The cant manage nothing. Bad servers, bad support .. Its very sad that they tread the customers like this.

Actually, it's why I "don't" hate the invite system so much. Preorder either crash the server or take very very long time to arrive. It is a huge task for a small and new company to face so much demand.

Same I kind of expected a crap ton of people trying to get on and assumed it would go down, There actual site/forums are down as well. Like if you try to go to the forums it says OnePlus Forums
Saving some server resources for our account log in. Sorry for the trouble and check back in an hour! So I am assuming they shut the forums off to try and make getting to the preorder site better but obviously that didn't work.

I got to the confirmation step. When I hit continue to payment, i started getting connection errors. Still can't order
I can try to set up my pre order again, but it won't let me choose the state i live in for my address.

Now it just says
404 Not Found nginx when going to the site

All this work I'm doing to get a phone that is most likely going to have a crippling touch screen defect. Curse you nexus 6 price!

The site is back online but button does not work.

Has anyone gotten through by chance? I was so close! It said my estimated shipping time was 1 week before the server crashed. Now I can't even fill in my state, and my pre order set up has been cleared

2 week wait

I got through. Shipping time was quoted as one week. When I finally got the page to load the state wasn't loading and I had to be patient and wait. When I got the confirmation page and click to go to paypal it 404d and luckily I clicked back and then next again and it went to paypal fine.

It came up showing my order as blank (I saved my pre-order yesterday), but I just hit continue to payment and once paypal loaded everything was okay.

Dell refunded my money, Didn't tell me... Weird.

HOT news!!!
I was refunded my money via online banking. It's very strange!
I check my order online daily to make sure when and if my DVP have shipped. My order is still on the dell website and shows that it's still in production.
However, the weirdest thing is that I was refunded my money when I checked my online-banking account today. I also have no records of it on my account that I ordered anything from dell recently. Absoluetly no records at all. Not even a purchase or a cancelation. All I know is that I have the $500.00 money back for odd some reason.
I don't know whether this means they're going to cancel my order online without telling me because they no longer have my money.
I purchased with a debit card. My account is healthy as hell.
Anyone have this happened to them before?
dont spend that money what dell does is charges your card for the order initially but since you arent getting a device they can only put a temp hold on the amount after a few days your card issuer releases the hold but right when youyr device is gonna ship dell will charge you again. so make sure that money is there.
They did that too me too, but my bank has been doing this to me for almost every thing I buy thats over $100. I guess the bank just does that to make sure the charges aren't fraudulent or something. Eventually the money gets charged again but sometimes it takes up to a week after I even receive the thing.
I do have a student account though.

They're both right. Dell does place a hold to make sure you have the funds when you place the order, which essentially shows up as a "charge" on your account, but when the hold expires (usually a week), the money is back in your account because it was never really taken out. When the device is shipped, the account will actually be debited for the amount, so yes, as Shaun231 said, don't spend the money or there will be an error when Dell debits it for real during shipping.
I am hoping they ship the bloody device soon. I'm getting tired of refreshing the order status page on Dell.com

My friend who works for dell said sdome will be shipped tomorrow he always give me correct info. he said the problem they are having is microsoft wanting replacement devices for their store and dell wants the online orders stock to be fulfilled so there fighting over who has to wait online or store. I say store

i mean people should just be happy to get a replacement battery after using my hd7 and my surrond at home I notice they both have the wifi issue as the dvp was reported to have. So i assume its software.

That's weird - is this a broader issue that has been posted on the HD7 and Surround forums? I had the HD7 for 2 weeks and it had no problems connecting to (and staying connected to, after waking from sleep/lock) my secured wireless network.

You need to get to the thousand (last 4 digits) or beyond to compare. eg:7714 (714) is earlier than 8114 (114)

Someone posted in the other thread that they called the play store and the lady on the other end told him to check back in 3 days...
Not sure we're going to get much surer than that.
Even if we do, I'd take it with a grain of salt.
I called last night at about 2AM EST and they told me the Nexus 4 would go on sale at 9AM PST.
Lo and behold, it was sold out by the time I got on and checked around 850AM PST.

