[Q] Configurar Lockscreen in - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

How should I set the lockscreen so that no security has failed when I restart the machine?
I do not know if it's common knowledge more when we set the lockscreen with PIN and the device is restarted unsolicited PIN

It is not possible to block the lockscren safely using PIN because the PIN to reset the device is not required.
I need help to configure.

Locking the Stock Browser?

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to lock the stock epic web browser so that it cannot be accessed opened without a password?
I need to lock my internet browser from unauthorized use and can't seem to figure out how to do it.
Thanks in advance if you can tell me how or know of an app that does this.

[Q] S Health PIN problems

I got my I9505 yesterday and today i spent a couple minutes trying out the S Health app. I dont know if its me being a total noob but i set a PIN in the app settings and now when I try to access the app again it obviously asks me for a PIN, I put it in.....and.....nothing happens.
There is no option to click "ok" is there any workaround/reset?

How can I use dash clock?

Hi, I am trying to use dash clock on my S4. I can't use custom widgets because I activated the pass lock but I cannot disable it (probably because of knox).
Am I doing something wrong?

Are you using a corporate email account? Is rooting your phone an option?
No, I just configured my Gmail account. I remember that last week I was able to choose swipe unlock but today I cannot do it anymore. I don't remember I changed security related settings but I cannot exclude I did it.
I'd prefer a solution that does not involve rooting.

I read that the issue may be related to encryption. I recently added a SD card from Samsung but I didn't encrypt it neither the phone.

Another thing I did was the configuration of my university wifi network which required me to install a certificate. I think it is more likely to be the culprit.
Now I just need to figure out how I can disable/remove it and see what happens.

You can clear the credentials if you want (Settings > Security > Clear Credentials), but I'm afraid a better solution isn't available without rooting.
EDIT: Also, you can edit your posts instead of posting multiple times.
Removing the certificates I managed to enable dash clock.
I am still not too satisfied from having to choose between the pattern lock and dash clock.
On my nexus 7 I'm sure I'll use dash clock, but on my phone (where dash clock is more useful) I'd like to have more security.

If you're rooted, I have an Xposed module that enables lock screen widgets when the device is secured (link in signature)

[Q] Lock Whatsapp with Galaxy S5 Fingerprint

When opening Whatsapp, is possible to popup a window like the one on the image to verify the fingerprint (like private mode, paying with paypal etc.)? It can be done with Tasker but I don't know the name of that process (on the screenshot).

We need some specifics. Any app can mean a lot. What steps have you tried to resolve the issue?

I specifically tried EvoveSMS, ChompSMS, and GoSMS. I changed the default from Samsung Messaging to one of these.Clicking on the Messaging icon on the homepage launched Samsung messaging, which asked if I wanted to change default....NO...which proceeded to launch Samsung ANYWAYS. I forget what else I was doing, but Samsung was launched too when I wanted to message....
Are you using a custom launcher? If not pressing on messaging will always load the same thing. You have to click on the app you want to use. If using a custom launcher there should be a default setting in there somewhere.
Have tried both 3rd party and stock launchers....shouldn't changing default messaging peg have fixed the icon issue?

Are you trying to click on where it says "messaging" or the actual app you are trying to use for SMS? The messaging app is just that an app, not an app launcher/shortcut so selecting it will always open up Samsung SMS.

Both, the Samsung messaging asks if i want to change default app, regardless of what I choose, Samsung gets launched.....
Just go into the app you want to use and hide Samsung Messaging and you should be fine
