Wifi Settings?

Hey guys,
been using my X10 for a while now (2 weeks) and the battery life is one thing that tilts me a lot... I tried all the tas killer, adv task killer, task panel lite etc, and none really worked
also, juice defender just somehow seems to screw up my wifi settings. I use no 3g/ data at all so i just keep that disabled.
However from reading this forum I downloaded an app called Spare Parts. It is really good in that it tells me what is using my battery in a detailed manner. so it tells me that my battery is being drained from
Running 12%
Wifi running 12%
wifi on 99.9%!!!
Now i made sure of all my wifi settings, I have it turned to "Sleep when screen turns off" in the android menu, and "android default" under spare parts.
I uninstalled juice defender bc i found that it was just screwing up my settings, it kept changing the "Sleep when screen turns off" to "Never" which resulted in more battery drain
I dont know why my wifi is running 99.9% but i gotta think that is killing my battery.. The really annoying thing is if I goto the battery use under normal android settings and it is telling me wifi only used up 6% of my battery since last charge?
sorry for the mega long first post but any help is really appreciated
bumppppp! Im sure this must be a problem for other people too who don't know their wifi is running 100%?
Not sure what advice i can offer you mate.
Although WIFI is definately a large drain on the battery i found the source of my battery problems were down to having the "Location source and & Data use settings" enabled.
Put simply it will try to use either your wifi or data connection to determine your current location. If this is left running in the background it will seriously affect your battery.
Its better to only enable them when required.
Hi - The answer is in your question...
Wifi running 12%
wifi on 99.9%!!!
This means that your wifi is switched on for 99.9% of the time which you phone has been on, but it has only been "active" or "not sleeping" for 12% of the time.. This is fine..
I removed Ulitmate juice a while ago, but reinstalled only the Juicedefender element last week and it's definitely making a difference to my battery life - especially when I'm out and about..
Have a good look through the power usage thread - there's loads of stuff the phone does in the background that you can switch off to save juice.
Yea definately know what you mean, the only thing thats bugging me is that i am 100% sure my wifi settings were... sleep when screen turns off... so for wifi to be on 99.9%??? Shouldnt that setting ensure the widi is not on when the screen is off?

Defy Wifi Drain

Hi. I`ve noticed something : my wifi is draining battery in standby extremly....
I`m very carefull about my applications in background, so alot of them are freezed or closed.
Well, when on wifi , the phone is in deep sleep nad battery is draining without any transfer...
I made an experiment: closed wifi and activated mobile data. The battery drain is half of the one with wifi only...
So...my conclusin is that the wifi adapter inside the phone is eating battery in stand by....while the data modem is not ...
You had same probem before ?
I have CM 7.2

[Q] Weird battery behavior on MG5 (I9500)

Hey guys..
I am on Rooted MG5 with Persues Alpha 9. I have been facing this issue since ever I flashed MG1 and then MG5... Battery consumption on ideal mode is ridiculous..
When I go to sleep (12AM), I keep my phone's Wifi On... When I wake up (7.30AM) almost 20% of juice is consumed.. Even when Power Saving Mode is enabled.
Couple of days back, I tried turning off Wifi and Mobile Data connection.. Even then around 10-15% of battery was consumed. I don't really understand why does it take that much battery..
Yesterday I tried different experiment. I put my phone on Airplane mode, disabled Wifi, Enabled Power Saving mode.. Battery consumption was like 4-5%.. I still feel for phone in ideal mode this is too much..
Anyone else is having the same issue? or is it just me? shall I try flashing another firmware? I am not at all happy with battery life
Use BetterBatteryStats to see what's using your battery or maybe wakelocks
I will try using BetterBatteryStats.. Hope It will show the culprit service.

G900MD/G900FD Wifi battery drain?

Hey guys
Wondering if anyone else with an S5 Duos is experiencing a similar issue-
I find that when I'm connected to WiFi (both at work and at home with full wifi signal) my phone seems to consume around 5% battery every hour during sleep, if I switch WiFi off the battery usage is around 1 - 1.7% per hour on LTE during sleep.
I've tried stock firmware for KitKat and Lollipop and have the same issue on both. This does not seem like normal behaviour judging from the previous Galaxy S3/S4 I've owned. Thinking it might be a bug in the radio rom?

Marshmallow wifi battery drain bug..

After installing marshmallow to note 4 910F, I found out to much battery consumption.. It was more obvius when i left phone at night, connected with my wifi router. It had 20-30% battery consumption at 7 hours. Phone on, wifi on, rest off.
If i turn off wifi, no battery drain.. I loose 3%.
Even with 4G on, and wifi off, i loose much less!!
I tried more than 4 roms 6.01, factory erased everything, even safe mode. Always wifi drain.
In lolipop i had about 3% drain with the same.
Searching in net, i found out same problems mostly with nexus (probably because they had first of all marshmallow and they find it first..). I also found the same for note 5.
Many say to set router to 2.4 gihahz, set static ip, turn off something like v6 ip protocol? I don't remember well.
Also i read, mostly problem exists if router have huawei chip.
Checked mine, and it did had huawei chip..
Anyway i didn't found a solution for this. Tried better battery stats and found out tha alarms was for long time. Sleep was 85%, when normal would be 97%.
I also have a photo showing bigger drain in wifi than 4G.
Anyway how problem solved? I changed router and with everything same, i loose 3%....
But when i connect to other routers coffe, etc, if they have the same chip i still have drain there.
I probably find out the problem in note 4 first of all, as i dont read anything searching so, i inform others here.
note marshmellow battery drain
hope this helps. had the same problem of battery drain and not being able to put phone in power saving mode. i stumbled upon things that the update cuts on and you have no idea, anyway, it seems that the update has the search for other devices running 24/7 and you have to go in and switch it off. since then power mode has been enabled and stays on and battery life is back.
hello , guys .. beezyb can you explain with steps ?! you said that it seems that the update has the search for other devices running 24 hours / 7 days and i have to go in and switch it off ... bla bla .. what you mean with that ? !! can you help me ? !