Google outed the order page at 830 AM PST, there was a timeframe of about 2 minutes before their servers got hit hard and flooded, I had my phone in cart 5 minutes after the page went live, and I couldnt complete the purchase for another half hr, before then it was errors and non responsive google wallet popups when trying to check out.

Same thing with me, I tried to purchase it at 11:40 EST time and it took a good 20 minutes before I could complete the order because of the google wallet errors.
Who knows, Google guy said they will be trying to get more stock "in the coming weeks".
You can never tell with paper launches...
I can see why they wouldn't do pre-orders with these stock levels though, there's no good way to handle tens of thousands of pre-orders if you are only getting a few hundred in stock. You could just ship according to order time (although they completely failed to do this with the N7) but then you might still have the problem of pre-orders waiting for weeks or months after shipping starts if stock is very limited.
LG is probably cranking out Optimus G's as fast as they can while having one or two people slowly assembling Nexus 4's in the corner....

Most people don't even know it exists, let alone were hammering the website to beat the rush. Tell me compared to iphone nuts how many people do you think were hammering Play store all night to buy them out so fast? I'll I doubt they even had a ten thousand for North America or a thousand for Canada. There's a reason Google will never release numbers. They could prove me wrong...
Somehow I suspect that the Bell's launch of the Optimus G here had as much or more stock as the Google had Nexus 4 in Canada.
Selling out in minutes when relatively few people were even trying to get one screams paper launch.

Seems consistent with my experience. I got in there within about 20 seconds of the page going up and just clicked through and completed the transaction - I was shocked that it actually worked. Obviously beating the news had a great deal to do with it (as did having wallet all set up).
I did notice the coming soon and in stock messages tended to go back and forth over the next 10-20 minutes. Maybe they had issues updating all their mirrors or something.
They should have set it up like:
no more than 2 phones per a google account. someone getting 10 orders of four phones is flat out wrong.
set up a que. you're assigned a number when you add the device to the cart and can make the purchase, using the rules above, when you're number is up.
seems pretty fair.

Please people don't reward those jerks by buying the phones from them at inflated prices. Myself I hate buying 2nd-hand because you're asking for trouble if you need warranty service.
They should simply accept pre Orders!

Doing it this way it will just be very hard to order one as stock trickles in. "OMG people it is flying off the shelves!"
With preorders it could be possible that it takes several weeks or even months to ship out all the preorders as stock comes in. In that case the rage and frustration would really boil over. "We are doing our best to fill orders *whimper*"

Preorders failed completely with the nexus 7 which is probably why they are trying something else. Unfortunately it still doesn't work.
At least with the 7 preorder you could actually place an order even though deliveries were then either delayed, sent to incorrect addresses or sent out last come first served.

Pre-order is pretty much self explanatory=u get it when batch 2 comes out
Its the same thing. Complete means your order had been completed by Google Staff. Estimated shipping date means its been handed to UPS and they have determined an expected dilivery date.

Lol um... Nope! I ordered 3-5min after N4 was made available and there are others wayyy after me that has complete / est shipping nov15th on their order status.
These status doesn't mean crap. I confirmed with 2 representative that my order will be shipped in 1-2 business days just like everyone else.

If what google said about same day shipping is true, then my guess is completed=shipping yesterday, 15th=shipping tomorrow (for all the utc-7+ ,people, it's the 14th where I am, though you could have deduced that already )

I ordered that in less than 30 seconds after it became available and I am in pre-order status. For that reason I can't believe that I will have to wait for the next batch. I will get very angry if people ordered that after me got it before me. As soon as logs are kept and google have at least one computer available to sort the logs by time they should start dispatching with the first-come first-served patterns. Otherwise it is just unfair. I am so happy that you have confirmed that with 2 representatives. I sent an email to Google Play yesterday and I received a response saying that their records and my order id show that I will have the device shipped by the evening of 15/11. (this should be an automated reply by a bot that crawls your email and finds possible answers to your question - I say that because firstly I received the answer in 1-2 minutes and I don't believe that in such a busy day I had such a quick response and secondly the answer was close to what I asked but not exactly what I asked).

