Suggest me a screen capture app - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I need a screen capture app that is very simple in that it should capture screen when app is run. Whenever I am doing stuffs in my phone, I quickly capture screen, doodle, crop and share. When I was in Note 3, I was using Air Command Shortcut and I was triggering this from Pie Control (translucent pie with customized links) and then clicking Screen Capture (of Air command), doodle, crop and share. I did all this without using S-Pen. Yes I can use S-Pen, or palm swipe or click Home+Power to capture but these are all cumbersome. Removing S-Pen every single time is tedious. Have to be very precise with palm swipe as page may slightly scroll before screen is captured. Home+Power if not clicked instantaneously ends up activating Home or Power button.
Until Air Command Shortcut gets compatible with Note 4, I want some screen capture app that I can trigger from Pie Control.

gestures on the HD

I assume you know the standard gestures which can be used on the HD. Recently i stumbled over a gesture i never heard/read of. Try this:
Open a picture in album viewer, and choose any object of interest you would like to zoom to. Now draw a (almost complete) circle clockwise around the spot, and it will zoom in. Draw a circle counterclockwise and it will zoom out a bit. Double-tap will zoom out completely (ok no surprise here).
Are there any other secrets? Or is it just me not reading the manual?
Yeah, it was in the manual. But the thing I found out watching video on youtube is this:
open picture, zoom, tap on the screen and hold your finger while you wont see in the upper left corner the box which represent the whole picutre, and now you can move with your finger and with your current zoom you can slide through your picture

It's in the manual. You don't even have to actually 'read' it, you could also just look at the pictures
OMG next time i'll try harder
open picture, zoom, tap on the screen and hold your finger while you wont see in the upper left corner the box which represent the whole picutre, and now you can move with your finger and with your current zoom you can slide through your picture

That's a nice find! Thx bondoer
You really do need to read the manual ~ It's all on Page 212
To zoom in or out of an image
While viewing an image, make a full circle motion on the screen with your finger.
Slide your finger counter-clockwise to zoom out. Slide your finger clockwise on an area to zoom in on that area.
Tips
• When you zoom in on an image, double tap the screen to automatically zoom out and fit the image to the screen.
• When you zoom in on an image, tap and hold the screen so you can pan the image.
• When you zoom in on an image, tap the screen to open the on-screen menu.
On the on-screen menu, tap and then select Save Screen Image to save the image on-screen as a new file.

Easy Screenshot Method for Galaxy S3

Found this over on t-mobile.com. Comes in very handy. I attached the image but for your reference:
"With features like Screen Shot, you can capture your phone's screen image just by swiping your hand across the screen". So basically, swipe the edge of your palm with an open hand across the screen of your device, as if you're trying to brush something off the screen. Thats it!

Thanks for the info. There are two ways it appears.
Method 1:
1. HOLD down the POWER button and the HOME button at the same time.
2. That’s it! Seriously, it’s that easy! For those having issues, hit the home button first, then right after that tap the power button. You’ll see a message appear on the screen that says “screenshot saved to Camera shots”. With this method, your screenshot will appear in the directory /Pictures/Screenshots. You can also go to your Gallery app to see the screenshots that you have captured.
Method 2:
1. Click the MENU button and select SETTINGS.
2. Select MOTION.
3. Under “Hand Motion” settings, check “Palm swipe to Capture” checkbox.
4. That’s it! Now you can capture screens by moving your palm on the screen from left to right or right to left. This will take screenshot of whatever screen you are currently on. You can go to your Gallery app to see the screenshots that you have captured.

Screen shots using s-pen

Hi
i used to capture screen shots in note 2 and note 3 using the s-pen button then touching the screen
But in note 4 i must click it to open air view then choose screen writing
So is there any way to add this option again without air view ?
Thanks
sent from my note 4
When I pull out S pen screen write is an option or you can swipe your hand across the screen or press the button to Smart select
I mean to hold the pen button and touch the screen just like note 3

I'd like to know the answer as well. Don't like having to choose from screen write or palm swipe.

You can also switch between the 2 most recent apps without going into the multitasking screen. Hold down the multitasking/appswitch button on the navigation bar for a second or so and it'll switch to the previous app, pressing again will take you back to the app you just had open

You can make your external SD card the default location for downloads, pics, app data by going to Settings>Storage>Default location>SD card.

Note 9 Screenshot Help Needed, Anyone Know Tips Or Tricks?

I have a Note 9 SM-N960W and have found a few different ways of doing screenshots. Method 1... Palm swipe is annoying, method 2... power + vol down is hard to time and triggers volume sliders that ruin the screenshot, and method 3... there is a screenshot option in the edge pannel and also smart select.
The Problem with all these is the edge pannel Handel always shows on the resulting image. Is there an easy way to somehow use the built in screenshot app/apk maybe through an activities manager shortcut?
Right now I'm using Button Mapper and have disabled edge pannel but would love a quick & easy way to capture the full screen, no adb, and no edge pannels or palm swipes because they are just annoying! Any helpful suggestions or ideas? I've tried all I could find.

You can try installing standalone apk NavStar (Samsung) from ApkMirror website.
Then download free app "Activity Manager" app
from Play store.
Open Activity Manager, search for NavStar, tap on NavStar and another window will open.
You will see two options.
First option, tap 3 dot menu and create shortcut for
NavStar to configure it, as NavStar
won't show in your app drawer.
NavStar is part of Samsung, Good Lock 2018 app.
However Good Lock 2018 is not available for some markets /users
With NavStar you can customize your navigation bar
to choose your own selection from options available.
You can choose "screenshot" etc.
See attached
You don't have to do any ADB /root/etc
It's a straight forward "sideload /install manually"
app.
Safe, no issues.

I use Buttonmapper to set "single tap" volume down for screen shots. Works perfect..
I use an app called "Softkey Edge App". It's an app panel that you slide out from the side like other edge apps and it has several shortcut keys, screenshot is one of them.
Nice thing is, it takes the screenshot WITHOUT the edge panel, so you actually get what you want.
You can find it on the Samsung App Store.
4 option Will be " Hi! Bixby" take a screen shot
---------- Post added at 10:38 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:34 PM ----------
5 will be using Good lock 2018 and on the NavStar add the option for screen shot
depends if you want to save a screenshot or just share it to someone.
When sharing a screenshot (which I don't necessarily want to keep), I'll hold the home button to trigger google assistant. Then just send a screenshot from there. Nice and simple and no messing with buttons.
Hold Bixby button and say "Take screenshot" ...
Works brilliantly...
Thanks everyone, some great ideas! I decided to go with button Mapper because I don't use edge pannel, I hate the handle showing on my screenshots even though it is transparent to a certain degree. Button mapper takes the screenshot basically instantly and there are no icons or any sort of idea that an extra app is being used. The only downside is my phone is not rooted so I cannot reboot without having to run ADB Commands again, but no biggie since my phone is always on. Thanks for all the help full suggestions everyone!!!
