Androidpolice has confirmed that the nexus 9 isn't running any new apps compared to what it out now. So anything that isn't material yet like hangouts isn't going to be material on the nexus 6 and 9. There is no point for anyone to upload the nexus 6 and 9 apps since they're the same to what's available to anyone else. Messenger being an exception.

The new messenger app has leaked a while ago and works on the android lollipop preview. I don't know if it runs on anything before that. It hasn't been officially released yet if that's what you're asking. Keep in mind it might be exclusive to lollipop.
Does it have a vibratiton motor like the nexus 10?
Can you confirm that it is running a 64 bit version of android/Linux kernel?
Can you take some screenshots with a screenshot app like this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.icecoldapps.screenshoteasy

Ok, but that doesn't say anything about the software.
Just as well as I can run a 32 bit Windows on an Intel i7 one can run android in 32 bit on the K1 in 32 bit mode. There have been some speculations the last weeks that google is not ready for android in 64 bit and that they are using it in 32 bit mode. That would probably result in loss of a little performance. But I have no idea how you can test for that.
Could you run Sunspider benchmark please? ?
what about the heat is the nexus hot when you use it for websurfing

i disable chrome and use chrome beta on all my devices. doesn't seem to get very warm for me
Is battery life better with Chrome Beta?
I tried to side load the ota and it errors at package.zip. copied it over to twrp and when I try to flash it it says it's meant for a flounder while I have a volantis device. I unlocked the boot loader, used CFroot, and flashed twrp after using the factory images for the previous release.
IMO this the same as Q build but for folks like me and many others who could not install becase old recovey. I dont see many changes yet - browsing still drains like 1% every two minutes making this tablet piece of useless electronics.

I'm going to assume you haven't investigated what is causing your wakelocks. because that is abnormal drain time for any device. you are on lollipop, running old KitKat and donut software most likely . there are a number of free LP compatible wake lock analyzing options out there. solve your problems (in turn, help others with same issue), or consider going back to a pager.

Yeah I'm aware of such software and using it on my 1+1. However I wanted to at least try to use my Nexus 9 as "normal user" would do for the first time. Browsing still drains ridiculous amount of battery however I confirm that it is now much better on R build. And heating is much less.

I got tired of waiting for Google to issue a working OTA for those of us stuck on LRX21L so I flashed the LRX21R factory image. I'm very happy with it and am glad I took plunge. Noticeable improvements on smoothness. Device still gets hots at times but its improved IMO.
FYI.. I tried following googles instruction for flashing the image. It didn't work.. It crapped out on the SYSTEM.IMG.
Manually flashing each of the IMG files went fine though and all is now working great.
Lastly,
I'd like to point out the the device restore feature worked much better than I had hoped. It even managed to keep app data settings on a couple of apps (that don't have sign in accounts).

Got the R update today. Seems good so far. :good:
(NOTE: I am NOT responsible for any damage to your tablet caused by this driver, yourself, your dog/cat, your drink, ect.)
(NOTE #2: Not currently available.)
I'm working on a modified driver for the Dell Venue 8 Pro, mainly to increase the amount of RAM dedicated to the graphics..
My goal is to increase the dedicated video memory from 32MB to 64MB/128MB/256MB (64MB is probably the safest, but I am aiming for 128MB), which *should* increase performance in some desktop games (I.e. Batman: Arkham Asylum).
It will be based off official drivers from Dell/Intel.
I'll try to have a version up soon for testing (I myself may or may not test it depending on the circumstances). ;D
1/24/15
-Intel Released Driver Update on 1/21/2015
-Development Will Continue with 11/2/2013 Driver
I will be willing to test.

2 is default but boost on
3 is all for max (512mb boost on and other stuff that i dont remeber :v)
As you can see 3 get the best but it cut me 500 mb ram,so i recommend 32 mb
By the way, that boost is nasty, it's giving 1000 points and about 5 fps ;p
Thanks

I'd say more dedicated memory would help with CoD, or even something like GTA IV, of which I hear needs a good bit of dedicated memory.
EDIT: The A03 BIOS isn't listed under Other Versions on Dell's site, what model do you have? I have the 5000 series.

It seems that Encryption has got a big performance boost in 5.1.
I ran Androbench on my stock Nexus 6 running LMY47M.
My results using stock androbench settings.
Sequential Read|Write
161.53 MB/s | 74.75 MB/s
Random Read
20.0 MB/s, 5187.28 IOPS (4KB)
Random Write
7.98 MB/s, 2052.08 IOPS (4KB)
These numbers are actually higher than the unencrypted numbers AndroidPolice and Antutu reported back when the Nexus 6 first came out.
http://www.androidpolice.com/2014/1...us-6-encrypted-vs-unencrypted-its-not-pretty/
Yeah I'm not even gonna mess with unencrypting mine. It's as fast as me already. I don't care about benchmark numbers.

Same here. I had to enable a pattern to be able to access exchange server. There are exchange security bypass hacks out there you can load to remove that dependency (was for the Note 3 anyways) but I'm gonna leave it be.
I'd like to see someone check how the CPU is hit during heavy I/O now.
Remember that it could be pegging the CPU in order to keep the data transfer fast, which would have an impact on CPU intense applications and battery life. Real world use includes I/O *simultaneous* with CPU. Benchmarks only test them separately.
This is good to see. Once 5.1 or whatever settles in, I'm going back to encrypted and locked down

I can't take that decision for you. I don't really care about encryption. If they steal my phone, and don't know my password they only can get data off my sd card. Which I don't really bother.. What bothers to me is how the phone feels. And I decrypted it on android 5.0.1 And the phone did feel allot faster. On 5.1 decrypted the phone feels just as fast, I haven't used 5.1 encrypted, so I can't tell the differnce on 5.1. But I think the phone wil feel faster decrypted. So you could give it a try.

