Dell refunded my money, Didn't tell me... Weird. - Venue Pro General

HOT news!!!
I was refunded my money via online banking. It's very strange!
I check my order online daily to make sure when and if my DVP have shipped. My order is still on the dell website and shows that it's still in production.
However, the weirdest thing is that I was refunded my money when I checked my online-banking account today. I also have no records of it on my account that I ordered anything from dell recently. Absoluetly no records at all. Not even a purchase or a cancelation. All I know is that I have the $500.00 money back for odd some reason.
I don't know whether this means they're going to cancel my order online without telling me because they no longer have my money.
I purchased with a debit card. My account is healthy as hell.
Anyone have this happened to them before?

dont spend that money what dell does is charges your card for the order initially but since you arent getting a device they can only put a temp hold on the amount after a few days your card issuer releases the hold but right when youyr device is gonna ship dell will charge you again. so make sure that money is there.

They did that too me too, but my bank has been doing this to me for almost every thing I buy thats over $100. I guess the bank just does that to make sure the charges aren't fraudulent or something. Eventually the money gets charged again but sometimes it takes up to a week after I even receive the thing.
I do have a student account though.

They're both right. Dell does place a hold to make sure you have the funds when you place the order, which essentially shows up as a "charge" on your account, but when the hold expires (usually a week), the money is back in your account because it was never really taken out. When the device is shipped, the account will actually be debited for the amount, so yes, as Shaun231 said, don't spend the money or there will be an error when Dell debits it for real during shipping.
I am hoping they ship the bloody device soon. I'm getting tired of refreshing the order status page on Dell.com

My friend who works for dell said sdome will be shipped tomorrow he always give me correct info. he said the problem they are having is microsoft wanting replacement devices for their store and dell wants the online orders stock to be fulfilled so there fighting over who has to wait online or store. I say store

I hope mine gets shipped tomorrow. I ordered it almost exactly when it became available online.

i mean people should just be happy to get a replacement battery after using my hd7 and my surrond at home I notice they both have the wifi issue as the dvp was reported to have. So i assume its software.

That's weird - is this a broader issue that has been posted on the HD7 and Surround forums? I had the HD7 for 2 weeks and it had no problems connecting to (and staying connected to, after waking from sleep/lock) my secured wireless network.

I assume they will ship by order number (which is assigned chronologically)... What were the last three digits of your order number? Mine is 813.

You need to get to the thousand (last 4 digits) or beyond to compare. eg:7714 (714) is earlier than 8114 (114)

Nope, it's a very plain ordering page. You select the phone, select your Google checkout payment method, select your address, click agree, then click submit.

Motorola Person called

A Motorola person called just a few minutes ago and told that my order would be canceled because of it not going through their system. My card got a pre-auth. The order status still hasn't changed but this is a total disappointment!

you should have asked if it was due to a bank issue and settled it before getting off the phone. Most of the time issues like this are due to bank issues, not merchant ones
I talked to a woman at corporate yesterday about a problem I was having (being charged for the gel case which was suppose to be free) they didn't mention anything to me about my order having a problem. That doesn't mean I'll get it though, still haven't received a tracking number.. says March 1 or March 2 delivery..

Either way, for those worried about not receiving a tracking number. I didn't receive one for a separate order I placed the next day for full price (it was only an accessory) but either way it says delivery on March 2 or March 3. No tracking # or shipping confirmation.

Do you know the reason why was cancelled? Did they tell you why?
i called today to get the status of my order and was told they didn't have one yet and someone would call me back about it. not looking good!
If the Motorola rep person didn't specifically say that it was because of the coupon, it could have easily been a bank or credit card company issue that caused it.

that would be my guess as well since many people have reported getting theres already or have found their tracking number on fedex.com by looking it up via reference number.
I seriously doubt this was the case with mine. I had a card full of $ and It had a pre-auth as well. Anyhow, I called CS again and they said that the order specialists would call me within 4 hours to tell me the sttus of the order(I didnt mention about the motorola lady calling me). So apparently, Motorola CS guys have no clue if my order was canceled. Not sure what to think!

