[Q] Biometric reader - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Good day , I believe it is possible to use the biometric reader device in question as a touch pad , similar to what happened on devices like the BlackBerry ... using the home button to go up or down pages , this would be impossible ?

Presentation Wizard

Hello,
Last night I had an idea .. and maybe it's interesting to share it but ... maybe software like that already exist ?!
I had the idea of an interface on a ppc to command a Powerpoint presentation. It's must be touch friendly (I've the HTC touch ).
What does that mean ?
1) The PPC will control over BT some emulation like Left arrow or Right arrow and other "shortcuts"
2) The PPC will have an interface with huge buttons to change slides
3) The PPC will have a clock timer or a timeup counter
4) The PPC will vibrate after times that users can define (like each 5 minutes)
The only thing missing for me is a laser
Maybe it already exists ... I Don't know but I think it could be good now that PPC like Touch are small !
(My ideas comes from a telecommande from Logitech and from the ability for SE phone to pilot a computer).
What do you think about it ?
Take a look at Salling Clicker 3.5. It can do most of what your are dreaming of
The vibrate after after some timeout doesn't exist yet in Salling Clicker, but you can request it on their forum. The scripting used in Salling Clicker is very easy, so you can change things and create new things as you like.
Besides controlling PowerPoint, it can also be used for MediaPlayer and iTunes etc + some special functions for incoming calls or locking/unlocking when you are away/near your computer.
It can be used over Bluetooth or over Wifi.
Thank you VOODOOS!L's ! The program that you suggest is ... how can I say it ... perfect !
It was what i was looking for ... it's awesome
I'll use it for my next presentation ... I'm pretty sure that my teacher will say that I'm cheating héhé !

Don't you miss the d-pad ?

Hello all blackstone owners,
I'm currently a Kaiser owner. I'm thinking about going to the Blackstone. But I was wondering if the lack of a D-Pad would not be a problem for me.
For exemple, if I open a file explorer, to browser the files (up and down) I use the D-Pad. So I'm not obliged to use the stylus.
How does it work with the blackstone when you have to browser files, are you obliged to use the stylus ?
Note : the files explorer is just an exemple (I know Resco Explorer can help in browsing with the fingers), I 'm wondering the same question when you need to browser your notes for exemples, or anything else ...
Thanks !
With the Touch HD you can scroll in the file explorer with your finger as well!
Do you mean that you can browser the files using your fingers in the integrated microsoft file explorer ?
Can you also do that with all other applications like "notes" for exemple ?
Thanks
You can't scroll in notes with your finger (it just draws a line where you would like to scroll), but in every other application it works fine.
cursor keys
I solved this with "AE Button Plus" mapped keys.
You see in spanish at this address: http://www.htcmania.com/showthread.php?p=160176
Had a Qtek S100 and a HTC Tytn before my HD and was a big button user
Getting used to all touch on the HD took about 2 hours
So it's fine by me !
Thanks to all of you for your answers, I guess I'll need to try it by myself... But it will take months before I can touch one in a shop...

HTC HD Concerns.

Hi all.
I have been using the phone for around 3months. I upgraded from Nokia E71. Here are some of my concerns.
1. On HTC HD, Opera mini 4.2 doesn't support flash menu on web sites. Why not? Nokia E71 had Opera mini 4.2 and it supports flash menu. I don't use Opera mobile because it's just too darn slow compare to mini.
2. Is there anyway I can turn off automatic pop up on virtual keyboards?
3. Is there any virtual keypads(up, down, left, right only) that stays always on top that I can orientate and position on the screen? I find having no Dpads on this phone pain in the butt, especially if you can't use stylus.
4. Is there anyway I can manually orientate screen? I would want to have it at fixed landscape for everything except when I use Phone functions and Garmin Mobile XT.
Thanks.

[Q] Mobipocket Reader

For several years now and am quite happy with it until now.i just got an htc touch hd2 and found out that there is no way i could map the autoscroll function to a hardware button.another gripe is that the speed of scrolling cannot be controlled anymore.
do you know any fix for it.
This does suck - just like when I was trying to use the s60 version on my omnia hd, cant get into the controlls to turn on auto scroll when in full screen.
I just use word on ym hd2 now and read all my books through that.....
bit of a pain when I soft reset or when I run out battery...
Alreader best of all
I've used alreader ever since I came across it here:

[Q] Injecting fake gestures for non-multitouch devices

I've just downloaded the new Maps on my X10 mini, and am a bit frustrated that Google haven't given any option to change the map tilt on devices that don't support multi-touch.
This got me thinking:
Would it be possible to make an app that monitors certain hardware keys (e.g. the volume up/down keys) and then injects fake multi touch events into the OS? (or whatever app is frontmost?)
Anyone got any experience in doing anything similar?
I think you would need to,root your x10,flash it then install 2.1 on your device 2.1 allows multi touch. Search this forum
Sent from Rooted x10 .
Thanks, but that's not the problem - I've got a X10 mini running 2.1, but the manufacturer has disabled multi touch (even though the hardware supports it)
An update to enable MT is supposingly coming, but it'd be nice to have a way to hack around until it comes (if it ever does)