I will, I'm actually waiting for the whole drama with the different 5.1 builds to be solved and then I will decrypt the phone
I was in the decrypted camp on 5.0... Didn't bother on 5.1 and honestly it's fast. No lag or stutters
My N6 still sucks opening apps. I'm so tired of this phone feeling slow. I still have my N5 because I'm procrastinating selling it but its running stock 5.0.1 and all the apps open instantly. I tested it against my decrypted N6 running 5.1, and my N6 is way behind.. Androbench says my sequential read speed is 187.72MB/s. Now if I reboot my phone it'll probably clear some apps from memory and do better idk I'll go try but either way sometimes it does better after a reboot, but it is nowhere near as fast as loading apps on my N5 and that bothers me so bad..
Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
---------- Post added at 04:08 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:58 PM ----------
OK after reboot its sequential read is at 192.84MB/s. Its performing a little better but this wears off for me. I can't keep rebooting my phone to get a little speed increase. Is that a bad result? Should my phone do better being decrypted? I can't stand it.

Any new phone will still use encryption and if Goog doesn't want to shell out the fees to Qualcomm it is still going to be software like it is now. Maybe a newer proc would be better at handling it though? Not sure.

The Pixel C will support USB 3.1 transfers in host and client mode using the Type C connector
Double tap 2 wake has been left out because they found it was draining too much battery
Always on "OK Google" support will be added at a later time
The Pixel C developers are relying on the third party app developers to make tablet friendly applications (obvious)
It was decided to focus on the keyboard experience, rather than an active stylus ala iPad Pro
The Pixel C will be an AOSP supported device
The bootloader will be unlockable
It will not support Chromebook style recovery via USB
The firmware is open source
Displayport over the Type C connection is being worked on with no ETA
The display will have a brightness of 500 nits
OS updates are expected to be released to line up with the monthly security updates for Android
The "C" in Pixel C stands for "convertible"
There are a bunch of things being developed/worked on for the Pixel C that they couldn't talk about, so we have more to look forward to
Hey, could you ask if the bootloader will be unlockable ?

I will update this thread if they come back with any more answers. I asked what memory standard they are using (eMMC, UFS, PCIe, etc) and who they source their LCD panels from. Didn't get an answer tho.
They also teased us with multiwindow
i have read a bit about lack of multi window and the folks writing must not realize that it exists in 6.0. i use it on my nexus nine. it takes a rooted device and an additional line in build.prop, i think that was all. and it is usable. should be interesting to try on the pixel c, i would guess that it is present granted, there are issues with it, many due to apps not built to use the feature. anyway, i will be trying it out on the pixel c if it is possible to activate, i can see no reason why it would not be available but will not know until i try it.
Does anyone know if they mentioned anything about making the factory images available to the public like all the Nexus devices?

I made that question because the tegra K1 in the nexus 9 is able to support open GL4.5 but google block that.
Do you know is google block it in the pixel c too?

I honestly don't know the answer to that. Hopefully somebody else can chime in on that.

Straight from their site https://developer.nvidia.com/content/tegra-k1-whitepaper
Says it supports Open GL 4.4 not 4.5
Google didn't block it, it was never supported.

Could I see some CPU-Z screen shots?
SOC, Device and System if possible!
Maybe do a run of Antutu while you're at it

Sorry I want to mean open GL 4.4 , Google locked the opengl library and nexus 9 owners cant play powerfull games, i would like to somebody run zdevice and see if open gl 4.5 is working here in pixel C
Why removing double tap instead of making it optional in the settings.
Ok they said it was it consume too much battery but is this specific to this screen or they mean like every phone that use this functionality?
I really want this device but i think I'm gonna stay on stock to enable adb and flash an another rom...

If it became a feature that was available people would use it then complain about horrible battery life.
Honestly what's so horrible about just using the power button?
In due time I'm sure a dev will incorporate dt2w.

Guys I'm considering buying Honor 8 and I want to know how long you've been using this phone and have you experienced any lags/crashes/slow-downs on stock firmware during this time? Thanks!
Buy the Honor 8 Pro instead as you will get Oreo guaranteed. I have had the 8 for 13 months now and didn't like Nougat till B394 update due to the **** battery life. I stuck to MM till B394 where on heavy usage too I could easily get 5 hours of screen on time.
There hasn't been any noticeable slowdown or such. The phone still runs smoothly.

Thanks. Have you used Honor/Huawei phones before and how have they held up over time? I have a 5X that was slow and laggy on stock (EMUI 4 sucks) and didn't improve much even with custom roms (all Nougat roms become unusable after few weeks, CM13 is better but hangs randomly).
I bought this phone last December. I've taken every update and I have yet to be the least bit disappointed in this phone. It has been a fantastic device. I would but it again in a heartbeat for the right price.

Good to know! Are you on stock?
The Honor 8 has been great since I bought it in September 2016. the battery took a hit with 7.0 though. I feel its time to move on, but i can't find anything to replace it TBH. I've got a mate 10 Pro which is nice, but it doesn't feel like spending £700 will make THAT much of a different experience to the H8.
It is a really good device. From February the antutu benchmark has dropped a lot but the performance is exactly the same as always, no lags with max graphics on hard to run 3d games. Has held up pretty well.

Why has the benchmark score dropped?

I guess it happens with every phone. The performance in use hasn't dropped at all however, so it is just fine.

Don't buy anything Huawei or honor phone because the are so bat at support and update , if I were you I would buy a OnePlus 3T or a galaxy s7/edge
or any other phone because they are cheaper and better than the honor 8 and and any Huawei/honor phones.

Cool! How long have you had the phone and are you taking any battery-saving measures?