I dont need a case, got one off amazon, and unfortunately dont have a code. . . but this is good, it helps people out. . .
U know, @ Insomnia im on quite a few forums. My main ones being XDA, Forzamotorsport, and X360Achievements and each one has a code give thread, were ppl gain these codes, dont want them or need them, so they give them away. . . its brilliant! If your not going to use it why be selfish and let it go 'unused'?

I registered for the phone trade-in the first week of March, got my confirmation on the 9th. The email about the delay came on March 22nd. This entire htc-one saga has taken place in Feb and March. I'm not sure what you mean. April 4th was when we could finally start ordering.
I never got the email with the coupon code. No big deal, as it turned out I didn't need it. Once I found out that AT&T kept the phone stock like the global one and the logo was just a grey globe on the back, I decided to save $350 and get the AT&T. At the time I thought I could get it in black which made it even more appealing but the silver is fine with me.
I registered for email updates from both ATT and HTC. I even re-registered around teh middle of March since I hadn't heard anything. I don't think AT&T ever sent out any emails.
HTC may have used some other list for the coupon code. A list I wasn't on...

I'm just iterating what HTC was telling me on the phone, so I guess unless there were some other problems like in your case where you did register before that, I was not aware of it.
You could give HTC a call and tell them if you could get the deal potentially I would believe. It does not hurt to try.
Maybe I didn't get on the list because I registered too early. whatever the reason I didn't need the code anyway, but it means unfortunately I don't have one to give away in this thread.

Yeah well - I signed up for almost everything from HTC. Heck, I even did that last year during the HTC One X fever. But never got any newsletter or fan mail or any such thing from HTC. Not even a lousy, "you are a good customer" email. :crying:

Me too. I talked to five CSRs yesterday, three of them told me it's back ordered, one of them said it would ship yesterday, another one said it would ship today. Worst company I've ever seen.
Ya I am too. I've called multiple times and they keep saying that it "should" go out today and it never does. The shipping date keeps getting pushed back one day at a time.

I ordered a 64 GB developer edition on Saturday 4/20 at around 11 am and it has been in picking since. I selected 2 day shipping and the original expected delivery was today 4/24. Yesterday that was bumped to 4/25. Today it says 4/26.
I've gotten more patient over the years, and my current phone is serviceable so I'm just going to sit tight for now. The worst case seems to be 'end of April' which isn't too far away.
I preordered with them, it shipped on Friday and I got it on Saturday. That said, it did sit in "picking" for a couple days before it shipped, and the order also disappeared from their online tracker right beforehand.

That said, if it is firmware related and not hardware, it should be fixable by flashing the appropriate firmware, ROM or radio. Waiting for the knowledgeable peeps to chime in.

Mine too. Ordered on the 12th, couldn't get an order status until yesterday, still in picking. Trying to decide whether to cancel or wait it out. My G2X is crap and I need something ASAP. It was either an HTC One or a GS4, and I wanted the One, but after this mess, it's probably gonna be whichever I can get first.
I ordered on the 12th but it has been "picking" for 5 days now I'm kind of disappointed that I (promised to!) shell out so much money and now I'm waiting considerably longer than carrier customers. I'm quite patient but I wish let's talk would be a bit more finite with their dates, there is no way they have been "picking" my phone for the better part of a week.
I will only be angry if I get the phone and it has hardware defects. I would imagine the RMA process with these guys would be terrible

So was mine, shipping today for 2 days...i called them and she said oh it's because we ran out of stock (thanks for that heads up). So I cancelled and went to AT&T, which i'm glad i did they gave me $150 off even though i wasn't due for any upgrade for a long time..
Ordered on 4/9 and it still shows picking status as well. This is definitely getting ridiculous.
I ordered two 64gb dev edition handsets on the 10th and I'm on back order. I called HTC and they said there next shipment is on the 29th.
I am having the same problem too, it remaied picking for almost a week and hopefully i could get this by the end of this April because i am gonna leave on May 2nd.

