[Q] HDMI Out Latency - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Just wondering if there's a way to reduce the latency using the MHL adapter?
There's a good maybe 300-500ms delay to the image on the TV making things that require quick input incredibly difficult.
Perhaps some hidden hdmi settings in the phone somewhere?
Cheers!

[Q] HDMI input?

Hey devs
I was wondering if you could somehow use the hdmi out as an hdmi in?
or is it like a regular hdmi out. Or is there any software out there that
can interpret the signal from the port?
im just wondering (used google no answers, no posts about this either)
Thanks!
No.
You can't use it as a monitor if that's what you're asking. You can only use it for output.
thanks, is there any other way for the tablet to display video from an external source?

Seeing that DVI uses about 4Gbps for bandwidth while the maximum USB connection is 480 Mbps... I dont think it is possible. Unless the signal can be somehow injected directly from the docking connector.

Viable Computer Replacement?

Hey all,
Just a question in regards to viability of the nexus as a computer replacement:
can you connect the nexus 7 to a 32" lcd tv screen (via hdmi) and use external keyboard\mice ? (+do the HDMI carry the sound from the device)
thinking of trowing away my pc, i almost never use it as is.. and all i require is some word processing, movie streaming and surfing the web.
what do you say? can it be done?
You can attach a keyboard via Bluetooth or via USB OTG, but there's no MHL or HDMI output on the Nexus 7. Try a search for MHL or HDMI to see a selection of discussions around media streaming, but there's no screen duplication that I've seen.
So I guess the short answer to your question is no, unless you don't mind a 7" screen for your word processing and web surfing

So the nexus 7 is not perfect after all :<
Could you recommend any other tablet with as similar as possible spec that actually supports screen duplication?
+ why didn't they just add the ability to connect to hdmi via micro usb to hdmi adapter

Rikomagic MK808IIIs --> display port ** SOVLED**

Hay all,
I got one of these recently to connect to one of my monitors.
My monitor has a display port not HDMI and I have an adaptor for it this one.
It fits well and all, but my device will not power on when plug in via this adapter, I've seen a few issues with this but cant find a answer if there is one.
Has anyone encountered this problem?
Has anyone fixed it or has an idea?
Any help would be appreciated

From displayport.org;
Q: I just purchased a monitor that only has a DisplayPort connection. How can I hook this up to my computer that only has VGA, DVI or HDMI?
A: There is not a cost effective way to do this. The adaptors that are available only work from a DP computer to a VGA, DVI or HDMI monitor and not the other way around. If you have a desktop you can purchase a graphics card with DisplayPort. Our best advice: Before you purchase a DP only monitor make sure you have DP on your computer.
Basically, you can't use the DisplayPort connection on your monitor with ANY device that only has VGA, DVI, or HDMI outputs, without the use of an expensive converter that may not produce acceptable results. Please follow Dave's advice and try to use a HDMI-to-DVI adapter.

Solution was used a HDMI to DVI... or anything else really not a display port

Nexus 4 / HDCP & Capture

What I'm looking to do is record and possibly stream the screen of my Nexus 4. I've read a lot on HDCP and how it would prevent me from doing this out of the box. Before this I wasn't familiar with HDCP and how it functioned so I'm glad I had this learning experience. I do have a couple of questions however.
It is to my assumption that a setup like this would work:
Nexus 4 ->
SlimPort Adapter ->
HDMI to DVI Cable ->
http://www.monoprice.com/Product?c_id=102&cp_id=10231&cs_id=1023104&p_id=2661&seq=1&format=2
A converter like this -->
http://www.monoprice.com/Product/?c...d=1011405&p_id=5369&seq=1&format=1#largeimage
HDMI Cable ->
AVermedia Live Gamer HD card.
What my Googling hasn't answered though is how exactly HDCP is lost in the process. Could I skip out on the converter all together and just go with a crazy manufactured cable? Something like this...
Nexus 4 ->
SlimPort Adapter ->
HDMI to DVI Cable ->
http://www.monoprice.com/Product?c_id=102&cp_id=10231&cs_id=1023104&p_id=2661&seq=1&format=2
Male HDMI to Female DVI connector ->
http://www.monoprice.com/Product?c_id=104&cp_id=10419&cs_id=1041902&p_id=2080&seq=1&format=2
AVermedia Live Gamer HD card
I guess I'm just lost in how HDCP is lost in the process and I'd like to get myself set up with something as least confusing as possible. I'm aware that DVI cables cannot carry HDCP; however, I am not sure as far as how the protection is generated. Some people in forum posts have recommended splitters; however, when I read reviews, I hear that they're not as advertised anymore. The new splitters no longer strip HDCP. Thanks in advance for any knowledge. :good:
I'm trying to do the exact same thing you're doing right now. I have a nexus 4 and I picked up a SlimPort Adapter. Connected to my AverMedia LGP and I cannot get it to work for the life of me. I'm going to assume you need the converter that you mentioned earlier. I'm going to pick one up tomorrow, I hate this.
DO NOT BUY LGP, IT WILL NOT WORK. You need an internal card or just shell out the money and buy this http://www.solarisjapan.com/xcapture-1-usb-3-0-hd-capture-unit/

TCL can I use AV audio input and HDMI video input at the same time?

Title says it all, I have a specific issue that I won't bore you with its details, but basically I can't get audio from my HDMI output device, so I'm wondering if there is an apk or a method to somehow input audio from AV while displaying video through HDMI?
Thank in advance.
