The Pixel C will support USB 3.1 transfers in host and client mode using the Type C connector
Double tap 2 wake has been left out because they found it was draining too much battery
Always on "OK Google" support will be added at a later time
The Pixel C developers are relying on the third party app developers to make tablet friendly applications (obvious)
It was decided to focus on the keyboard experience, rather than an active stylus ala iPad Pro
The Pixel C will be an AOSP supported device
The bootloader will be unlockable
It will not support Chromebook style recovery via USB
The firmware is open source
Displayport over the Type C connection is being worked on with no ETA
The display will have a brightness of 500 nits
OS updates are expected to be released to line up with the monthly security updates for Android
The "C" in Pixel C stands for "convertible"
There are a bunch of things being developed/worked on for the Pixel C that they couldn't talk about, so we have more to look forward to
Hey, could you ask if the bootloader will be unlockable ?

It's all good.
I will update this thread if they come back with any more answers. I asked what memory standard they are using (eMMC, UFS, PCIe, etc) and who they source their LCD panels from. Didn't get an answer tho.
They also teased us with multiwindow
i have read a bit about lack of multi window and the folks writing must not realize that it exists in 6.0. i use it on my nexus nine. it takes a rooted device and an additional line in build.prop, i think that was all. and it is usable. should be interesting to try on the pixel c, i would guess that it is present granted, there are issues with it, many due to apps not built to use the feature. anyway, i will be trying it out on the pixel c if it is possible to activate, i can see no reason why it would not be available but will not know until i try it.
Does anyone know if they mentioned anything about making the factory images available to the public like all the Nexus devices?

Raw performance is about 2x that of the Tegra K1 in the Nexus 9.

Sorry I want to mean open GL 4.4 , Google locked the opengl library and nexus 9 owners cant play powerfull games, i would like to somebody run zdevice and see if open gl 4.5 is working here in pixel C
Why removing double tap instead of making it optional in the settings.
Ok they said it was it consume too much battery but is this specific to this screen or they mean like every phone that use this functionality?
I really want this device but i think I'm gonna stay on stock to enable adb and flash an another rom...

If it became a feature that was available people would use it then complain about horrible battery life.
Honestly what's so horrible about just using the power button?

So I got a Nexus 7, and it's pretty cool.
I downgraded to 4.1.2 so I could use the Wii classic controller.
ANYWAYS. I downloaded the three top N64 emulator from the google store, N64oid, Mupen+ and something else...
Anyways, trying to play Mario Party 1, 2, or 3 and it runs at full speed. The game runs okay during the setup, but once you get into play, the sprites disappear and the spots on the board are all moved around and off the path of the actual map.
It's not a frame rate issue, it's graphical glitches.
I'm just wondering if there is any way of fixing it? Is there a setting I can change, or a different type of rom or emulator I need?
Any help would be great.
If you're wondering, yes, I do own a physical copy of Mario Party 1, 2, and 3. Going on a trip soon and would love to play it along the way.
Thanks guys!

Is that a setting on the emulator itself? And to which emulator may you be referring? Thank you.
I tried playing mario party 2 and everything was just flickering, using N64oid.
Bump? Anybody else having this issue and or resolved it? It's a pretty popular n64 game, I'm actually kinda surprised it hasn't been discussed.

The moto x uses an extra CPU for that feature so it either wont be possible or very battery and hardware hungry.

It will likely be ported, but according to the Moto article it specifically stated this special DSP allows them to have such great battery. The Nexus has a DSP, however the X has two new DSPs from Moto(as part of the "octo X8").
Two of the promoted features of the Moto X are Active Display and Always-on google now. To answer your question directly, yes they will be ported. But, will it be practical to use in everyday life? Probably not. This is because of the battery drain that these would have. Both these feature have some specialized hardware support (different screen, special CPU cores etc) for these functions and are kind of the main selling points of the device. So, it is unlikely that we're going to see this in full force on our Nexus devices.

Yes I have, it seem to be working fine, I am happy about spilt screen, but wifi seem to worse then with the Xceed kernel, but I need to do more testing.
It's very janky compared to M with xceed kernel. 3DMark performance drops by nearly 1k points, 3D games (from brief tests) are extremely janky and nearly unplayable.
There appears to be sqlcipher issues - anything using sqlcipher will crash, most likely due to the heightened NDK security.
Definitely not something you'd want to use unless you're a developer wanting to make sure your stuff works with android N.
Non-rooted pixel c running great on N

The device with N is sluggish, any app that relies on sqlcipher (many do) will crash/not work, many apps crash outright including Google's own apps. That said notifications do appear to work fine, the OS itself has some nice updates... although it will inexplicably start lagging at times. Battery life is horrible compared to a device running with the xceed kernel, and wifi also has issues especially on ipv6 routers.
I wouldn't use it as a daily driver - it really is ONLY good at the moment as a test device for writing your own applications that you want to either 1) take advantage of what it brings to dev work or 2) you really want to make sure your app works with N early on (problematic because this early from the N release there are bound to be many changes)
Not rooted. Running N today. 7 hours of normal use. (no video or gaming) still at 82%........absolutely loving the battery life!
Sent from my Pixel C using Tapatalk
I've been running it since yesterday afternoon and both battery life and performance have been satisfactory. I agree that things run a little slower on N than they did on MM, but that's kinda part of the process IMHO - it's a beta after all.
I wonder if there have been any changes in USB-C display support in the N preview? I haven't tried it myself but has anyone else?
I can confirm the amazing battery life! Also no Display Adapter available here.

It's good for daily use for me too. Some Apps not working yet, mostly video content apps like Sky Go Germany or a news portal, but I can live without them for now.
Only one important thing: It didn't recognise my 5Ghz wifi network at home when the router was in automatic channel mode. When I set it to channel 36 it was fine. Apparently the Pixel has issues with some 5Ghz channels, but if you have access to your router that shouldn't be a problem.
I received mine yesterday and went straight to N. I now understand how generous people were being to the Pixel C in reviews considering what it shipped with. It took me 15 minutes to get through the setup wizard because the touch screen was so unresponsive. I have no idea how this thing was approved for sale.
That said N (and im sure patched MM) is running great so far.

Another hit on Sony.
So far the only gains you get with the X Performance is as follows..
- predictive hybrid autofocus
- 13 mp front camera
- Snapdragon 820
The z5 is as follows
- Glass premium design
- 4k video recording
- Small Apps for now
- Bigger screen within tolerable range for carry 5.2
Anyone else wanna add something in? I'm thinking of buying a cheaper z5 now and so this x series 1st Gen.

The 820 is more efficient, so you'll see similar uptimes. I don't like this trend, though, I want at least two days of battery life.
To be honest, I never use(d) them, and they're (after the bloatware) the first thing I remove as soon as I get touch to the system folder.
Also with the Multiwindow function (in-officially) introduced in MM they're even less needed, I can understand why Sony removed them.

Enabling multi window on Android 6.0 is really easy...
no root required, you just need to setup adb and run:
Code:
adb shell setprop persist.sys.debug.multi_window true
about the small apps i have to say that i never used them. I owned an xperia z1 and now a z3 and when i saw them i thought, wow nice i can use a calculator and other things when i need them, but at the end i really never used em >.<
I own a Z2 and I never used small apps. So for me, this is a positive move from Sony.
I'd like a Z5P if it features a S820. Unfortunately it doesn't.