Lol I tried picking mine up at FS and they couldn't sell it to me despite me having it reserved. Street date is Nov 8th or some BS apparently. The guy had the box in his hand right in front of me. Not sure what Samsung is trying to achieve here by delaying launch by another week. Ugh.

Just a tip to those who live near the border. Amazon USA is selling the white 16gb for $549 plus a free $50 Amazon gift card. Its a pretty good deal and I was able to take advatange of it. Also, you get perks worth $600 upon registering the tablet. I dont think the Canadian model offers the same perks.

Lol I tried picking mine up at FS and they couldn't sell it to me despite me having it reserved. Street date is Nov 8th or some BS apparently. The guy had the box in his hand right in front of me. Not sure what Samsung is trying to achieve here by delaying launch by another week. Ugh.

Same happened to me..they called me ro pick it up but when I'm paying it they can't do it....I was so pissed I emailed the cust support and they replied and asking for more info....when I got back to work I ordered online at BB...got confirmation email but no tracking number yet...its so stupid calling me to pick it up when its not ready yet..here's hoping BB will send it out in th e next couple of days...
**update...just got my tracking number...yes!

How long did it take for them to send the tracking number? Hopefully it ships by Monday.
Also, are they shipping by UPS or Canada Post?

I ordered it this morning after coming back from futureshop empty handed ...I might get it monday...they are shipping through Canada Post...lol I'm at the plant right now working part time and I know i won't receive it tomorrow....

No demo in the store I went to...they have two boxes in the shelve but no signage...oh well at least BB shipping it earlier..

I got the same hassle from Future Shop, no "I do not care we told you it is available and you can pick it up, I do not care you went out of your way for nothing" .... oh I was so mad.
Went back to work empty handed, ordered it online and it is on the truck today... coming here.
I get it thinking about charging it,
Write in big letters, "MY New Note 10.1 2014", "Message for this store, YOU SUCK!!!"
Walk around the store.

Lol...my BB order is arriving tuesday....I called FS today and told them BB street date is today...he checked it...put me on hold and then told me that they've changed it so I can pick up mine today...he remembered me and my tab is still on hold....now I got two coming my way will return one...
Lol that's pretty funny. Anyway I managed to go pick up my FS order today because the release date magically got pushed up to Nov 1st. Thanks Apple? What ****ty logistics on Samsung's part.

I just bought the last one in calgary today bro!!!
didn't realize it was released until last night at about midnight, woke up this morning and called everywhere. the best buy stores ALL had their stock mis-shipped, so NONE of them got it in. as for futureshop, the only one that had any left was the deerfoot meadows store, which thankfully is only about a ten minute drive from my house. called, got the guy to put it away for me, and tore down there as fast as i could, went in and bought it immediately (after having them run around looking for it because the sales guy didn't put it on hold properly, he just hid it inside the lockup where their normal stock is...so i could have even had it sold out from under me if i wasn't lucky).
i ended up buying the total protection plan coverage because it covers up to two free replacements if i break it, so i figure worst case, it breaks, great i just saved 300 bucks on the second tablet (since the plan cost me 300 instead of its usual 360) and then if i break it again, perhaps days before the end of the warranty and when they only have the next generation note available, then i guess i get it replaced with the new one
also the warranty is over the counter for breakage, they don't make you wait and wait and wait.... you simply bring it in, they see it's broken, and they go get you a new one. if it's just needing repair, like for the battery, which is covered for two years also, then you actually get a loaner note while yours is being fixed...pretty damn cool!!!!
anyways, i just installed the latest australia firmware onto it, since that is the newest of any available, and i just rooted it....starting to really enjoy it now. now i just hope someone comes out with at least a rom or two for it, or i might have to try my hand at making one, although i've never made one how hard can it be? lol...
