... is the extra resolution worth giving up the blacks? =)

I think nexus a bit brighter but warmer too. Atrix looks more natural. I snapped 2 pics using a evo ... the pic shows ns screen to bluish. Not like that !
NS amoled rules bro.
Atrix on the left

Amen I will not use this over my nexus s and the super amloed screen kills the qhd. Some other guy just said the same thing lol that's funny

The only thing keeping me away form the Atrix is Motorblur and locked bootloader...

agreed. and the nexus S is likely just a lot smoother since the UI takes advantage of the GPU. A new feature to 2.3...
Oh good, another NS owner. How is the battery life compared to the NS? Did the phone feel a bit sluggish even after you made ADW your default launcher?
Updated to 4.2.1 with new 32 gig nexus 7. I've heard lots of people have been getting bad battery life with 4.2.1 update. Is mine good or bad? Attached screenshot.
Thanks

It really depends on your screen on time. I'd say getting 5-7 hours of screen on time would be considered good battery life.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
I personally wouldn't consider that good battery life, however I'm spoiled in a sense. I never kept my tablet stock, modded from day 1. But I'm sitting at 85% right now with 4hrs screen on browsing web and xda and it was fresh off the charger. I also get over a week of standby time when it sits.

Yes which ROM and kernel are you using? 4.2.1 seems to have bad battery life. Mine is just rooted

I have a chance to trade a nexus 4 for a xperia z. I would like anyone that has had both phones to let me know what would be the better choice. I do like flashing roms at times but don't do it a lot but do take a lot of pics and videos. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks to all who reply.
That's like asking Key lime pie early or next year.

The only feature Xperia Z has is the Waterproof and Dustproof feature..
I had a handson Xperia Z its not that good. I am not being biased but to be true N4 is way better than Xperia Z.
Nexus 4 beats Xperia Z in all other cases..
Go for N4.:good:

I don't have a n4 but I recently bought my wife the xperia z. It's cool, looks nice, and water resistant. It has a pretty nice screen and a nice size. The glass on the sides kinda have that purple blue playstion color. I know they have a purple one, I guess it might be the same color as the sides. Pictures seem a little over saturated though. Definitely like the pure android though. If I had a choice I would get the n4 which I will get in a month

What are talking about you have no ethics.
It is likely that there are only a few users to have both phones,
and since the trolling has already started,
I ask that if you a response for Blueknight730 to use a PM
Also "which is best" comparison threads are not very welcome on XDA.
for futher discussions please find existing threads. There plenty to find.

Android system & android os seem to be draining my battery quite alot. An unusual amount. Anyone have any idea why?

20 Hours at 63 percent? That is outstanding battery time..
I dont see why your complaining.. I get close to 2 days on my battery with average use..
Looks pretty normal to me.. In fact better than most IMO

Check this thread out if youre on 4.4.2 kitkat http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2595158
4.4.2 battery life is terrible
Your battery drain might be due to google play services and other apps running in the background

Maybe change the Topic to " Battery life discussion with Kernels and ROMs". This could help many ppl to choose correct kernel for their ROM

3220mAh, nice.
Loved the Nexus 5. Fast, stable, stock experience.
I wanted the Nexus 6 to alleviate the 3 main issues (to me) of the Nexus 5. Bigger screen, smaller bezels and bigger battery. They accomplished 2 of the 3. Battery will suck on this, as it did the Nexus 5. What's the point of a giant screen powerhouse if it dies by 3 PM?

3220 mAh with Android L and an AMOLED screen should result in pretty solid battery performance.