Google reps are even more retarded than tmobile reps. And yes i guess preorder is just a glitch. As long as they have charged you card showing in ur online banking u should be good. Mine still shows pending

UPS My Choice

Can anyone explain how this works? I'm very confused. I tried to sign up for it, but it couldn't find my name in any public records or something (Understandable, I just turned 16 around 45 minutes ago). After trying a bunch of different combinations, I finally put in my Moms name and it worked. It asked some questions to verify her identity. I was able to answer all of them, and in the questions, my dad's name was also mentioned, so it somehow knows the two of them are related.
So what now? Is it supposed to find my shipment automatically? My nexus is addressed to me, and I don't think I'm listed on the UPS Account. Would I need to add my name or something? How would I go about doing that?
I'm just confused about what it's supposed to actually even do. Is it supposed to automatically find packages being shipped to me before I get sent a tracking number or something? Why are so many people recommending signing up for it?

Basically if you have a UPS package that is being shipped to that address/person, UPS MY Choice will notify you in advance. In my experience I sometimes get notifications from UPS my Choice waaaaaay before the website/store (i.e. Amazon, PlayStore etc...) decides to send you a shipping notification.
It also gives you opportunities to hold the package for will call (free), change delivery ($5), deliver to UPS retail ($5).
I set this up tonight as well.
You can add "Other Household Members" to the address you initially set up (under your mom's name).
Initially I wasn't able to modify my shipment (wanted to pick up at a UPS store near work), and the online chat support told me it can take 90 minutes from when you signed up for packages in transit to reflect the new UPS My Choice status on your account.

What UPS location, local UPS Store or the sort facility that the package will pass thru prior to delivery. There maybe be additional steps to deliver it to the UPS Store.

That is a little weird, maybe they just want to make sure it will be available first thing in the morning or something, try calling UPS. I know I have been able to pick up items the same day they should have been delivered at the UPS sort facility, but I had to call and jump through some hoops to get it that same day.

I just called UPS when my thinkpad was coming from Shanghai, the day it was meant to be delivered (signature required) I wasn't going to be home till late, so I called them and even though it was out for delivery they said I could come get it from the sorting facility late that evening after the truck had returned.
Yea im trying to get it tomorrow instead of Monday cause there's no point in me picking it up Monday when they'll deliver it Lol

I see, I've never tried that, my local sort facility normally doesn't receive items until after hours and they are sorted overnight and sent out for delivery the following day.

yea that would be the ideal situation except they don't do deliveries saturday's but it should get there tonight and they are open tomorrow but idk if it'll be processed or anything
Not working for UPS I don't know for sure, but I suspect they dont process them prior to loading the trucks for delivery on Sunday night, maybe not all the staff work Friday/Saturday.

yea that's what i'm thinking, it's in knoxville tennessee right now so it won't be here till they close and probably won't even look at it tomorrow so monday it is i guess =/ i talked to a chat lady on UPS and she said they won't do anything before the first delivery date too
I got email notifications from My Choice with the tracking number but nothing in the APP.
The MyChoice Tab is basically an ad asking you to upgrade for $40 a year.
Am i supposed to copy and paste the tracking number from the my choice email and enter it manually in the tracking box?
If so, the App is pretty much useless to me. I would assume since its the same system, my "mychoice" account would be automatically updated.

Google canceled my order for no reason !

I preordered 32gb Black pixel XL the minute it was announced on the 4th.
Everything went through fine and I got a confirmation email of the order.
Then I notice that there are no funds on hold in my account .
I think nothing of it and figure they will hold funds when it ships .
Fast forward to Monday the 17th .
I call customer service to inquire when I should receive my phone and why there isn't a hold on my bank account for the funds.
They tell me that I should receive the phone between the 26-28 of October .
And that I will be charged when it ships.
That my order is processing and every is fine .
Last night I get an email from Google saying that my order has been cancelled.
It states to reason as to why ....
So I call customer service , they tell me its a billing issue and transfer me to google wallet .
We verify that my billing and mailing addresses match and they do .
Next we get on a 3 way call with my bank to see if their were any declines from their end .
Once again nothing , the bank has no record of google ever making any attempt to charge it hold funds.
The customer service representative from wallet says " well everything looks fine , so you should go ahead and place an order again "
I said to them it's sold out , how do you want me to do that .
They had no answer for that .
Then she transfered me to the ordering department .
I went back and forth with them about what took place , they escalated it to a tier 2 person , in which they told me to join the waiting list .
This is complete bull**** , they canceled my order for no reason and now I have to get on a waiting list for a phone that i ordered and got confirmation was shipping next week .
What can I do at this point ?

That sucks. One thing to try is pleading on twitter. Many companies hate when you make something public on social media so you may get a better response.

Contacted them via phone and chat and was told something happened in the system and a bunch of orders got cancelled and that there was nothing they could do about it. Absolutely ridiculous! Having ordered over two weeks ago only to get on a wait list now and probably not get the free VR headset!? Really wish this was a regular retail store so I could take my business elsewhere.

So far it doesn't seem like it. All I have been told is that I need to get on the wait list. That is unacceptable as it looks like it will push the order out 1-2months and we would be screwed out of the VR headset. I just called back myself to try talking to someone else or a manager if needed. They said they had to check on something and they would call me back in 5 minutes (we shall see if they do).
The only acceptable resolution for me is for them to reinstate the order and get it shipped out soon as well as still providing the codes for the headsets . After committing to spend over $1600 with Google for two phones I think that is fair on my part.
If you are getting the 32GB, it often goes back on sale multiple times a day. I say 1/3 times I checked the 32GB is available, the 128GB is the hard one. Just keep checking and you will be able to order another one. I used their financing, that might help too if you can, don't have to deal with another bank. No reason not to at 24 mo, 0% interest. Saves yourself a tiny bit through the time value of money.

I used the Google financing and the order was still cancelled! I have 3 different email addresses set on the wait list since I am trying to get 2 phones. I am constantly checking to see if I can grab one. If I can get an order in for two by tomorrow I will be satisfied. Not happy, but satisfied.

You will get a hard inquiry in your credit report, that was the reason I didn't finance.

Ya, you think they would just force an order in, even if they have to add it to the next batch, just put it in reserve.

Yes you will, that is the only down side, so make sure you have no problem with your credit being affected by that.

I just called back again and pressed the issue. They finally escalated the issue but this just means they emailed me to tell me I would hear back in 1-2 business days. I made it clear that this defeats the purpose as by then the preorder is over and I loose the headsets.
Not holding my breath here though.

That's where they left off with me last night.
Escalated and awaiting an email ... Meanwhile the phone launches at best buy and Verizon tomorrow.
Really weighing out my options at the moment to make sure I don't left in the dark.

yeah, really blows. I don't want any other phone but really need a new one. I really don't want to buy from VZW or anyone else with their fingers in things. Worst case I wait until they are available again but I am still going to be very bitter about being screwed out of 2 VR headsets.
google pre order system works backwards.
Same thing happened to me today at 3pm. I had google finance and pre ordered the phone on October 4th and all of the sudden it got cancelled.
There seems to be a lot on canceled orders on here alone. I wonder if it scales up with everyone that pre-ordered? If it does, could it be google canceled random people due to low supply?

just a heads up. I called Google the other day to ask about the pre order promotion. I said specifically that I wanted to take advantage of it but was afraid that I would miss it because the window was closing.
The rep from Google told me not to worry that "no matter when you order, if you get this phone, you get a headset".
Verizon seems to be doing the same thing. I called them and they gave me a promo code over the phone they said you just need to activate a phone to use the promo. Doesn't seem to matter when you buy.
I think it was setup this way just to build hype.

It definitely isn't everyone. I have a buddy who ordered one the same day and he also financed with Google. His order has not been cancelled as of now. Granted he did get the regular Pixel so maybe it is related to the XL only?
They claimed to me on the phone that two nights ago at 3am something happened and the orders had issues/got cancelled and that it happened to many orders.
